Wow that’s actually a pretty solid list. Wiener was great in a short stint in the majors. Bullock - did he have make it to the pros? Peters was been a solid player, one who got away. Wagoner and Adams in AAA. Now Dickinson.

Lost in the Biloxi walk off win was the debut of Wande Torres. Well you know a 5 IP scoreless relief outing and earns the win, congrats Wande. Mercedes, Torres and Crow with some nice work tonight
  3. biedergb
Made singles. Walk off win Shuckers. Nice.

T -Rats hold on. Yerlin gives up a 3 run HR, but still win 4-3. Nashville wins 3-2. Crow goes 7 innings strong. Now Biloxi ties it 5-5. On to extras in Biloxi.

Biloxi doing Brewers things. 2-0 lead. Now down 5-2, now 5-3. Bitonti with another bomb. 3-0 T-Rats now

Holden looked good in his first 2 innings. 3 K in first 10 batters. But lost command a bit and then got super hittable. Fastball is only 90-91 mph. But apparently has very good extension so it looks faster. Decent first start but just got way to much of the plate after struggling to get in the zone in the 3rd. Now back to live games. Mercedes with a very nice high A debut so far. But runs into some trouble in the 6th. Yerlin comes in and wild pitch and walk yikes. But gets Brian Sanchez (yes that Brian Sanchez) out. And it’s still 2-0 T-Rats as Mercedes went 5.2 scoreless innings.

Oof. Not the best start for Holden, after 2 scoreless he gave up 7 runs (6 ER) in the 3rd. 3 BB and 3 K. Will try to watch to see if it is a stuff or command issue.

I will try to log in to watch some today. While I think Bentley had a solid debut, I am still most intrigued by Holden from the 11-20 round HS signings.

From the game thread last night: EDIT - click the link for more details.

Have to worry if Harrison was more Bryan Hudson or Eric Lauer - wonderful half a season. But yeah, Miz and Henderson and pray for days off.... ??? Need to rest the bullpen down the stretch. But not having enough starters and also not hitting enough will wear that down.

Yeah that 8th inning at bat is the one he wants back. If I remember correctly there were two very borderline calls (I’m being generous on then first such call which was a “strike” below the knees). That inning they had South Bend in the ropes. .

Shuckers load the bases. Then wild - a high chopper to short and the 3B was not in position to catch it and all runners safe. 3-2. Then a grounder to 1B and the first baseman stepped on the bag and throws home and it goes wide and 2 runners score. 4-3 walk off. Heck yeah! And Hardin closes the door but gives up a 2 run HR in the 9th. Still Sounds 13-5 win

Was just going to post about Fischer. also Nashville tied it up 6-6 thanks to Badoo bases loaded hit, then a 3 run HR by Quero.

Miqueas Mercedes with another nice start. 20 yo with a very solid year, amazing second half in low A. He and Wande Torres have me intrigued. Two interesting international arms. Dorchies has continued in his very disappointing season - only 1.2 IP which I hope was pitch count related and not an injury.
  15. biedergb
    Jawohl!!
  16. biedergb
Timmerman, R. Smith and Peralta all released. Three higher profile releases
  17. biedergb
Agree. Good points. But I also see how Nashville is winning this week but Norfolk is really bad. And Salem is not good. Rocket City is winning team so not sure if Biloxi playing high quality teams factors in too as I didn’t look up the the last three opponents, I mean still doesn’t explain what 1-15 now in 16 games with THAT talented a roster. i may look it up later to see - out of curiosity.

I don’t know if it is the competition they have played recently, but Biloxi has really slumped, even the offense is not showing up, while the pitching continues it poor form. On the flip side the ACL … I mean Wilson Warbirds with so many young (very young) players are really playing at a solid level. Trey Ebel who just graduated high school a couple of months ago and Antunez along with Encarnacion are hitting well. Anderson book ends our organization with Wilken in AAA as low BA, hugh K but raw power prospects who still have a pro future with that plus power tool.

So the DSL Gold won, nice. Sarmiento pitched well, nice. But they don’t advance. Bummer And Sproat is on the mound today - yikes.
  20. biedergb
Just a guess - but postering with the lockout and the clamor for an international draft - “canceling “ the IFA signing period may make it seem like their are planning to go ahead with some of these changes. Again purely my speculation. Either way this stinks. Wonder what happens to those “officially never happened because we play by the rules” ‘agreements’ for the 2027+ classes??

Thanks Mass. I could have looked it up, but thanks for re-posting it. That makes sense. I couldn't remember if a round robin, double eliminaiton etc. The fact they called it game #2 is what threw me off, but game #2 of the pod I guess.
  22. biedergb
Antunez with a fair pop up to shallow right field extends Wilson 5-1. But the interesting thing is that the hit was against Caden Vire. Yeah that Caden Vire. Who now threw a wild pitch and it is 6-1 Warbirds.
  23. biedergb
So did the DSL Brew Gold get eliminated, or more games to play? Impressive day and year by Moneys. Antunez with another hit tonight as WIlson is up 3-1. Shuckers with a lead in the top of 1, but can the pitching make it count??
  24. biedergb
And then there is a walk off home run. Ugh the losing streak continues....
  25. biedergb
Shuckers up 4-2. Bottom of 8, and Birchard gives up a single, then a walk, then a grounder to get only 1. Then a single. Tie game now. ugh Shuckers losing streak has been painful to watch.
