  1. Just throwing this out there, but after a season (say 180.IP) and you looked at ERA and WHIP, do you think you could get a pretty clear view of a guy? With a pullpen guy, couldn't you just go with runners scored (with some lookback at fielding % per IP)? You guys are smarter then me, so let me in on your wisdom.
  2. My guess is that Hall would have stayed @ 3b and we would have waited another year with Ryan (good for the arby). The O would have been about the same, unless Billy would have moved to 2b and then Braun came up to play 3rd. We would have needed CV in the rotation but with Capplen and Spurling (maybe Yo or Oxpring) the pen would be Ok, just not as good as right now. DD would have still been traded and maybe Jenkins. We would be looking for someone to share time with Geoff as Hart would be (and should be today) in CF.
  3. Seeing Craig Council, Tony Gwynn and Rickie Weeks all in the same line up. Throw in the pitcher and gee, I freaking wonder why the offense struggles? When you sit around your house waiting for someone that is late. You really can't start doing something else, but you don't know how much longer you have to cool your heels waiting for the moron.
  4. Wes could have sat on part of the tarp. That should have saved the infield.
  5. Was there a FA option for the pen this past winter? Maybe that would have been part of the deal w/o Suppan and moving Geoff. Lee would have soaked up most of the $, but that might have been an option. I wonder if Billy might have ended up on the block for pitching too?
  6. Do you see some type of unfolding of events that would have made the 'Crew better if Lee would have been able to be re-signed?
  7. Just for fun, lets play 'What if." What if Carlos and DM would have worked out a deal to keep him as our LF? Would Hart have gotten his chance to play? Where would Billy have ended up? I assume that Suppon would not have been signed, so would CV have gotten that spot in the rotation? Would the 'Crew have waited longre to bring up Ryan? Any other what if's? Thoughts? This might be a fun game to play while we wait for the 2nd 1/2. I do know our line-up would have been impressive.
  8. Hard to hit the off-speed stuff while in a rage. Got to be cool to go the other way.
  9. As has been pointed out, if DM really wants Tony up, whatever. I'd rather see the guy get to play @ the AAA level, but if the brain-trust is willing to give up his opportunity to get Ab's to sit on the bench in Milwaukee, fine with me. However, I'd be rather alarmed if Tony is going to take Ab's away from any of the other 4 outfielders. I hope a deal for an OF is in the works.
  10. I was thinking sort of along the same line. Yi and his "homies" might need some minutes assured to him. Role explained (not setting 10,000 screens for the guards) and an opportunity to be comfortable. If that doesn't work, then Larry needs to deal. One would think he could and should use his Dad (or hire him as an assistant coach) to seal the deal.
  11. If Sheets pulls the 'Crew thru today (warning, must win alert), then we split the series. Not bad on the road. As mentioned before, kind of thought you might lose V Shell yesterday, same way we sort of expect to win everytime Ben takes the mound.
  12. Someone else might have already suggested this, but would the 'Crew be interested in Mark as to block him from going to another contender (and an indirect to make our pen stronger) ?
  13. I sort of felt bad for Frank Thomas this week when he got to his 500. I thought he made a great point on doing it the 'right way.' For me, if I could have a prospect have 3000 hits or 500 HR; I'd take either one. However, I'd think the 3000 hits almost assures that the player had pretty good health, or at least length to his career.
  14. Ace, Stopper or Cheese sandwich. Call him whatever you would like, but the dude has been worth gold this year. Hopefully on the all-star team.
  15. Most pitchers throw different pitches out of different "slots." Wise throws both his change up as well as his fastball out of the same slot, or arm angle and a hitter has no way of tipping off the pitch. It's not important at all how fast the fastball is, the important thing is the difference in speeds. A 15-20 mph difference has the same effect of a 100mph fastball and an 85 mph change, versus a 85 mph fastball and a 70 mph change. What you said. Whole thing is that he doesn't tip anything. Clearly, there are guys in AA that have 'stuff' as good as Wise. What seems to work for him is not tipping and very, very good control. I think it's crazy, but seems to work.
  16. If the Bucks get Corey Brewer, they are going to be very luckey and happy the draft turned out as such. He is going to be a real nice NBA player (IMO).
  17. CV might be the 3rd best arm on the team.
  18. Draft Brewer and we have to find away to gvie Bobby away (I'm Ok with that). Go for Conley and Mo is going to go. I'm guessing but I'd assume that Hortford, Conley and Brewer are 3-4-5 in some order. That leave B. Wright...
  19. I didnt know the game was on TV. I turned it on just as as fluke. A) I'm clearly unaware and B) this is manna from heaven. Praise the baseball (and FOX-WI) Gods!
  20. I'm only half joking, but if he could learn to catch a bit (big if), Sean would be in the big leagues for a long time.
  21. Yo has a OPS of 1.667. He needs to play everyday!
  22. Peavey makes a good point, but I'd add that CoCo spots the fastball on and off the corner better then T-bow.
  23. Remember in '02 when many of us were way jacked up 'cause we got two guys on the All-Star team? Sure were good times. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. 5-7 game lead @ the break. Works for me.
  25. I'll be there. Last night was a blast. We will see how today goes. Hope the 'Crew is into taking some pitches from this kid. Runs might be hard to find today.
