  1. Ok. Who had DiTuri out-OPS-ing and with more HR than Bitonti on April 30th? Eric B is in a real struggle right now and just not hitting the power to gaps or out. ‘But still DiTuri has done well in this month after last years struggles.
  2. Well shoot. TRats go quietly in the 9th. Alastre looked appropriately overmatched, the pop up by Guilarte (who could have atoned for his error), the H Perez flies out. Welp, 3-1 night for the affiliates.
  3. My take - very athletic, his glove work can be erratic, and he has a strong arm but has been wild. He has the ability. The question is will his bat make him move away from behind the dish as he will need more time and reps to be a good catcher, and if he hits like this he will need to move up quickly.
  4. And a brutal error by Guilarte. 2 runs in and Trats now trail 6-4. Still only 1 out. Yikes. Yerlin looked great Saturday. Tonight we get the other version.
  5. Ugh. And he walks in a run. 4-4. Not a great 9th inning for TRats.
  6. Oh boy. Gets the K, then Yerlin gets wild, and a 2-0 wild pitch the they compete the walk. Bases juiced.
  7. Not good Yerlin so far. Let’s get out of this.
  8. Childers gets a K. And Ks another. 2 outs bottom of 9th. And Childers gets a grounder to 1st. That’s 3 outs Shukcers win. Have won 10 of last 13!! Big win to open the series.
  9. You are all good sir. You are watching how many games at once?
  10. Not sure what happened - But Miller walks - and then they escort Adam’s to 3rd and home. Unsure - but the announcer now stating something about a ball in play and discarded to the dugout. It’s now 9-2 Shuckers. Absolutely finding all kinds of ways to score!
  11. Warren gets a double to lead off the 9th. Adams then rips a single to left for an RBI single. Adams swinging and making some contact over the past week or so
  12. How do you spell victory? G-I-D-P !! 3 DIBP have helped Biloxi pitchers get out of the innings. Still 7-2 Shuckers onto the 9th.
  13. Lara ! Big one out RBI double with Restituyo on base. 7-2 Shuckers!
  14. Don’t you love the announcer’s curse?? With Pratt and Wilken on, Adams and gets behind 0-2. Works a full count and has a couple very close check swings. The Clingstone announcer is talking about the reliever who is RHP and he has done well, particularly against right handed batters, and states “he hasn’t given up a hit against a righty”, and cue pitch …. Swing …. No doubt 3-run HR by Adams. He crushed that hit and Adams knew it!
  15. Something brewing for Biloxi? Pratt walks and gets to second on a balk. Wilken hits an excuse me swing mini bunt in front of home, and the catcher tries to get Pratt. Wilken reaches. Warren K for the first out. Adams and Miller up. Let’s get some insurance runs!!
  16. Brian Fitzpatrick relieved KC Hunt, and was slightly erratic, but gives up a walk, gets a nice grounder for a double play, and a grounder ends the frame. Nice. Shuckers are back up to bat.
  17. Restituyo bloops it into LF and Miller score. 3-2 Shuckers lead. Top of the lineup up …. But Spain pops out to foul. Lara is up. EDIT: Blake Burke HR for TRats. I did not see it but good to see him get a big fly!
  18. And D. Miller with a seeing eye single - scores Warren. 2-1 Shuckers still trail. And runners at the corners. Lets go shuckers. Ramon Rodriguez! Big RBI single! 2-2 game
  19. Adams gets on via catcher’s interference- wow he is just an OBP machine
  20. Almost Lara broke it up with a double last inning. But the rest of the team -oh boy -4 walks, 4 K And Warren walks again.
  21. Oof. Bitonti is struggling, power hitters take more time, but he and Wilken have been less than stellar. I may try to catch some of the games in the later innings ‘But good to have you back in the nightly minor league game thread again Jospeh.
  22. That is true and it becomes a flawed statistic at times - like in pitching staffs where a couple of pitcher over 25 for example can skew the "average" age, or if a bunch of players on the roster are young, but the main at bats are given to more experienced players. I guess it generally evens itself out, and also changes with promotions (older guy goes up, and a younger guy gets called up), so the ages fluctuate a bit. But if you go with AB or IP weighting of ages, that Mudcat team would be pretty young (see IP by Meccage, Hernandez among others).
  23. Is this a thing now - didn't the Sounds/Shuckers just play the Rays AAA/AA the same time, and the week prior it was the ChiSox AAA/AA teams as well if I recall correctly?
  24. What is most impressive to me - last year he had a total of 5 starts that I counted where he went 5+ IP (granted he was switched to 1-2 IP reliever the last month or so). But this year he has 5 such outings of 5 IP or more in all 5 of his starts.
  25. That is so cool. Post whatever you can from your experience there at some point. I think the Cliff Notes: Biloxi finds offense - a bunch of homers including Luke Adams on his birthday, and had another one this week too I think. The team had a good week overall. Homers, timely hits, and Garret Spain seemed to have sparked the team. Oh yeah this Alexander Cornielle kid - has a fan club of 1, but could get more fans this season 😉 TRats finally win a few games. I only watched a couple, but looks like Blake Burke is heating up. Manny Rodriguez had a nice outing today, the bullpen didn't. But we did have "good" Yerlin Rodriguez yesterday - after an OK outing by Tyson Hardin, but a Hedbert Perez homer broke the tie, and gave them a lead. Some positives there. Oh yeah and Bishop Letson could be a keeper. Mudcats - well in a word, relentless. Even though they lost a few games this week (twin bill on Friday) the offense was on a tear - see Thursday and Saturday 8 runs innings which were both one run games (L on Thu and W on Sat). And you'll be surprised to hear this - players keep exiting the games 🙄 sheesh. At least they have the depth and the talent, they are fun to watch/follow. Josh Adamczewski and Marco Dinges had good weeks, and lead the team in OPS and wRC+. Pitching wise - I will have to look up again, but Bryce Meccage had a good start and Melvin Hernandez had a nice line yesterday pitching zeros in a 11-10 win. Nashville - I did not keep up too much. But the Cliff Notes would go like this - Daz Cameron is really good at AAA hitting and got called up. The offense was clicking with him in the lineup. And Jacob Misiorowski had a really good week at AAA and this week at least looked like the prospect we hope will get called up for good someday. You can dream on his performance this week That sums up most of what I knew - although Tuesday and Wednesday feel about 2 weeks ago for me already.
