  1. Brand new ballgame! All those close calls, miscues...all that crap is for whiners. None of that stuff matters now.
  2. Now it's time to see what these guys are made of. That was deflating for sure, but this game is far from over. Come back and win this one and it'll be a huge confidence booster.
  3. A bunch of flares tonight for the Cubs. CC's running into some tough luck. If the bleeders dry up I think Sabathia can shut 'em down.
  4. There's your 2 runs "at least" (winds up being 3). Now let's lock 'em down, play tight 'D', and add some insurance.
  5. Let's score enough so that call at 3rd doesn't matter cause Hart woulda scored on that hit.
  6. I highfived my wife's hand so hard I think she'll have a bruise. I might have one too!
  7. I'm a millisecond at first base from being right on this one. That's okay we still have time to get at least 1 more run this inning. At least. BOOYAH!!!
  8. I'm a millisecond at first base from being right on this one. That's okay we still have time to get at least 1 more run this inning. At least.
  9. I feel it right here. I'm feeling at least 2 runs this inning.
  10. Defense is coming up big the last few innings. No signs of throwing in the towel there! Let's get some runs!
  11. I hope Sheets knows to go heavily with the curveball versus Soriano and Lee. Those guys feast on fastballs. They'll chase breaking pitches just like anyone else.
  12. Actually rather than looking like they don't care, they look to me like they're pressing. Tonight they have that look they had so often in July and August when the pressure put on by the Cubs was just too much for a team that hadn't been through it before. At some point, today, tommorow, next week, or next year they'll realize they're as good as any team in baseball. What we need is for a couple of hits to fall in, catch a break or two. A comeback win just might be what the doctor ordered. I think this thing will turn when we get a hit with a runner in scoring position. That play by JJ right there is a nice start.
  13. It's early, we gotta stay postive. It's really the only way we can contribute as fans. That and not selling our tickets to the highest Cubs fan bidder. Everybody keep pulling for 'em.
  14. While that may be true, the buzz down there (I'm in Chicago daily) was how many tickets were there to be had over the internet from Wisconsiners looking to cash in. Also, the Miller Brewery tour today was overflowing. You guessed it, Cubs fans from the South. I don't think that a weekday Miller Tour was 10 times busier than usual because of locals.
  15. Trying to stay positive here...at least we made Lilly work a little bit. He threw 26 pitches there in the first inning.
  16. Disapointed by the still large number of Cubs fans apparently there. Way too much cheering for big Cubs plays. It looks like the whole front row behind the plate on tv is nothing but Cubs fans. At some point I hope team allegiance wins out over the allmighty dollar.
  17. The thought that this starting platoon might wind up sending our season into the toilet, is most definitely creeping into the forefront of my mind. If that does indeed happen, it will be the easiest reason ever given to an organization's management for firing a manger. End the madness now, Yost.
  18. There's a very good chance that this game is at the very minimum tied right now if anyone with half a clue was managing this team today.
  19. We get this race tied up, we're sitting with a 3-run lead with the Cubs down 5 and then Ned rears his ugly, brainless head once again. Now we're down 4 and the Cubs have pulled to within a run. Please, oh please, don't let the fourth inning of game 105 be the high point of the season. You know, where Ned Yost returned to form, thinking he was smarter than everyone else, and knotched the first blunder of a downward spiral. This one will be hard to forget.
  20. Suppan is forging a bid to make his name synonymous with Jeffery Hammonds. Does that answer the question?
  21. What in the heck is going on here? Sending Suppan back out there? Somebody hit Yost over the head and drag him into the dugout.
  22. Stunning incompetence on display here.
  23. diesmitty is a Cub's fan refering to his team's struggles.
  24. Well, he blew it. Tatis with a leadoff HR in the 9th to tie it. The Cards bullpen is hurtin'.
  25. I most definitely felt the same way. This a great, but let's not let it be the highwater mark of the year.
