  1. You repeat the article twice there. The second time it's in italics. Good article. I hope the Brewers select Maybin if Zimmerman is already taken. As usual, great job on draft coverage Patrick!!! It is because of your work that I care and am actually interested in the MLB draft. Thanks.
  2. Probably not. The way I read it, the DFE's have to be signed by the 31st making Monday the 30th the last day to sign them. When Tuesday rolls around, they better be signed or you're out of luck.
  3. Not quite a Haiku.
  4. I guess that means we can cross Ryan Zimmerman's name off. I wouldn't put much stock in what Gammons says.
  5. Well, we drafted Prince when we already had Richie Sexson, Brad Nelson, and Corey Hart all playing first. You can always move someone to the OF or to first. Or it is also possible that a few will fail and not make it. Freak injuries, not so freak injuries, mental blocks, anything could possibly happen.
  6. Neighborgall seems like the next Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn. Maybe he needs some new glasses.
  7. I just looked the number up on the Cornhuskers' website. I assume pohlmanfield meant to post Alex Gordon's picture. I can't imagine that he meant Opitz.
  8. His name is Jake Opitz. He is a freshman and isn't eligible for the draft yet. He is hitting .244 with a .311slg and .337obp. Personally, I would rather have Alex Gordon (he wears #4) but he won't fall to us. Right now, he will either be the #1 pick or the #2 pick in the draft.
  9. Hank can't be too pleased right now.
  10. I think it sounds like the Brewers embarrassing the Pirates.
  11. Shannon's title is also incorrect. It lists his title as Director of Minor League Operations, the same as Michael.
  12. Aren't the three Johnson's triplicates?
  13. I think it shows that this site is starting to become pretty well known among Brewer fans. I know I have personally told a lot of people about it. Probably the same with some of the others. Congrats Brian.
  14. Sweeeeeet. There is a new Jose K in town. And it is good.
  15. I'm having trouble too.
  16. Well, now Kane and Wickman are the only guys from that trade with either team. Kane left, but like the cat that comes back, he came back to us.
  17. The Phillies just claimed Pedro Liriano off waivers from us.
  18. I had a friend tell me about it. He heard about this site from JP.
  19. Excellent work, as always, Patrick. I enjoyed the article. Thanks.
  20. I have to say that I love the brewerfan man logo at the top. He looks kinda like Gorman Thomas. Great job!!
  21. CarolinaTommy, in your opinion, what do you think about his chances at third? Can he do it? And how likely would he be to stick there? This is just something I was wondering. And thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
  22. What browser are you using? That might help the guys who know about this sort of thing (i.e. probably not me) to diagnose the problem.
  23. Now I looked at 1997. That has to be one of the worst drafts ever. Only Bucky and Kyle Peterson made the majors. Bucky made it THIS YEAR WITH SEATTLE. Kyle Peterson is now a broadcaster. He never panned out. This was disgustingly bad. Horrible. Did they even scout these guys? Scouts would have noticed the problem with Kyle's delivery and might have weeded some of these stiffs out. I'm going to stop looking back on Bando drafts. It's just too depressing. It makes me want to help Sal Bando kill himself. edit: If the Crew hires Kyle to be our broadcaster, it might look better. Well, it wouldn't, but we should still hire Kyle.
  24. Looking back at the 1998 draft, that wasn't too good. Of all the picks Nuke and Billy Hall were the only one to make the bigs. And Hall is the only one with a future in the bigs. Hall is the only thing we have left to show for that draft. That was bad. It is just sad to think on all the guys we passed on. I forgive them for selecting Gold. His stuff was great even if his arm was a ticking time bomb with a short fuse. Same with Nuke. But the rest... They should have signed a few more guys they drafted that year. Then maybe another would have beat the odds. At least 2000 wasn't like 1998, although it could be if Hart or Krynzel fail.
