  1. I think the rational is that it might fit Rickie's skill-sets better to hit outside the 1-hole. Before you guys decide to hang me; relax a bit. I stated that it would be an interesting idea; not that Ned must implement it now or be banned to the netherworld.
  2. If Dhonks is suggesting a flip of Hart for Weeks in the batting order; I'd consider that an interesting idea.
  3. pneumonia...who gets in in July...oh yea; Me! It's lots of fun.
  4. Bring as much to the table as possible. If you can coach, advise a club, drive a bus; anything that adds additional services to a district (especially a small district) moves you way up the food chain.
  5. ...well, I know this will not make it cheaper to resign him. Pretty sure on that...
  6. Good for Ben. The pricetag just went up a bit.
  7. 2B Rickie Weeks SS JJ Hardy LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Russell Branyan CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall P Manny Parra CF Jerry Hairston SS Jeff Keppinger RF Ken Griffey Jr. 2B Brandon Phillips 3B Edwin Encarnacion 1B Joey Votto LF Jay Bruce C David Ross P Josh Fogg
  8. I thought we traded for Jeffery. Sean Berry was a bad deal. I didn't mind the Rick Manning trade, I might be in the minority on that one. Hammonds, obviously. Not getting Nomar to sign after we drafted him. Cirillo deal with the Rockies; I really hated that @ the time. Not trading Dave Nillison when we could have. Not trading Rock after he had like 14HR in 87 or whatever it was. California wanted him, but Harry played hard to get.
  9. Point grad ('95). Lived in EC and now have emigrated to LaCrosse. All three of the communities are nice places to live and super schools. EC was a bit far from MP and Milwaukee for my tastes, but still nice. LaCrosse is neat. I loved Point, but the schools have to be the right fit. Regardless, if you find one that is, the rest of the 'stuff' will fall in-line (just my opinion).
  10. ...never thought of hooking the kids up in one section while I swill away in another...interesting.
  11. Im more of a 'you are what you are' guy.
  12. maybe Gabe Gross is available. Seriously LH bat that could help in the OF would be very nice.
  13. I'd like to see baseball uniforms in the Kim Jong Il wardrobe style.
  14. I'd have to agree that while being a true-blue contender is very cool...some time I miss the days of Brady Clark hitting 4th. When I first found Brian's site in 2003; felt like I joined some underground cult, but in a good way!
  15. Agreed. Soup's contract was the going rate at that time. If the 'Crew is going to move him and want to go with a cheaper replacement, let's have one ready first; not sure whom that would be.
  16. I don't stay up late either. I want to believe they will make the playoffs; but I am already accepting it if they don't. Sad to say, I'm just glad they are rolling the dice and making a play for it. Guess I'm easy. Bob has struggled the last couple of years, but he is our guy so that is good enough for me. I secretly think Ned isn't that bad and still really hate strike out and (man, don't tell anyone this) find a place for 'small ball.'
  17. Could be time for Mota to 'be hurt.'
  18. I'm just guessing that Seth will go to the pen. I'd rather it be Dave Bush. I was sort of thinking he would be there @ the start of the season. Anyway, I'll say McClung to the pen and Stetter goes down.
  19. If the Tigers would have hit a bit in the Metrodome, that would have gone down as a super trade. Detriot would have made the series. Funny how things work out... Go Crew!
  20. AM-1100 (WTAM-Cleveland) is pretty reliable if you want 'Tribe info. Nice Website too. I'm sort of (actually very much of) a radio geek.
  21. Isn't part of the reason to have a stock pile of minor league prospects is to be able to deal a few from time-to-time to help out the big league club? Can't keep them all.
  22. Well. the 'Crew would have as good of a chance as signing CC for 09 as Sheets...I'm for rolling the dice on this deal, but it's not my neck on the line either.
  23. Agreed on splitting the lefties with either Hart or Gabe, but I'll give in to "The Man" on this one.
