How Geoff Jenkins makes me feel: http://www.informatik-forum.at/pics/nb/smilies/wallbash.gif -
Oh, I do like that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Seriously, did these dopes play Little League? I'm tired of this team running themselves out of innings by making mistakes that eight-year-olds know not to make.

It's amazing how many people thought he was a waste of a roster spot when they found out he made the team. Cirillo for Comeback Player of the Year!

Tomorrow is a new day. But that doesn't mean we can't win tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

The Phillies are smokin' hot, winners of nine of ten. Myers has somehow emerged as the staff ace, even though his record is unimpressive. Can Vampire get back in the win column? Can the Brewers figure out this "scoring" thing? Can the peeps on this board go a game without having to rip Chad Moeller to shreds? We'll find out tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Chad Moeller got a hit???

Seriously...when he's pitching, just freaking stand on the bag. (Cappy would probably still pick a guy off once in a while. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif )

Another hit from Hall would have been nice, but it's great to see the team rally after the Yankees got a couple cheapies to take the lead.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

LV-- FWIW, I don't hate Bill Hall at all. Much the opposite, actually. I'm happier than a pig in slop that he's improved his plate discipline and is hitting the snot out of the baseball right now. I'm just pointing out that there's a good chance, based on his past performances, that he won't be able to sustain this over a full season. With that in mind, I would like to see him out there pretty much every day so we can keep his bat in the lineup while it's hot. If he doesn't ever cool off, then that's a bonus. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

If Hall goes into the tank and/or Hardy gets banged up trying to turn a DP, we're going to wish we had extra bodies not named "Durrington". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ned has to play Hall right now. Ride the wave until it dies out, which it probably will at some point, being that we're talking about Bill Hall. I'd rather not see Spivey so much, especially if we're showcasing him to the Yankees. What the hell are we going to get for him from the Yankees, who have a weaker farm system than just about anyone?

Nope. Not on USA Today or MLB.com as of yet.

The Crew takes the field tonight in search of their first three-game s---- of the Yankees since 1989. They beat the Yankees 5-4, 1-0, and 5-1 August 14-16. Tony Fossas, Teddy Higuera, and Mark Knutson were the winning pitchers. August 14 box. August 15 box. August 16 box.

Can anyone fill me in on who the Twins got at #80? I am on a crappy computer for the next hour that won't load MLB DraftCast. Thanks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Here's more on the hitting issue...same guy from the Cape League. He's been with the Cape for a while, so he knows his stuff when it comes to that league.
-
Here's the skinny on Braun from someone who works in the Cape League: Ryan played for Brewster up here on the Cape last summer so I know his game very well. First, great pick for Milwaukee. He was ranked the #6 prospect in the US out of high school before signing with Miami. He was the freshman player of the year in the NCAA and will be a finalist for the Golden Spikes this year. In speaking with some of my scout friends, he's the best player to come out of UM since Pat Burrell. He's got tremendous power, but he has fantastic speed. (He had 22 SB's this past year at Miami). He's going to have to prove he can hit with a wooden bat. On the Cape (wooden bat league), he hit just .180 with one HR in 59 AB's. Overall, I had a chance to sit with Ryan for an on air interview last summer and he appears to be a great kid. Overall a very good pick for the Brewers. Signability may be an issue, but I'm sure they'll get it done.

(The following comment is made with no hard research to back it up.) I have a couple contacts in the Cape League that I'm trying to get a hold of, but I'm guessing Braun wouldn't be the first kid that didn't hit in that league, but developed into a nice pro. If he would be, then there's a first time for everything. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That's how you respond to the offense giving you a lead. Mow 'em down, Dougie! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif -

Nope. (Johnson won't be out there long enough to retire Jenkins five times.) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
