  1. Gonna one of those nights for Alexander Cornielle. 2 IP, but already at 36 pitches. No hits, 1 walk and 4 K. Looking good, but so inefficient, may not go more than 4-5 IP which has been an Achilles heel for him (pitch count)
  2. Yes sir. And I would imagine that in that world Jadher is up in AA with Lara and Pratt to form a young formidable middle defense.
  3. Welp I'm having issues with my wifi, so I am watching gameday live updates only, but would have been a nice game to watch in Zebulon. Dorchies with a great start as @Joseph Zarr alluded to. Then the top of the line up with 2 separate 2-run innings so far. Adamczewski and Made each 2-3 with a BB. Pena with 2 RBI. And Anderson 2-3 as well. Only Bitonti among the top 6 hasn't gotten on. And DiTuri is 0-3 with 3K. Yikes. Dubanewicz somehow through 4 IP in 53 pitches despite 7 hits allowed (all singles). 5-2 Muddies in the bottom of 8th. And Bitonti just K'd. Anderson with another single, now 3-4 with the RBI. It's 6-2
  4. Colmenarez gives those two runs up with a HR against. It is not 9-6 as this battle continues. On to the 8th, but I will call it a night. Nice to see the ACL bats getting hits and hits with runners in scoring position too (5-9 tonight). Was it last week or the week before where they have like only a couples hits two games in a row.
  5. Mercedes completes 5 IP. Did hit 95 mph in his last inning, but also gave up a double and a single for a run. So 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB and 2K, and it took 82 pitches. A decent if not great outing. But Handelfry singles home Ereu to restore it a 3 run lead. 7-4. Colmenarez gives up another run in his inning of relief, with offspeed stuff and a sinker that goes 88-90mph. Next inning, a walk by FIelder, and have yourself a night, Roderick Flores, who hits his second homer of the season (and 2nd of the night), and it is a 9-5 lead. Every position player with a hit, there are 2 BBs drawn, and only 4 Ks so far for the offense.
  6. Sweet @sveumrules I was just thinking that the Complex Crew kids were playing, and going to check in I forgot we have stat cast data for it as well. Double bonus
  7. Some teams don’t view the draft in the way of building depth at all levels, and it is hard since there may be a gap that they may not be ready to bridge of they go heavier on HS. For most teams high end HS and then mostly college guys are safer, closer to being in higher levels of minors, less perceived injury risk, and theoretically less time on development. Brewers clearly are in on taking time to develop them and see trying to get quantity and quality, and view this as a model of sustainability since they can’t (or won’t and that’s a totally different debate) spend in free agency. So I do see some teams trying this approach, but not most.
  8. Any time we beat a Cubs team/affiliate is a good day. Let's get 14 more runs 😁
  9. I can stack the numbers if you let me vote more than once 😉 (this way I can vote for all 80 prospects I follow lol)
  10. Oh gosh. I forgot the Mudcats slumped at the end of the Carolina league first half. Yikes, need to get on a roll, and haven't followed the 2nd half standing. And who are they neck and neck with ? ..... FredNats 🙄 And they play the last week of the regular season probably for the 2nd half title on the line
  11. Sounds like Coil has a very good sweeper, and then my inference (not stated at all by BA) is that he could be a pitcher who could be "Yoho" type in that a couple of very good pitches and some development could see him move up. Again BA reviewed his pitches, and I only paraphrased a half a sentence of the write up, but my take home / interpretation from the BA article was very good pitch, and could be a solid move quick reliever if things go right. They did have a lot to say on Owens and my interpretation of it is a guy with a bunch of good pitches but needs refinement, which is something this org has done well with over the past several years.
  12. Sanchez comes on and closes the door for another Mudcat win.
  13. Fitzpatrick in. And one pitch and gets the save? Nice play by Vargas. Gregory Barrios makes the last out - he was visible today Thoughts with Bryant - hopefully nothing serious. Didn’t look off but he called for the trainer after the ball to make it 3-2.
  14. Oh no. After a near miss - Lara got hurt diving back to first base, but he’s ok Now Bryant one strike away from the save a points to his elbow. Yikes. He’s coming out. Ugh. Not good at all. Tyler was coming into his own. Hopefully minor injury and an abundance of caution, and he’s back healthy soon.
  15. Bryant with 2 strike outs to start the 9th. One out to go. Carolina gets some insurance runs (a run back) with Ibarguen HR - his first in low A.
  16. Merkel also playing with fire but gets a grounder to Pratt end of 8 innings. Shuckers nursing a 6-5 lead. In Delaware, Tobias out after two solid scoreless innings. Bryan Rivera in.
  17. Bowman replaces Manfredi and he gets the out. Phew.
  18. And Manfredi walks Gregory Barrios. Ugh. 6-5 lead bases still loaded. Let’s go Shuckers. Get out of this and get some more insurance runs.
  19. Walther walks, and gets to 2nd in a grounder. Then Made walks, with Walther advancing on a wild pitch. Another wild pitch scores Walther. But Pena Ks. 4-1 Muddies however. in Montgomery- Manfredi, HBP, and two walks. Bases juiced but two outs. He’s playing with fire.
  20. Tobias 3 up and 3 down. Two Ks. Lots of curveballs. Nice inning. He could go the rest of the way IF he can keep the lead, or IF the offense could get some more runs. Hoping Fabian is out of the game soon.
  21. Man Mudcats cannot figure this young reliever out. He goes 3-0 to Walling watches 2 fastballs down the middle; then swings through the pitch and corkscrews into the ground. Muddies will be happy to have him out of the game soon. Still 3-1 on to bottom of 6 IP. Meccage out after 5 solid. Griffin Tobias in.
  22. Meccage having an impressive outing- now through 5 IP, and just 2 hits, no walks to 6 K. And impressively 64 pitches to get through 5 innings.
  23. It’s Middendorf outing for Biloxi. This could be interesting….
  24. This Fabian pitcher for the Shorebirds has some sick stuff - strikes out Made, Peña and Bitonti. All three looked like they were no match for this lefty. Bitonti was just way way way overmatched. Eric still has some huge holes in that swing. Yikes. He’s been better but I just don’t see him moving up to Wisconsin with his K rate.
  25. Meccage guts his way through the inning. Hard hit out. A hard hit near homer - may have hit the top (may have just cleared the line for a HR? Official call triple). A deep hard hit fly out scores a run. Then Meccage gets the strike out. 3-1 Muddies. Peek has faced 12 batters in 3.2 IP of relief - that’s 12 up, 11 down. One walk allowed. Keeping Shuckers afloat, still 6-4 Shuckers lead.
