  1. Absolutely inexcusable for Estrada to basically give Holliday 2nd in that situation, probably gonna cost us the ballgame.
  2. KRod leaves Pujols, Holliday, Berkman for Axford in the 9th. Not very nice of him.
  3. Uecker said he talked to Rickie before the game today, and he was feeling good about the rehab so far. Cast is off, and he's walking on it.
  4. Maybe because it's the day after the trade deadline? Perhaps Melvin sees some reason to keep him in the minors if he's still considered trade bait. This is the only thing that makes sense to me. There's no way, IMO, he's a PTBNL in the KRod deal, but I think he could be a chip in another.
  5. 1. Wolf 2. Betancourt 3. McGehee 4. Counsell 5. Hart
  6. A rival official on Riggleman: "I wouldn't hire him for Double-A or Triple-A job. You can't walk away... when you're under contract." Yeah, he should've played out the string so the Nats could fire him in August! Maybe so, but good luck finding another job. Even if you convince a GM to bring you in, how are you going to get the players behind you when he walked away from a team like that? He just fried his managerial career in my opinion, though his agent says he'll coach again. My thoughts exactly, I have no idea who'd touch him after this, and if I was Mike Rizzo I would've wanted to see how the season played out before extending him as well. I'm not sure what Riggleman has ever done to feel so entitled to anything at this point. Here's a thought, why don't you finish out the season and EARN a contract, if there's issues with the Nats then they'll be other teams interested in bringing you in. The irony is that this was a totally selfish decision, and yet, was likely the worst thing he could've done for his career. Good luck finding your next Bench Coach job Jim.
  7. So is Mad River Bar the brewerfan.net recommend bar to go to before the game? Anyone ever been to Kettle of Fish, that's another recommended bar I found online for Brewer fans.
  8. Yep. My younger brother lives in Connecticut and I'm heading out there to visit him next week to play some golf, and we're going to the Tuesday game. We have front row seats in the the left field bleachers (section 136). Projected starters are Greinke vs. Gordon, I hope it stays that way!
  9. and I'm looking forward to Greinke starting on June 28th @ Yankee Stadium... double Noooo!
  10. It has been a whole season of crap Casey McGehee in the 5 hole. Why wasn't he bumped down after 27 bad ABs until he finds his swing. I wish I knew, especially once Hart got hot. Doesn't mean he's wrong in doing it to Lucroy though.
  11. Who would bat 2nd then? Gomez? Kotsay? Lucroy is in a slump. If Hart needed a day off, I'm glad it's during a game that Morgan is playing.
  12. Lucroy is 3 for his last 27 at bats (.111 avg). With 2 RBIs, 11 strikeouts, and 0 walks. There nothing wrong with bumping him down a little until he finds his swing again. I wish Hart was in the lineup, but it's tough to judge that decision. Hart's the only starter on the pine so it's not like RR's going with a "B squad" lineup or anything... he has been sick lately maybe he needs to rest up. I'm just delighted to see that RR has apparently decided to exclusively use Morgan vs. RHP.
  13. Since our 7 game losing streak, we're 20-7, haven't lost consecutive games, and we're 7-5 on the road. If the playoffs started today we'd be in em'. If we can stay healthy it's gonna be a great season.
  14. How come?I'm pretty sure it's that first picture posted by Tailgat0r, that's basically the imagine of him that is burned into my brain. I just can't get past it.
  15. WOW, is this for real? There nothing to complain about here. What is everyone supposed to talk about now? The weather?
  16. I've always find myself pulling for our former prospects when they make it to the bigs, especially if they're in the American League. Cruz, yes. Brantley, yes. LaPorta, yes. Cain, Escobar, yes, yes. Lawrie... not so much.
  17. ?? After sweeping the Pirates, Rockies, Nationals, and taking two of three from the Padres and Giants, just how many times do they have to win games like this before people stop thinking that they aren't winning games like this? Those are some very nice home series you listed, I think cnycerveceros is talking about winning road games/series though. We certainly have to take advantage of tonights pitching matchup, there's no reason not to get a win tonight despite being on the dreaded.... ROADhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  18. We can't be losing matchups like these! I predict a completely unreadable IGT if we get behind in this one. Come on Zack, shut em down!
  19. Just last season we won 45.6% of our road games and we only won 47.5% of our total games. There is no reason we should be as bad on the road as we have been so far this year, but there's also no reason why we should be at good as home as we have this year either. I guarantee our road win PCT will improve drastically, but we're not going to continue to win 75% of our home games. The 2 adjustments over time will probably end up being a wash in total PCT.
  20. Good list of baserunning bottom feeders, I'd also add Ronnie Belliard.
  21. OK, I'll make an adjustment to my baseball dictionary then and correct my prediction. I'd also like to see a straight platoon, with Morgan batting 2nd when he starts. But, I expect RR to impose a soft platoon, with Morgan batting 8th when he starts.
  22. Just to clarify, when I think of a straight platoon, I think 2 players spitting PT 50-50, with your RH hitting platoon player getting the vast majority of the starts against opposing LHP starters. I believe lefties compromise about 25-30% of the starting rotations, which would mean in a straight platoon, Gomez would still be starting against a right handed pitcher 20-25% of our games. With everybody saying that they are in favor of a straight platoon, I guess I'm surprised because I thought that was just more Gomez than I thought people here wanted to see vs RHP, with a healthy Morgan available. Unless when you're saying straight platoon you mean, Gomez vs LHP, Morgan vs RHP????
  23. Morgan's projected OBP seems low to me. I think he'll be on more like .340-.350. That's kind of what I'm expecting, and based on that I'd like to see him start regularly and bat 2nd (actually I'd like him to leadoff and bat Weeks 2nd, but that's not going to happen). I'd probably give Gomez the start against lefties most of the time. But, I expect RR to have Morgan in a fairly straight platoon with Gomez and bat him 8th.
