  1. Front Row Andy well thats... interesting. I guess I hadn't noticed him until tonight!
  2. I sure hope not. Weeks is an ideal #2 hitter, and he finally became entrenched there at the end of last year. I'd be very frustrated if they moved him out now after finally getting it right. Aoki Weeks Braun Ramirez Lucroy ....... fill in the blanks until Hart gets back in the lineup.
  3. I saw Chad Moeller hit for the cycle, so anything is possible. At any rate, I think that Weeks has to get it together- at least to some extent. He's 29 years old off two good seasons. In baseball history, I know that there have been some pitchers who have 'lost it' overnight like Steve Blass, Ankiel, etc., but I'm hard pressed to think of one position player who has done this at such a young age with so much success under their belts. The best recent example that I can come up with would be Carlos Baerga, who seemed to fall off the edge of the earth, but looking at the stats, that was more of a gradual decline. As someone said previously, it reminds me of what JJ Hardy went through in 2009.
  4. What does Carlos Gonzales have to do to get some respect from voters? Apparently playing awesome just doesn't cut it. 13th among outfielders!! I was just talking with a friend other day about who might beat out Braun this year, and CarGo was one of the guys I thought might bump him out of the starting lineup along with Kemp/Beltran/Ethier..... but I guess we don't have to worry about him!
  5. I actually think he missed it too, I've watched it several times from every angle they showed. Looked like he was just late with the glove and whiffed. Very similar to last nights play at the plate.
  6. I was just going to post that picture! Here's an article about that. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1999-03-29/news/9903290042_1_president-fidel-castro-angelos-orioles
  7. It was the same source who said that Braun has a good defense. It was in the Dan Patrick audio. Said two other Brewers had highly elevated resultsSo... Is it possible that there are 2 other Brewers going through the same process as Braun right now, that we are unaware of?
  8. I was thinking more like... Hall of Shame caliber.
  9. Yes, it's a completely different situation. But it's not as if they just considered all of last season as games served due to suspension, or he wouldn't have to serve any games going further. Manny's situation is one that I don't think has ever come up before, and probably wasn't addressed specifically in the policy. They seemed to use some discretion in reducing his suspension. If Braun's situation also ends up being a situation that has never occurred previously, or that is specifically addressed within the policy , why wouldn't they also have the ability to use some discretion in his case? All I'm saying is that Manny's situation implies that they may have some discretion in imposing these penalties under unusual circumstances, does it not?
  10. I don't know why not. They just reduced Manny's suspension from 100 games to 50 games. Of course the reason for reducing the suspensions would be completely different, but if they can reduce it for Manny, I don't know why they couldn't reduce it for Braun if the circumstances justify it.
  11. I don't think that poor throw had anything to do with Hart's arm strength. He was nonchalant with the play from the beginning. He didn't think Berkman was going to run, and by the time he realized he was going he wasn't in position to make a strong throw. Terrible effort.
  12. I still think Morgan Weeks Braun Fielder Hart is our best lineup, although Hart's and Weeks' lines are nearly identical at the moment, I think Weeks is going to work his way on base more often than Hart in the long run and should bat 2nd. Their power numbers are pretty similar. Either way, whether Hart or Weeks bats 5th, the other should hit 2nd instead of leadoff. Weeks and Hart are both capable run producers, why not try to set the table for them, especially when you've got a legimate leadoff hitter like Morgan in the lineup already.
  13. A few days ago, Ueck said that he has started jogging... in a pool. To me thats a ways from playing baseball on dirt and grass. How come FSN or the JS never seems to have much for updates on Rickie, but everytime I have to listen to the radio broadcast, Uecker had talked to him before the game and has some information to pass on? It's kind of a big deal! I was hoping we'd get updates throughout his recovery on a more consistant basis than we have. Yet, unbelievablely, we've built a pretty nice lead with Rickie on the DL... no need to rush back at this point. EDIT: I just noticed this in Rosiak's K-Rod article from yesterday: "Also, Roenicke said Rickie Weeks is now hitting in the cage and might accompany the Brewers on their next road trip, which begins this weekend in New York." I guess that sounds pretty promising... I still say take your time.
  14. I too was at Wrigley for that game, front row, left field bleachers. If I remember correctly the Brewers jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first inning, Gallardo was throwing, we were having a great time heckling Soriano in left field who had struck out in his first 2 plate appearances on just 6 or 7 pitches. It all went downhill from there, the Brewers never scored again, and lost on that Ramirez walk off 3 run homer... uggh, I thought it was going to be a great day/night in Chicago.... When that ball came off Ramirez' bat I wanted to disappear, you have to exit through a lot of excited and annoying Cub fans when you're sitting in the front row, definately a walk of shame moment!
  15. Best defensive game I've seen the Brewers play... ever... by far!
  16. Lucroy with the bat flip!! Brewers' "brash" is even wiping off on low key Lucroy.
  17. Bringing Wolf back out was a mistake IMO. Despite his line, he hasn't pitched well tonight, great defense saved what could been a very rough outing for Randy.
  18. Shoulder, calf, oblique... he's had a rough year already. I'm sure somethings barkin'. Bottomline, if Braun is 100% healthy and feeling great, he'd be in the lineup. If somethings a little sore, and they think he just needs a day, they're not going to tell the media that he's hurt and create a circus. Little do they know of the circus they create here, though, by playing Kotsay, and hitting him 3rd!
  19. I read somewhere that the Cardinals are throwing Westbrook on Wednesday, and Carpenter on Thursday now. That evens up the pitching matchups quite a bit. I won't exactly be satisfied if we win 1 game, but I'll be glad we didn't get swept.
  20. I had that message last night too, then switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox and it worked fine.
  21. Where's the justice? Brewers untuckingem after a Braun walk off hit... is how it should've happened.
  22. We're probably gonna need Counsell to get a hit this inning in order to win. Great.
