  1. That is a good point. We may see 13 pitchers thru the doubleheader. It is nice to have that 2nd LHP. Sure is nice to alo be talking about not having enough room in Milwaukee for all the major-leauge level pitchers on the roster.
  2. Bill Michaels, Dan O'Donnell and Jeff Falconio. ...these guys...not to change the direction of the tread but...man...
  3. To me that does seem like a low price. Maybe I do not value TGJ enough. I suppose the $ on the FLA side of things is an issue. I'd do it, but we know that the past full season of baseball have been pretty average for Dontrelle. Now if the 'Crew were able to get him and he wins four or five down the streach to hold off the Cubs, I'd appreicate the irony in that.
  4. Arby big-league starting pitchers are pretty darn valuable. I'd be very, very leery to moving two, let alone one.
  5. When Hall went down, I was pulling for Joe to get the call. I assumed he wouldn't but IMO the 'Crew has one more LHB in the OF then needed.
  6. I agree that Rickie would be better off on the DL and then a rehab stint. Would that make the 'Crew in the market for an IF?
  7. I played and coached a lot of sports and this stuff never botherd me. Now, as a fan I can see it more an admit that it rubs me a bit. Back in the day as a player and then when I went to the sidelines and pretended to coach; never really noticed or cared much.
  8. UWSP '94. Undergrad. Secondary Ed. Government an all that social studies stuff. Winona State. Masters '03. Education-Administration. Went to the dark side. While spending 5.5 years in Point, I did tons of work study gigs (computer labs mostly) and worked about 1,000 basektball camps. Also did the bartending thing, 3rd shift factory in the summer et al. Seems like a long time ago.
  9. I might be off base here... but c'mon Larry. They (the Chinese) said he wasn't interested in playing here...now this. What did you expect? Dude, they are the CHINESE. Don't screw with them, just draft Brewer or do the Golden State trade and get Richardson before they move him to the Hawks. I kind of do blame Larry here. I'd like to have Yi but of all the guys in the draft; he is the one that does have leverage not to sign. Bigger question is how the Association is going to treat Yi's playing on the national team. I'll wager a dollar that we either trade Yi or lose his rights. China>Milwaukee. Sorry...end of rant.
  10. ...as Kid Rock would say "it ain't braggin if you back it up..."
  11. Where would this team be w/o Ryan Braun? Wow. Nice job DM (And Ryan of course).
  12. If I could change two things is would be to go to a world-wide draft and allow draft picks to be traded.
  13. Nice to get Des back...I guess. Kind of feels like back to the future (without the vests). He is better then Ruben, I think anyway. Bring back Darvin Hamm and the Bucks are good to go.
  14. He was "PrinceBecomesKing". But now, with the "simple use of a proxy" we'll never know who he is! He's lurking among us right now! Oh Noes! We're such loozers! PBK FTW! It's like we are on Battlestar Galactica.
  15. Club seats are a nice place to watch the game. About my favorite spot in MP.
  16. I thought the same about the Balfour V Parra situation. I suspect they both will find a way onto the playoff roster. Hope that Spurling can get back soon.
  17. ...or Wings without Paul and Lyndon Station without making it rain.
  18. I wonder if in the heat of we hope is a playoff push, if the 'Crew will end up being better off with Tony playing at least 50% of the time. Long term I'd think almost everyone is pulling for Weeks. Short term (and Ned tipped his hand on this) the 'Crew might be better off with a little less Rickie. Guess Milwaukee has moved past the 'Land of Opportunity" to the "Village of Expectations."
  19. I was there Friday too. Nice when the Crew wins, but it was a funtime anyway. Congrats on the ball.
  20. I clearly remember that 5 for 1 trade the Phils and the Indians pulled off. At the time the Phillies were declared the winner (Von Hayes being the best player they got back). Might have been the single best player moved made in Cleveland in the 1980's. If this was 2002, Julio would be in Milwaukee tonight and hitting #2.
  21. To me Mo is much more a 2-guard. However, I'd rather not watch Bell play the point for 81 games. That could be...bad. He has some game and can defend some, but no way he can break anyone off the dribble or truly defend other points. I'd be more then up to trading just about anyone (save Redd) for a top-notch point. My issue with Larry is that we are just moving the deck chairs around. We had a PG that was soild enought (TJ) and now we are back chasing a need again. Even if CV pans out this year (and that is going to have to be as a 6th man) hard to justify that trade. Moving Blake last year was just silly. No way Earl was a starting point guard. That said, we trade for him...then let him leave without another plan. All this seems very "1990's Milwaukee Brewer-like". Now we have the Yi issue...It just seems that the Bucks (Larry Harris et al) are making this way to hard. I'm not even going to bring up the coaching mess(es) that we have had since George left.
  22. I'm 40 today. I figure 40 down, 40 to go. Means I should be around for one or two more pennet drives.
  23. I only wonder whether the same people who talk about clogging up the basepaths also talk about how home runs kill rallies. Holding both of these views at the same time might cause a rip in the fabric of time.
  24. Question. Would you rather have this contract to deal with or Lee's in Houston?
  25. Someone else started to make this point. To me, Dan has sounded board for awhile. I use to like the show a lot. Now, seems stale. I suspect doing that show everyday can be a grind. Sports are great, but might get a bit dry to do everyday.
