Ned will just talk about how we didn't score enough and didn't hit enough and how sharp Ben looked and how much Dave Bush just battled out there to get through that inning for us. Then the soft reporters you people have in that town will thank him for his time and try to beat their deadlines without saying anything that might be construed as critical. So we can't move some bodies around and get a real hitter in the game there? Shove it, Yost.
Rick Helling has been pretty good lately. Why the hell is he still sitting out there while you continue to screw with Bush's brain? Even Schroeder is smart enough to realize that this is messing with the pitcher's head. He's just too stupid to realize that it's a bad idea to continue to do it in close games. This is pathetic. Until we get a non-stupid manager, we're not going anywhere. And it's too bad that there are apparently a lot of people who are too dense to realize this.
So is Dave Bush a starter or a reliever? And before you give me the "It's his day to throw" crap, when was the last time you saw a real team pull this garbage with one of their starting pitchers? (Yes, I know Oswalt pitched in relief for Houston recently. But that was before Houston took four days off for the All-Star break.)
OK. You have these things you carry to the plate with you. SWING THEM AT THE BASEBALL!! (Nothing I hate more than when a veteran gets caught looking. It's even worse when it happens with RISP and two out. No excuse, Damian. That's just bad.)
Night to night? How about minute to minute? Nice job, Carlos. Way to stand there and let two pitches that Chris Barnwell could have hit at least 100 feet go by.
May have happened when he slid feet-first (or, as Schroeder so astutely noted, "head-first") into second base. Hard to say. They only said it's "wrist irritation", but the announcers seemed uncertain about which wrist.
Um...so I take a shower, finish cleaning the house, and turn on the TV, and it's ALREADY 6-2? But Jenkins just struck out on a really awful swing against a lefty, so at least some things are relatively normal.
Someone explain to me why Shouse couldn't have started the inning with two dangerous lefties set to hit back-to-back. I think my heart just jumped out of my chest. Is that normal?
Let's get a snowman for insurance here. Or two runs. Or one. SOMETHING. Just don't let this be a save situation...though I'm sure it'll become one at some point.
