  1. Anyone who really is a Redd hater should have watched tonight's game. W/o him, they would have been lucky to score 60. I know he isn't perfect an all that, but he is by far (and by far I mean really far) the best offensive player on that team.
  2. Trwi7 has got it right I'm guessing, this is a $ driven move. Conley (I think) would be a Skiles kind-of-guy. I'm not much of a Sessions fan, but that's just me I guess. I wonder if this might be a way to try to keep CV and stay under the cap. I'll disagree that moving Redd is a good idea. While he is $$$, Milwaukee would be 26th in offense w/o him. RJ had to come here to get rid of Simmons...made it worth it right there. I wonder if the front office just doesn't see much of a future already for Alexander and with Prince doing what he has done, that move would make sense.
  3. It's odd that the end of the world as we know it is fast approaching, yet I feel fine.
  4. Just a thought, but if DM gets this deal done, I wonder if there is any chance for some $ to come with Swisher? If the 'Crew takes his $21 million and loses Cam's $10 million...maybe a split of the $11 or so left over? That would seem to be a very DM move.
  5. "Everyone knows the world is ending on December 21st, 2012." I'd assume we should suggest to DM to backload contracts?
  6. Primetime...were you guys at Dooley's Pub on Water? I saw that article in the EC leader the other day, too. Doug comes off as a pretty good guy in it.
  7. ...so Braun 2 and Prince 4 with Rickie #3...?
  8. Ive enjoyed what I have seen from Ken Burns and that Baseball retrospective he did years ago. I've only seen bits and pieces (both when it came out and now), but it's pretty neat.
  9. It's nice company when I can't sleep at 4am because my stupid back is killing me. However, I've had enough of Al Leiter.
  10. Just throwing this out there, but does having Hoffman (assuming we have Hoffman) and CV both at the end of the pen present a problem as they both depend upon the change-up?
  11. RJ has been adaqute, but it would be nice to get more then that. Granted I have not seen a lot of sets for him, but still.
  12. What difference does it make if he is called the #1,2, 3 or 4th guy? Don't they all get about the same amount of starts? Id just guess that he will give the 'Crew about 180 IP (close to Yo) but be much more 'up and down' in his performance. ERA of around 4.00?
  13. Better then Jim Irwin?
  14. Jim has also slid intothe role of 'helping' Bob out as needed. Not that Uke isn't great and all that...but pretty clear that Jim takes the role of co-star to Bob. That's pretty important to the broadcast.
  15. I don't know about guessing on wins, but if he can go around the 185 IP mark and an ERA below 3.50 I'd be down with that.
  16. I wonder if Rickie would benifit from hitting, say 3rd. Braun in front of him and Prince in the #4 spot. Just a thought, but yea he has to play.
  17. I'll agree with the poster that points out the pen might be better off if CV can be used in more then just the closer role. One more arm (IMO) would raise the comfort level (for me) but all in all, it is the depth of the rotation that worries me.
  18. Pulling for CV to nail down the 'closer' role. If he does, McClung can stay in the rotation. I'd assume it would also mean we can get more value out of CV. I'd suspect we still will see a vet added to the mix, but might not happen until spring trainging. Maybe its the goggles, but I don't see the pen as that much of a weakness, unless the rotation beaks down. IMO, there is where the 'Crew has a depth issue.
  19. Lets just go to 3 downs like the CFL. That would change things up.
  20. I read the Lue to the Lakers too. Phil wants a back-up point that know the triangle. I guess it would be Ok. I like the Houston part to make it a 3-way better. So long as a contract is shed; its a good deal. Interesting benchmark game V the Pistons tonight. Detroit has beaten the Bucks like a rented mule (no offense to rented mules) the past few seasons. Let's see what Skiles has up his sleeve.
  21. I have shoes older then most of you guys.
  22. New 'Crew hat; very nice. My daughter got at least 4 toys that will require great physical leaps of strength combines with steely never to assemble. I swear the Chinese are going to overwhelmed the western world via the disabilities cause by 'some assembly required.'
  23. An idea that seems sound, based upon the article. However, the college or pro coach that tried to put this practice in place may not survive beyond one game. Fans and media would cause a near riot...might be amusing to see.
  24. Since today is the anniversary of the Suppon deal, be a great day to add Looper.
