He never has a cheap one. He has the best pure power in the organization, and I will say IF he can fix those holes in the zone and lay off some of those pitches down/away, he can be a 50 HR guy in the bigs. A lot of ifs, That power potential and ability is not in question it has been the contact rate, but in zone and out of of zone. It would be interesting to see if he could be more selective and thrive in an ABS level, since I do think his huge zone is not consistently called in the lower minors, so I don't know if that is why he chases more, or if it is a pitch recognition. But man if he puts it together he is an absolute steal of a draft pick. Him and Pratt would make the 2023 draft a success.

I've been digging into the 2026 DSL numbers, and I think the Brewers are doing pretty well, especially when you look at the ages of the players. Brewers Gold is 33-19, and Brewers Blue is 30-23. Both are well above .500, with Gold having one of the better records in the league. And both could be playoff bound. What really caught my eye is that they're doing it with pretty young teams. The DSL average batting age is about 17.6 and pitching age is 18.5. Gold is only 17.2 / 18.2, while Blue is 17.5 / 17.8 (hitter / pitcher as per Baseball reference page) And they're producing: DSL Brewers Gold: 7.19 runs/game, .828 OPS DSL Brewers Blue: 7.25 runs/game, .852 OPS DSL average: 6.42 runs/game, .779 OPS So Gold is scoring about 12% more runs than the league average with a batting group that's actually younger than average. Blue's .852 OPS is even better. What's interesting is that some of the other really successful clubs are getting a lot more help from older pitching staffs. Padres Gold is 40-14 with a pitching age around 19.2, Royals Fortuna is 36-17 with a 19.1 pitching age, and there are several other good teams with pitching staffs in the 19.3-19.6 range. The Brewers seem to be doing it with young players on both hitting and pitching (I mean what else is new for this organization being among the youngest for a league). That also matches the individual hitter numbers. Milwaukee has about 13 of the top 250 hitter by wRC+ per FanGraphs for those who are teenagers (removed a handful of 20-21 yo), as well as an impressive 4 in the top 50. So among the teenagers, Brewers hitters are more represented in hitting performances that other clubs. So young teams, good success. Doesn't mean anything as a lot of these players don't make it stateside or out of the ACL. But again a good international foundation here.

So Turang, Pratt and Adams are the closest comps right now. If so I'll take it, since all 3 are MLB talents, with two on the roster currently.

can't have enough BP options to try to ride the hot hand in Sept/Oct. IF, and a big IF, they could have a healthy options of Ashby, Hall, Koenig, Romero along with Drohan and maybe even Gasser all as LH pitching options for the bullpen and you can use the best 4 of that group, that would help. But real world we will see some injury and some ineffectiveness as that is the life of MLB.

Dickinson would make more sense, given his hot bat and being a college pick last year. Pena - being much younger, and also missing a lot of time this year I would suspect may play the year out at Wisconsin, but I am just guessing here. I wonder if he is a possible AFL candidate, or do they just shut him down and focus on health for next year?

I wonder if this is the move for Wich. His problem has been control as well as big pitch counts as a result. So that limits him as a reliever, unless the short stints help him improve his control (focus on the more reliable pitches and let him go with his velo), and then he could be a bullpen arm in the future. What are people's thoughts on him. As a child of German immigrants he and Hoff are ones I will always keep an eye on. But offensively he is decent, but defensively he has looked good to me, but I am no scout, but the eye test makes me think he could be a back up catcher some day. Am I crazy?
