  1. You're biased! Anyways, I'm about 99% sure I saw Packers WR James Jones in Bayshore Mall last winter. Knowing his background, I'm assuming he came down to Milwaukee for homeless outreach. If that wasn't James Jones, he sure is a confident dude, as he sure responded clearly to my "I know who you are" head nod.
  2. I like that the intentionally cutesy/annoying "franks-and-beans" bit was brought crashing back to earth by Pam's sheer anger and Jim's relative-ineptitude at controlling the situation. This episode was a winner.
  3. Oof... Patrick --- are any of your connections loose?
  4. Poor FP Santangelo...
  5. Crime in Milwaukee falls 12.3% overall this year http://media.journalinteractive.com/images/CRIMESTATS20G.jpg
  6. This show has been outstanding addition to my viewing schedule and totally exonerates ABC for ever allowing According to Jim to hit the airwaves. Why the face has it taken us so long to start a thread on it? I thought the last episode was sorta mediocre, but I was assuaged by the awesomeness of the stuck-in-the-head singalong coda that rolled during the credits.
  7. I gotta say, last night's episode seemed like a retread from Season 1. The show has been at its best this year when it's plays to the strengths of the ensemble as a whole. I thought this one focused way too much on Leslie and used Fred Armisen's guest-character (and his accent) as a crutch for cheap laughs instead of banking on the subtle humor from the rest of the cast that they rode successfully for the previous 4 episodes. Mark & Ron in particular (and Tom to a degree) were criminally underutilized. All in all, I'd give it a C-. I'm not giving up though... this show had many more ups than downs this season on the whole and besides, something has to bridge the gap for me between Community and The Office on Thursday nights.
  8. FUNDAMENTAL
  9. Patrick, keep fighting the good fight. WDJT-HD is atrocious.
  10. CNet actually says the opposite, at least for plasmas. Not that they're the end-all/be-all though...
  11. Paul, I have a 50" Panasonic plasma hanging above the fireplace in my living room because, as you already know, I am awesome. I made my case in the thread Schlitz linked to. I've owned mine for a year and a half and have had no issues that weren't source-related (damn you, WDJT and your incessant multi-casting).
  12. That and CBS58 multi-casts 5 channels, diluting the signal for their primary HD channel. Their PQ is ridiculously bad.
  13. Wait, we all know the genius of 'wolf shirts', right? http://www.amazon.com/Mountain-Mens-Three-Short-Sleeve/dp/B002HJ377A
  14. She said she's 5 months along in yesterday's episode, which puts the due date conveniently in February sweeps season. (It is accurate though seeing that they found out in May, so I guess it's not that convenient.)
  15. I mentioned this in the Office Season 6 thread, but I think Parks & Rec has really stepped up its game in Season 2 (and is still worthy of its own thread). "Whiz Palace", "Taliban Robes", "Cave Sex", "Anger Pee", who could ask for anything more? Here's last night's episode, IMO the best episode to air in NBC's block last night.
  16. Opening vomit scene with Creed just eating his noodles like nothing was amiss. Yes. My wife hates anything and everything vomit, so I had to give here a play-by-play of this scene to keep here up to speed. Even Dwight was in near-hysterics. Creed's non-reaction just made the scene.
  17. Jim openly acknowledged the Youtube Wedding Dance, so it wasn't just a knock-off. Not doing so would be anathema to the entire show. As cheesy as it was, I kind of liked the twist it added, and even if it didn't quite fit the episode, it fit the show to a T. I actually was a bit underwhelmed with the first half of the episode, but that might be due to unreasonable expectations. At the very least they were able to throw in the word 'scrotum' 5+ times, that's an impressive accomplishment in and of itself. Also, Dwight's 'Wolf Shirt' was epic. Ditto on the Modern Family love. I caught the last 5 minutes of the first show by chance and I've been hooked ever since. EDIT: I've also been keeping close tabs on Parks & Rec this year, and I have to say I might be enjoying it even more than the Office now (and I think pretty much everything they've done since MSPC has been consistently among their best since Season 2). Today's episode was fantastic. I'm not a fan of Amy Poehler one bit, but I've found her to be funny more often than not. Ignore any instinct to compare this against The Office and you'll find it much easier to enjoy. Anything scene Ron is in just makes my week.
  18. Here you go: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/28/travel/28prac.html?_r=1
  19. Bingo. Same for me. To actively root against something that will greatly benefit the entire region out of personal spite for all things Chicago is a bit short-sighted, in my opinion.
  20. You guys have been on 88.9, right?
  21. I found myself incredibly rapt by Jim & David's meeting in episode 2. Andy description of his cousin's email and his introduction of the cheese platter were both hilarious. Darryl's equal-size sister was awesome. "I'll just have whatever's fanciest, unless there's ribs."
  22. It's pretty obvious that this nonsense has gone along way to long... (wow, it really bugs me to write that way)
  23. 4:1 in Big Bang Theory mentions to How I Met Your Mother... what is this world coming to?
  24. What is this thread without a 'Sister Christian' suggestion?
  25. You may be right, and that's why for me it's been the best summer ever weather-wise.
