  1. "If you can move a player for cheap young starting pitching you move that player. As much as I like McGehee if a team offers a good young pitcher or a cost controlled pitcher for him I would take that deal. The Brewers need some good young pitching and if it means trading McGehee for it then you have to trade McGehee for that. The Brewers still do have some flexibility with Gamel, Lawrie, and Green in the minors to replace McGehee at 3B." ...well sure, if a team is going to give you that for Casey...or just about any player we have...I would do that. I question if DM can get that kind of return. If possible; rock on.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought guys like Casey that are cheap, under control and seem to be able to play are guys we look for... not to move. Prince, for good or ill, is the kind of player(s) this team has to move on.
  3. Some good points here about the approach more then the guy. If it is someone who is willing to think outside the box, et al...that is who I'd like to try regarless of the name.
  4. Vegas cures all.
  5. These are neat. It would be interesting to see a break down of game the Braves played in Boston, Milwaukee and Altanta.
  6. why is Ken taking ab-bats away from Edmonds???!!!!11!!
  7. As long as he owns an AL team and not an NL team, I'd be fine with it.
  8. I'm a bit late into the thread, but want to echo the thoughts on NOT spending money for 2011 and focus on 2012. With that in mind, I'd like to see 2011 used in part to see if Cain or Gomez can "win" the CF job, or if a 2012 FA will need to be added (like the Cameron years). That would also give us one more year of Casey @ 3rd and (hopefully) Lawrie can have that gig for 2012. Now, is it worth another portion of 2011 to give Manny another rotation shot, or is he just bull-pen bound and be done with it?
  9. Jim Rushford just needs some at-bats.
  10. The Rays really have an Expos feel to them.
  11. Man, I really hope the 'Crew can come back with another 10+ runs again tonight. Be a great welcome back for Lou!
  12. Strikeouts are an anathema to the hitting Gods.
  13. Lawrie - 3B...I'll ask this again as I really don't know. Is he really ready for 3rd at the big-league level already in 2011? Wouldn't this cost the team a year of service time better used on the back end?
  14. After reading this thread, are we assuming Lawrie @ 3rd already for 2011? I thought he might be the 2012 starter @ 3rd, but not 2011.
  15. I'd like to see Ryan hit #2 in that line up, but overall the 'Crew could do much worse then that.
  16. Not adding anything other then what an interesting article and comments. I love this part of BF.
  17. I was wondering today (assming Prince gets moved) if Hart to 1st, Gamel to RF and another year of Casey at 3rd is what (currently) is the plan. I don't see how this improves the defense much.
  18. Just because of the time he has been in the org, et al. I seem to recall Prince and another player really didn't want to play there.
  19. ...couldn't Matt refuse this assignment?
  20. Would Gamel balk at doing the fall league?
  21. Ditto the Dave Ramsey thought.
  22. "...I live in Minnesota and am married into a family of Twins fans..." Looks like And That has constructed his own personal Hades.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. One could argue that the draft is pretty unfair. Why should a big business get to tell a player (worker) where they have to go to be employed? Same thing with this age requirement in some of the other leagues. Talk about interference with the right to work.
  24. I saw 3 Days Grace last summer and loved them.
  25. There is a team from a small school that had to suit-up their manager to play RF this summer. She was one of the best softball players in the school...but obviously if they are down to 8 kids, there are issues.
