  1. First off, there's nothing better than watching a bunch of fans for the visiting team cheer as the Cubs lose at Wrigley...again. And secondly, the Pirates somehow lead the Twins 2-0. Of course, the game is in Pittsburgh. And even with all the sign-stealing going on, the Bucs still only have two runs in off Liriano. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  2. Well, whaddaya know? I guess I may have forgotten to mention that Sabathia isn't exactly adept at paying attention to baserunners. 2-0. I like that. Get on this guy early and keep him from establishing a rhythm.
  3. By the way, for those who don't see the Indians much, Sabathia is pretty much all or nothing. His outings usually come close to one of the following: 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K 5 1/3 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 5 K He only has 16 walks so far this season, and I'm wondering if those didn't happen in about three or four different starts. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  4. If this pitching thing doesn't work out, Sabathia always has a sumo career as a possibility.
  5. Yeah, I also have to salute Ned for the sheer brilliance of allowing Moeller to hit in the seventh when the Crew had a runner in scoring position and two out against a pitcher whose pitch count was becoming a bit large. Pure, utter brilliance.
  6. Hey...with a all-or-nothing guy like Dunn, it makes perfect sense to throw him a wonderfully crushable pitch on 2-2. Wait...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  7. Thanks, guys, for completely wasting another afternoon for me. (Watched the USA bumble through a soccer game on Monday.) Absolutely ridiculous. Meat Loaf was wrong - two out of three sucks sometimes. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  8. Jenkins is only leading the Crew's pathetic show of offensive ineptitude today. He's had plenty of help screwing this game up. The only way we win this game is with someone hitting a solo home run.
  9. This team sucks. On a side note, how much was Jerry Narron praying that we'd walk Dunn there? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  10. Steve Phillips is stupid. Why would the Reds protest Clark touching second base when he never passed it? It was obvious that they were protesting something related to Weeks. And I still say Dunn didn't have that ball. He dropped it before he reached for it and before he touched the wall.
  11. Koskie gets a benefit out of playing shallow at third base, as he starts the DP to end the inning. Chuckie due up to start the fourth.
  12. Adam Dunn strikes out. In other news, water is wet.
  13. Ugh. Moeller can't even strike out right. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  14. Credit here for Jenks...(hold on, Edmonton just scored...gotta high-five the kid http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif )... Not many guys are alert enough to move up on a fly ball to the abyss like that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. I don't put a lot of stock in who bats leadoff, or who bats second, or who bats third. But Jenkins is stealing at-bats from someone--anyone--who could be hitting better. The difference in number of PAs for a #3 hitter versus a #6 or #7 hitter is enough to justify the "fascination", and I'm only advocating moving Jenks down the order until he heats up (which I know he will at some point). I'm not saying we should bench him or flat-out platoon him.
  16. Geoff Jenkins is OPSing .432 through almost half of June. AND HE'S STILL BATTING THIRD!!! Seriously, does anything else need to be said? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  17. Joe-- I don't think reaching on an error raises your OBP, but I could be 100% wrong on that. I seem to remember someone telling me that once.
  18. I wasn't home. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif Carlos Lee is OPSing .997 this month, and .921 for the season, a good .150 better than Jenkins for the season, and about .550 better than Jenkins this month. Jenkins had a 22-74 K-BB ratio entering tonight's game. Lee's is 29-22. Seriously, do you think it's fair to compare the two?
  19. Hey, look. Jenkins struck out again. Our #3 hitter is now OPSing .432 this month. But, heck, he's only costing us $104,444.44 per strikeout so far this season.
  20. Because you care more than Carlos Lee does (evidenced by his horrific outfield play).
  21. Does Carlos even care that he's in a contract year?
  22. Well, 'Rillo's put together a pretty good AB. Bad way to end it. Ugh. And, yes Daron and Bill, Joe Mauer is a hitting machine.
