  1. Five of us put in 4 hours of work to make about $300. Am I missing something here, they paid $15/hr/volunteer to your organization... that's slave labor? Seems more than fair especially considering it also costs MP money to constantly train the volunteers.... they could be more efficient and profitable hiring their own staff. The non-profits are benefiting from this arrangement, not the Brewers.
  2. I would actually argue that getting up and down 8 times is worse than the 100 pitch total. I'm guessing that's what's crossing Counsell's mind early in this season. I'd argue. It's the long innings, deep counts, managing base runners, and pitching out of the stretch with RISP that burns your arm up.... not jogging to the dugout after a clean inning. For me the single most exhausting situation was a guy fouling off multiple 2 strike pitches, while pitching out of the stretch, with RISP.... multiple consecutive max effort pitches, from the stretch. 4 pitches like that is worse than a whole inning without base runners.
  3. .... and then laughing on the field about it. Fans will be a lot more patient with him if it doesn't look like he's just being lazy, and doesn't care. That drew some boos yesterday. It'll also help when he starts hitting and stealing bases. This is so American. Because he laughed, we assume he doesn't care. Notice I said "look like". Just out of curiosity, what are the non-American gestures for not taking things seriously? Aren't you the guy that called him a "mental midget" in the Opening Day thread?

  5. Yes, definately. It primarily stems from recruiting. If you don't follow that part of college basketball I could see how you wouldn't be aware of it.
  6. I have no issues with someone that wants to wear other professional team hats, but a Badger fan wearing Marquette gear? That I can't get my head around.
  7. Right, I mean Stearn's leverage in the negotiation for the PTBML is $100, right? .... unless there's more to it, its someone that is basically worthless to Boston.
  8. I've never heard of half of these guys, and the ones I do know are way past their prime.
  9. FS Wisconsin showed at least 2 angles that clearly showed his foot was off the bag. What a joke.
  10. I used to sit through doubleheaders at 7 and 8 years old before there was any frills. Being there watching my heroes like Mathews and Aaron I didn't want to miss a thing. The only time I was antsy was between games watching the ground crew spruce up for the second game. When my parents took me to single games, I felt bummed because I didn't get to spend enough time at the ballpark. and your parents sent you outside to play with a stick and you had fun with that stick for many hours. But only on the days that he didn't attend school. Which he had to walk miles to, even in the winter, through 3 feet of snow, up hill both ways.
  11. So if a manager comes out of the dugout to argue about a call, can he still challenge the call after he gets back to the dugout?
  12. not sure that childhood epilepsy is high up on conditions MLB staff test for in adults... I agree it's not our staff fault for not diagnosing the illness. I do think the jokes are frankly kinda stupid, but that's just me. I think they're HIGHlarious!
  13. Just a moment ago he was hitting .274 on the season, and everybody was happy with his bat after having a very solid month of May. June hasn't been good. In the end I think he's a .280+ hitter all day. MLB pitchers & defenses have adjusted to him, and he'll need to do the same... what really disappoints me is that we haven't even seen a trace of the power he flashed in the 1st half of last year, and at times in MiLB.
  14. If he gets just one extra flair a week, just one. A gorp, he gets a ground ball, a ground ball with eyes. He gets a dying quail, just one more dying quail a week and he's back up to .294.
  15. what the heck is he supposed to say? "Meh, we'll probably just regress to the mean and won't be contending by mid-August, so I'm going to watch Packers training camp practices instead"? Far as I can tell an owner of a team is ALL IN constantly...after all, he does own the team. Well... he could've expressed his delight with the way the season has gone thus far about 5,000 other ways than using the phrase "ALL IN". Every fan, player, coach, and owner of a small market baseball team knows exactly what that phrase means. Anyway, I was only repeating what was said on the broadcast, so read into it however you'd like.
  16. For those that missed the broadcast tonight, Brian Anderson said he spoke with Mark Attanasio and asked him how he felt about the way the season had gone thus far. Attanasio told him that he was "ALL IN" this year.
  17. Just a couple years ago, I wouldn't have thought that possible Just four hours ago, I wouldn't have thought that possible
  18. Nice... so I guess it's ok to admire your double, and skip to second... as long as you don't flip your bat, and leg out a triple.
  19. The Brewers are 2nd in ESPN's Power Rankings. http://espn.go.com/mlb/powerrankings 1st in Bleacher Report's Power Rankings http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2025729-mlb-power-rankings-where-all-30-mlb-teams-stand-after-2-weeks/page/31
  20. It's been a pretty solid group effort.
