  1. My opinion is that you should sit in the seats that you paid for - I have a feeling they are going to start getting stricter on the 2nd and 3rd levels, I've seen quite a few times this season already people getting caught moving up when the actual seat owners show up. The one exception I see being made is that if there are 6 people in a row and the rest of the row is empty - I don't have a problem if they spread out down the row to give themselves some room (if it's been a few innings and its clear no one else is showing up), but you aren't moving up in this situation.
  2. Just because someone is a cop, it doesn't make them a great person. There are plenty of bad cops, good cops and guys that fall in the middle - they are still people, just because they were a badge it doesn't make them a better person. I'm not accusing HY of anything here - but let's not forget that cops are still people, and just like any other profession, there are some good guys (and gals) and some bad ones.
  3. I'd like to hear how he justifies Pujols staring at his homeruns like they are an ocean sunset.
  4. I never understood the big deal - to me it was just Cardinals fans peeved about the sweep in their house last year and they were looking for something to nit-pick about. The crew wins 1 of 3 in that series - and they untuck in that 1 - I don't think we'd ever have heard about it. Just wondering - I know fans and commentators have, but have any opposing teams complained about it? I don't remember any, but did anyone complain prior to that series in St. Louis last year?
  5. Yeah, I don't get the guys line of thinking on that one....... What does he want Coghlan to say when he tells him his salary and what he does for a living? Also, It isn't about respecting law enforcement, last I checked he wasn't in uniform at the game and it's just a complete lack of professionalism to act with that type of arrogance/entitlement. I just don't see how Coghlan is being disrespectful to law enforcement or even the fan for that matter. I think most people here don't have an issue with what he does - it's more about his attitude.
  6. Hall actually hit his 100th the other day. Really none of my business, but if he can afford to do all those things...... clearly he is pretty well off financially, the point I'm driving at is why is he even bringing up salary in the negotiation?
  7. Alright, i know I'm opening a can of worms here - so maybe someone can just PM me - but what is the entire story behind the Jenkins 200 ball?
  8. It's probably tough from a sentimental standpoint - but Heath Bell is a darn good closer, he's perfect this season so far with a 0.00 era and 16 k's in 12.2 innings of work.
  9. Still probably better than having him hit it at home and land in this guys glove......
  10. I'd just be happy to meet the guy personally..... but that's just me. To me, your not a brewer fan if you were other teams gear at the game - regardless of the reason.
  11. Crowd was great today - I've been really impressed with the amount of fans showing for the weekday day games this early in the season. Hoffman has been insane - what is it now, 9 innings and has only given up 3 hits with 0 walks and 0 runs.
  12. There just isn't any definitive prof that he did wear down. You mean other than all his numbers? When all his numbers are down across the board over the last month and you throw in the fact that he hadn't played in that many games in nearly a decade (and only a combined 137 in the 2 prior seasons) - I'm gonna go ahead and chalk that up as a guy who was overworked. I understand numbers don't always indicate a guy wearing down - but I think it supports the argument that he wore down in this case. Regardless, you even said Kendall was overused last season - that's the main point here. He didn't say ride him into the ground, but I think 34 straight games at the end of the year would be considered riding a catcher into the ground. I am not the only one who interpreted it as Kendall likely to catch 140+ games. You did say he would ride him into the ground though in an earlier post.... that's where the poster is getting it from. Kendall also hit nearly .300 that season - if he's hitting .220, I don't see Macha running him out there for a month straight.
  13. Alright, saying it makes Braun look like a gold glover is a stretch - a big one even, probably should have put it in blue since I was being sarcastic - but he still had 85 errors between 2007 and 2008 (and 35 errors in 2006). He may have had a good stretch over the past few weeks...... but that is a small sample size compared to 3 seasons full of errors. I haven't seen Gamel play, but the scouting reports on him specifically mention his footwork and his accuracy...... scouting reports aren't always right, but the errors support this. I've loved Hall's defense this year and Prince is a below average at 1b - if Gamel was the everyday 3b....... It scares me with those 2 at the corners and Weeks has been great, but if he regressed at all, then there are 3 liablities in the infield. With the crew seemingly playing in so many close games, I'd rather have Hall at 3b right now...... don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see Gamel's bat at the major league level but I just don't see him lasting as a 3b.
  14. I hope they didn't call Gamel up just to be a pinch hitter......... and I hope they aren't trading Hall to make Gamel the everyday 3b, Gamel makes Brauny look like a gold glover. Maybe it is just to DH for the 3 upcoming series....... seems odd they would bring him up this early though.
  15. I'll be shocked if Kendall plays in more than 130 games this season - Macha wants to keep him well rested throughout the season, I don't remember reading anything that the Bush/Rivera pairing would be going away in the 2nd half or even down the stretch. If someone has a link stating that states he will be riding Kendall down the stretch, please post it. Kendall was horrible down the stretch last year because he was overworked - if you don't want to base if off his lackluster performance at the plate down the stretch, I don't have the numbers but I'd be willing to be that the sb% was up on Kendall down the stretch as well - I know the Phillies had quite a few SB in the playoffs off of him. Now you can blame all that on whatever you want, but it's not a stretch to think that his playing in more games than he had in nearly a decade had something to do with that.
