    We are having a combo birthday party today for one of my son's and his cousin at my sister-in-laws. Needless to say I am the biggest brewer fan in the family. It would have been much easier to catch the game on TV than find a radio that I can put on without anyone complaining. And my wifes family can party for awhile so it is quite possible I may miss most or all of the game. At this point I just hope they play tonight and I will find a way, even if I have to sneak on their computer and follow on line and log into chat on here. I can't take 2 days without the Brewers...that is why I hate the All-Star break! And this year the break is 4 days, that's just not right.

    Well the Cards won, so hopefully we can add 2 to the win column today and get some momentum heading to St. Louis. On a side note, St Louis's offense has been pretty bad so far.

    Not overly concerned about the lineup today. Like that Gross gets a start, but would Like Hall to be in there. Not sure about Counsell batting 2nd. Either way, I feel a win coming today.

    Lets get some easter mojo going. My boss is a Cubs fan and losing 2 out of 3 will be bad enough, but I can't handle a @#%$. Bad part is I will miss first 3 too 4 innings while at brunch. Go Crew!

    Doesn't Zambrano often start slowly in April. I'm thinking we get to him by the 4th. Get those bats going!

    Nice to see Braun doing well. Want more defensive opportunities for him though so we can get a better idea of how he is doing.

    I think Sheets has a chip on his shoulder about last year. I think he comes out and limits the Cubs to 2 runs over 7 and the offense gets Zambrano for enough to win it. GO crew!

    I am thinking Sunday. After Sheets great start Monday, I don't think they break Estrada and him up.

    Going to be keeping an eye on the Cubs vs. Reds and Cards Vs. Mets. Lilly and Looper going for Cubs and Cards. Want to see how both will do.

    If Mench and Jenkins are productive and used correctly match-up wise, I have no problem with Hart getting 120 starts. That will still get him enough at bats. But as I believe Russ said earlier, someone will probably be gone by the All star break. I just disagree on who, as I believe it will be Mench.

    I'm torn. Mench to Lieber would be fine, not suer about Turnbow going to. He could find it and end up a great set-up man in Philly.

    Turnbow available According to this, Turnbow appears to be available. As said earlier, Melvin saying he is not motivated to move him may be the kiss of death.

    If it takes Capellan to get the deal done, then I want no part of it. As others have said, Lieber for Mench straight up would be fine, or with a lower reliever. No way would I include Cappy(2).

    It is exciting just being mentioned. Now I don't expect it to happen, but if they could add him and some how get a power bat somewhere else I would be very excited. But reality tells me it's a pipe dream, still it is nice to dream.

    My main concern with that, is his hitting is what is holding him back. Sitting on our bench as a pinch runner/defensive replacement will likely hurt his growth. He needs to be getting consistent at bats in AAA.

    Add in the fact that for all intensive purposes this is a contract year for Jenkins. There is an option, but not very likely that it will be exercised. So he will be playing for his next contract.

    JSonline Counsell article Additional confirmation. From the sound of the article it appears they are picking Counsell over Graffanino.

    Unless he is very cheap and no more than a 4th/5th outfielder I don't want him. I would rather give Gross the shot for the year.

    It's tough to keep track of all these updates during the day. And to think it's not even the winter meetings yet.
