  1. We never should have let him read those articles about Johnson having an off year so far. He'll probably turn Jenkins into John Kruk now.
  2. That's only because he didn't want Johnson to drill him in the syringe.
  3. I don't know about you, but I can't believe Jenkins is playing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif NY YANKEES AT MILWAUKEE -- LINEUPS NY YANKEES MILWAUKEE AVG HR RBI AVG HR RBI Derek Jeter SS .289 5 21 Brady Clark CF .336 6 25 Hideki Matsui LF .271 4 39 Jeff Cirillo 3B .265 1 8 Gary Sheffield RF .315 10 38 Geoff Jenkins RF .259 6 23 Alex Rodriguez 3B .320 17 49 Carlos Lee LF .281 14 52 Jorge Posada C .282 7 28 Bill Hall SS .296 5 21 Jason Giambi 1B .237 4 14 Wes Helms 1B .298 1 5 Bernie Williams CF .247 3 18 Junior Spivey 2B .240 4 16 Robinson Cano 2B .255 3 14 Chad Moeller C .125 1 5 Randy Johnson LHP .000 0 0 Doug Davis LHP .077 0 0 (5-4, 3.92) (7-5, 3.62)
  4. "Extreme" probably doesn't even begin to describe it when you talk about this board. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I don't think a lot of Yankee fans like him, but that's just my opinion.
  5. I can't wait to hear the ovation for Richard Sheffield in the first inning. I wish I could be there myself. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  6. In the month of May, Branyan has posted a lovely .156 batting average, with one RBI. And Branyan has as many home runs in May as I do. Desite having the same number of at-bats as he had in April, he has seven more strikeouts, five fewer home runs, 13 fewer RBIs, and eight fewer hits than he had in April. His OPS (.509) is less than half of his April OPS (1.167). Seriously, is he really one of the Brewers' best players? Because if he is, I'm cashing in my chips and getting ready for football season early this year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. Branyan has fewer home runs than Brady Clark. Seriously, is he really "one of your best players"? C'mon Scoop, as Craig Kilborn would say, you're better than that. Overbay has looked like crap for two weeks...so I'm not convinced he was a better option, either. As far as I'm concerned, Butch Wynegar should have to take each one of the horrific schlepps that picked up a bat this weekend up to Ben Sheets and Chris Capuano to offer personal apologies. Then they should do the same thing with the 72,000 or so paying customers the last two games. And then Junior Spivey and Chad Moeller should be sent to the Schaumburg Flyers where they belong.
  8. So is the fact that Chad Moeller still has a locker. This is disturbing, too. From the Journal Sentinel: Ouch.
  9. After today, it appears the Brewers are 8-9 when Moeller starts. Probably not as bad as any of us would have thought without looking it up.
  10. I'll bet you anything Spivey sits tomorrow. If he doesn't, I can think of about 30 people on this board that won't be too happy about it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. The Junior Spivey Experience: "Where the hell was that when it counted?"
  12. I'm sure Yost loves the potential of JDLR, but how about using pitchers who have actually produced in the clutch when you're trying to hold the other team down, instead of using a two-pitch pitcher that they saw yesterday. The Astros might be struggling, but they're not freaking stupid. Wise should have started the inning. At least then I wouldn't have anything to complain about, except Wise having a bad night. As it is, Wise was put in a tough spot, and couldn't work his way out of it. Maybe it would have been different had he started the inning. Hell, Julio Santana would have been a better option. All that said, this never should have been a 4-3 game going into the sixth. The Brewers can't afford to continue to embarrass themselves offensively like they have today. Nobody's pitching is good enough to overcome what the offense has pulled tonight. So, while I'm mad at Ned, the ultimate responsibility falls on the offense. And it's not just Junior and Moeller. They're just the easiest targets. Lee and Overbay haven't exactly dazzled today, either. Doug Melvin continues to share some of the blame for the fact that Chad Moeller still has a locker at Miller Park and a seat on the team charter.
  13. Sometimes, the fixation that selected people on this board have for JDLR puzzles me. This is ridiculous. I'm sure Ben's thrilled to have come back to this crap. The offense leaves the approximate prairie dog population of South Dakota on the basepaths, runs themselves out of innings, and the defense sucks. To make matters worse, Ned Yost again puzzles with his bullpen rotation, or lack thereof. Someone should hide the hat he draws the pitching order out of every day.
  14. So is it too early to pin a Ben Sheets non-victory on Junior Spivey? Or is that too negative for a Saturday? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  15. Did Moeller not want to play second base tonight? (I hope this works. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif )
  16. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO (Hey, it's a run. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif )
  17. Gameday never posted the last pitch to El Caballo. Where was it?
  18. It doesn't hurt to let Spivey play every now and then. Today, the matchup apparently favors him. Nothing wrong with that.
  19. Thanks ja. I was always wondering about that Sharpie thing, but kept forgetting to ask. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  20. I'm pretty sure I saw him play a couple years ago in the Northwoods League (summer wood-bat league with teams mainly in MN and WI), but I don't remember much about him. He went .413/.500/.774 this year at UWO. 11 HR and 42 RBI and a 26-15 BB-K ratio. And he did play in the Northwoods League in 2003, helping the Wisconsin Woodchucks (Wausau) win the league title.
  21. It was nice and loud in there after Lee's home run, and the O was loud and clear. Nice job, Brew Crew Crew. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  22. Unless Branyan and Miller are both injured/dead, I don't like that lineup. I was talking to my mom today, and she said the Brewers haven't called her yet, but she has her catcher's gear ready. That broken leg she suffered a few months ago is healed and shouldn't be a hindrance now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  23. I don't know if they're showing it on the Brewers' FSN feed, but Bert Blyleven and Bill Schroeder played wiffleball on the Metrodome Plaza. It was kind of funny. It's easy to see why Schroeder was a catcher (he didn't hit well) and why Blyleven was a pitcher (neither did he). http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