  16. There is no reason Kendall should have caught both games. Kendall played in more games last season than he had in any season since 2001 - considering how he slumped down the stretch last season, (.202 BA in the final month and 2 for 14 in the playoffs with 0 walks) I think we can conclude it caught up with him. As others have said, Yost wasn't the reason the team emerged from mediocrity - the talent is. Most of us could put a long list together of mind boggling things Yost did....... the positional batting order is something I'll never forget about him. Back on point, Hall has experience in the OF - not shocking to see him get a start out there. Sure, if Yost would have done it, there may have been some grumblings because Yost drove us to question everything he did - but in reality, he has OF experience so it's not a shock. I like what I've seen from Macha - he does a much better job of handling the bullpen and isn't afraid to a pull a pitcher before he has the big inning.
  17. As they say, it takes two to tango - Whether your the one who initiates or the one who responds, your just as guilty and if your arguing with drunk cubs fans, then your no better. Don't get me wrong, I hate the cubs and they have a large number of +@%%%@* fans - but I'd much rather watch the ballgame than sit there and argue with some guy that doesn't know when to stop drinking.
  18. There is no way I'd bring my little ones to a cubs/brewers night game - we made the exception on Mothers day because it was a day game and with it being mother's day, we figured the crowd would be more mellow. The difference between the crowd on the sat night game and the sunday day game was........... well, night and day. Generally speaking though, the day games always seem to be more of a family atmosphere while the night games get the rowdy crowds - it's just intensified in cubs/brewers games.
  19. The wife and I went Saturday and we also ended up bringing our two little ones on Sunday ( 6 mos and 2 years ) - wife woke up and wanted to go on Sun., told her it was her day and up to her...... I obviously wanted to go, but she pushed for it...... what can I say, I found a good onehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif We already sold our season tix to a co-worker, but found some nice seats on the club level at the last second. Packed up the kiddies and made the drive down from GB and got in our seats during the bottom of the 1st. Anyhow, back on point, Sunday's game was a much calmer crowd - Saturday's game, we saw 2 altercations in the section next to us. Best part was that it was cubs fans going at it with other cubs fans. First one was a group of middle 20's people and a guy and girl got into it, she hit him in the face a few times as they were walking out to the concourse...... few minutes later they ended up back in their seats and the chick was so drunk she nearly fell down the stairs (guard rail literally saved her). Was surprised security didn't boot them. Second one, two adults started yelling at who I assume was their son, kid was also bombed and hanging on the front rail on the club level - Mom told him to sit his ass down and he gave her attitude, his dad didn't like that too much and walked down to the first row (they were a few rows up but the kid kept hanging in the 1st row) and grabbed him hard enough to knock his cell phone out of his sweatshirt and then dragged him out....... I thought he was gonna knock him a good one for a bit. Security escorted them out. Funny thing is, both these altercations were right after the big inning.
  20. Positives: - Hart's approach, the walks and 2 opposite field blasts. - Weeks, most are impressed with his bat - as am I - but I'm more impressed with his D. He made 2 great defensive plays in the opener and that throw on Sat. could have been better, but it beat the runner and that's all that matters. - Gallardo - Macha, I like what I've seen for the most part. Negatives: - Goes without saying, but Soup..... I would have rather seen Soriano hit a granny last night....... at least make them earn it. - JJ and Braun both have started out slow, JJ doesn't worry me because he is streaky..... always has been, but Brauny seems to be pressing right now, although it was nice to see him take the walk last night. - Kendall...... off to a slow start would be an understatement. I had to keep reminding myself last night that we are only 6 games in.......
  21. I think we need to give macha a little time with the team before we start calling him yost - as for Bush last night, if Soriano is called out at first on that DP (which he should have been - it was nearly a half a step) Then Bush only has 2 ER's over 6 & 1/3 rather than 3 ER's........ I've got no complaints with that one. The issue wasn't Bush last night, the bullpen giving up 2 HR's and 3 runs in the last 2 innings was. I know everyone likes to hate on Soup, I'm not a fan myself - but it makes sense to give the vet the start on opening day. The cubs hit him hard last year, but he did have a lot of success against them in years prior and he's always pitched better at Miller than on the road. If we can get a few runs on Dempster - and based on last year, that is a big if - I like our chances tonight.
  22. Magnet is gone to Razzzorsharp - Sorry DMiles
  23. I'm not seeing it on Dish Network either...... maybe I'm wrong, but I thought they showed some of the games that were on wmlw?
  24. I still need one. I sent you a PM. It's yours unless Razzzorsharp still needs one - will give him until Monday to reply.
