  1. I'm all for Utley breaking the record, but I'm also all for merciless beatings of every baseball analyst who has commented on the hit streak as if Utley is anywhere near the record. These morons should be banned from talking about it until it reaches a minimum of 44 games.
  2. Nice at-bat there by Gross. Someone should tell him to stop watching Jenkins.
  3. If MLB did what NFL Films does and release a video highlight show for each team to recap their season, I think adambr2 just hit on something: Not Meeting Expectations: The 2006 Milwaukee Brewers
  4. Of all the things that could have realistically happened there (an out is NOT one of them, by the way), we probably did as well as we could getting the walk. Of course, if Ned would have pulled Davis instead of just yelling randomly at the infielders (dang it, guys, this guy can't throw strikes and it's all YOUR fault!), we'd probably be out of this mess, but what fun would that be?
  5. Hold on to your razors, kids. Here comes Kolb.
  6. Gotta straighten that out so Ned will actually pull Davis from the game. Go ahead. It's probably our only shot at this point.
  7. Good news, folks. Dan Kolb is warming up in the bullpen. (Um...are you sure that's "good" news?)
  8. Thanks for the laugh. It probably kept me from throwing my cell phone. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. D F A Just eat the contract. He's useless, and any hope of real return in a trade is a pipe dream.
  10. By the way, Geoff Jenkins just struck out. In other news, CNN is reporting that water is indeed wet.
  11. He's frightening to watch. The sequence to Carpenter, which led to a run, by the way, is perfect visual evidence. He actually should have been nibbling, and he didn't! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  12. By the way, I'm glad Doug threw Carpenter a pitch I could have bunted for a good sacrifice on 1-2. Don't bother trying to get the guy to go around at a bad pitch. Save the bad pitches for when it's 2-0 with the bases loaded.
  13. At least Madden doesn't talk about Favre when he's not in the game. Theismann would talk about Favre during a college game between ACC teams.
  14. Do you have to ask? He'll probably walk Carpenter just to make you really sweat.
  15. Had I been home, I would have said that after the first inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  16. I really hope we're not done scoring. Because if we're done scoring, we're not winning this game.
  17. I'd go along with those who were okay with Sheets starting the ninth. It couldn't have been an easy decision, though, considering that you have a pretty solid leftie specialist, and the first two hitters were lefties. At least Ned was smart enough to get the bullpen ready in case...unlike on Tuesday, when he hung Bush out to dry and left Shouse to sit on his can. Now we just have to work on this whole "one outing doesn't mean he's back" perception that apparently exists with Turnbow.
  18. Who plays left field? Who bats cleanup? Will the Brewers take advantage of a bunch of hits, or leave the door open for the bullpen to be, well, the bullpen? Will Shrek make it to Milwaukee in time? Will anyone actually show up for the game, or will all the fans be crestfallen by the loss of El Caballo? GO BREWERS! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. We're 1-2 in the games those two have started since returning, despite the fact that they've combined to allow four earned runs in 20 innings in those starts. Not to mention that our supposed ace (someone else's words, not mine) posted an awe-inspiring 2.60 WHIP today.
  20. Yeah, but Kolb would have started the ninth. So it would still probably have ended 8-4.
  21. Kolb was apparently mad about the wild pitch taking the grand slam off the table.
  22. I think it's way too early in the day to be drinking that much. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  23. OK...since we're going to second-guess many things, I'll add this to the fire: I know he was okay on Monday in a two-inning stint, but why on Earth was Matt Wise put out there for a second inning of work today? Before you answer, consider how many times Wise has struggled when coming back out for a second inning.
  24. If we trade him to the right American League team, we might not see him at MP again.
