  1. RockCo, I saw the Dickerson jersey as well and immediately thought Brewerfan should make a pool to have a case of 500 Chris Dickerson jerseys shipped to you. It would cost $7,500, but it would be well worth it.
  2. Good for Counsell. It's neat to see how hard the rest of the team was rooting for him to get a knock. I could go either way on Counsell. I still think he provides more value to this team than Kotsay. He really should replace Yuni in the 8th and 9th innings of any game where the club has a tight lead.
  3. I'm guessing his wife enjoys it when he gets knocked around a bit.
  4. That's horrible. Bringing that song back into my head ought to be a bannable offense. If by "Good Mood" they mean heartburn, upset stomach, indigestion, and feeling like an utter failure, then Arby's does indeed put me in a good mood.
  5. http://images.worldnow.com/AP/images/15202401_BG1.jpg Zombie Molina wants brains...
  6. Somebody should make a projection system based solely on awesomeness of names. I don't even need to look at statistics to know that a guy named "J.B. Shuck" isn't going to be a good ballplayer. Having a guy named "Bogusevic" has to be -3 wins. Same goes for Samardzijimzima.
  7. I'm fond of Ommegang's Abbey, though I've only had it once. Unibroue (QC) does some excellent Belgians; I love La Fin du Monde and Trois Pistoles. I had a Rochefort 6 last night and I didn't love it. I found it to be way overcarbonated, a bit watery, and not nearly as complex as their others. Fine beer, but I didn't love it.
  8. I wish I could take credit for it, but it just popped up on a Google search. Proof that you can find literally anything on the internet.
  9. http://www.fojji.se/img/yiff_fox.jpg It's Pedofox!
  10. That clown with the Homer Simpson avatar is the best. He found that the p-value for the Brewers' home record is 0.057. His interpretation? There is a 94.3% chance that the Brewers are stealing signs at home. He also said that this is the same as saying "There is a 5.7% chance that this could have occurred simply as the result of variation.". Fangraphs should pick it up just to show how ridiculous the claims are. If his p-value is accurate (actually I think it's high), we should see 1-2 teams every year have a home split like the Brewers. In defense of 94.3% of the posters on Gateway Redbirds, I think he is just the resident clown, and his arguments have persuaded very few on that site. That site is a great example of how 5% of a message board can ruin the discussion, and how great this message board is at keeping out the riff raff (I've just snuck under their radar).
  11. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQZ3HP2jCK2k0gIcDK_53jeGahOmUTLAL7FA6i9QUMvdMG8CeDC Foxyfoxes, do you have any candy?
  12. "BTW, I don't know why since everyone knows they are cheating anyway, but I actually did take the time to calculate a p value for jim, which was 0.057 through 50 home and 50 road games for the Brewers, after a generous allowance of 18.6% inflation of runs at home in Miller Park. So yeah, admittedly only a 95% certainty that they are cheating." Uhhh...Yeah, that's sound statistical analysis. Stupid people should be banned from taking Introduction to Statistical Methods.
  13. http://gatewayredbirds.co...iewtopic.php?f=1&t=46604 Morans.
  14. What a moron. The Cardinals have to be one of the skeezier franchises in the majors.
  15. Must...fight...urge...to...start...liking...Yuni...bottle...it...up...inside...
  16. In all seriousness, I'd be nearly as willing to believe that as some of TLR's claims.
  17. That sounds like a 2004 Daron and Bill flashback. I was hoping they were having fun with the whole "lighting" thing on MLB Network.
  18. Yeah, to anybody watching on MLB Network, are they using the Brewers or Cardinals feed? If it's the Brewers, I'm sure they're regretting it after that half inning. What's this all about?
  19. Edit: Double posts are silly. They're pretty much a statistical impossibility.
  20. According to their "Stat Expert", 2-5% is a statistical impossibility (that's the probability of the Brewers having that type of success at home if they are a 56%-58% true talent level team, adding 4% for home games). I wonder what their explanation for the away record. The probability of the club's road record (21-35) occurring for a 56-58% team is about the same as the probability of the home record occurring. Perhaps we should start looking for a better excuse than "we've sucked on the road" for sucking on the road...

  22. Cardinals fans actually remind me of 4th graders on the playground. "You win, therefore you cheat." Get a brain, morans.
  23. Melvin got the club a competent player who can replace McGehee and Betancourt 5-6 times a week. Now Melvin just needs to tell Ron Roenicke that Jerry Hairston Jr. is meant to play baseball.
  24. Hairston is competent at 3B and CF. Kotsay is not.
  25. I just watched True Grit the other day. I'm thinking Roenicke watched it as well, and approached both Counsell and Kotsay and said: "Craig, Mark, I've heard you two are men with true grit."
