5 years, $77.5m Angels sign CJ Wilson

That would have been one classy special. I can see it now.... Dimly lit room, over-sized leather chair, fireplace. Camera cuts to Albert who sets down a leather bound copy of Illiad and announces that he is taking his baseball prowess to Anaheim.

Awesome. The Central is wide open. Make some good moves Stache.

A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. Backloaded contracts provide better exit strategy

    DFA bad luck and Boras.

Come on Festivus miracle... Edit: Let the airing of grievances begin.

Mayo looks like he can play. Why did he go to MU?

Do any BFers (or friends/family) work for Insperity? I've been speaking with a recruiter about a PM position, and I was hoping to get more information about the firm.

Yankees win rights to Nakajima They plan on using him as a utility player.

It looks like Dec 16-18 would also be an option. PM me ASAP if you are interested.

Welcome to the Hall of Good, Ron. Well deserved.

I purchased a package at a B&B for this weekend (Dec 9-11), but I cannot make it up there. Here is what you get: - 2 nights stay at The Listening Inn - Daily breakfast for 2 - Flowers, chocolate, and champagne upon arrival - $60 in food and drink at Westwood II Supper Club - 2 1 hour massages $255 for the weekend. PM me if you are interested.

What would it take to get Hanley now that the Fish have Reyes? I'm assuming the Fish plan on sliding him over to 3rd, but that really hurts his value. Could the Brewers land him? Hanley for Peralta Thornburg Nyjer or Gomez Richardson/K Davis

I think I sold mine for $225. I've seen them range from $75-$275 depending on the time of year. I think I'd probably spend up to $150 for one now.

Is BA doing all of the Big Ten Network Badgers games?

Bell to Fish per MLB Trade Rumors. 3/27m with a vesting option for a 4th year.

Which calculation of WAR (BR or Fangraphs) is most universally agreed upon? I typically use Fangraphs, but I didn't realize there was a difference between the two calculations.

Wow. That's an amazing deal. Thanks for sharing.

We aren't talking Harvard here. It's Penn State. There are plenty of schools in the Big Ten alone that are as good or better. I went to Alaska for my MBA and the Sarah Palin comments have come up in an interview. Why risk any negative stigma in a horrible economy and job market?

I would go somewhere else as well. The stigma of what happened is going to hang around for a long time.

The show was solid, but it was only 40 minutes long. He basically played TYOH from cover to cover.

Youth Lagoon @ The High Noon Saloon in Madison tonight. $10 cover. It should be interesting to see how he performs the tracks from The Year of Hibernation live. I'd describe the music as Modest Mouse meets early lo-fi Bright Eyes. Review of "The Year of Hibernation"

Thought it would be a good idea to create a thread for the major yearly awards. Better late than never...
