    Feels like that's been the series. Scratch and claw and fight to get it close and then suddenly 5 seconds later the pacers have gained back what you took and then some.

    What are these refs smoking? Did they just call a charge on that small bump 40 feet from the basket that you get 5 times on any back down in any game that never gets called?

    The problem is that his hand seemed to go up in the air when it reached the plate area. It beat the tag, but not sure he touched the plate since his hand went up. As for the blocking, I have no idea. He seems to drop, or try to drop, his knees right on the edge of the plate. Seems to be what was a point of emphasis made illegal for the other bases this year, but is that still legal for home plate? Seems weird to me.

    When I was in college, there was a thought problem on one of the math professors' door that was like that using the parable of the tortoise and the hare. I don't remember many of the details, but it was basically like if the hare cuts the lead in half over a time frame how could he ever pass him? The premise being if the distance is only ever cut in half it can be cut in half into infinity without being surpassed. I think the answer had something to do with time, but that was a long time ago.

    Just looked back since I was in the kitchen for the whole siri at bat, pitch one was a curve a bit off the outside of the plate. Pitch 2 was a few inches from hitting him in the knee. 3 was in the dirt but over the plate. Impossible to tell if 4 was intentional which makes it so annoying that the ump was able to read Freddy's mind and know he did it on purpose, but only after standing around doing nothing for a good 20 seconds and after siri was yapping at him. Kind of ridiculous that he was so sure it was on purpose that he 1 did nothing at all right away and then had to call a conference to discuss throwing him out. And then to get that heated at Murphy that Murphy had to be held back so he could continue going after Murphy with nobody holding him back. Umps are jokes.

    I don't know if they don't want to rock the boat with turang, or add pressure or whatever, but I'm ready for him to move to leadoff, though facing a lefty today so no shot for it today at least.

    Herget went from the major league roster to dfad in a few days. Did he even throw a pitch? Pro sports can be rough for those on the edge.

    I could imagine a scenario early on where they are setting things up and the money people ask about that account, but mizuhara translates a made up different question and reaponds Ohtani wants it private or whatever and all parties are none the wiser. Ohtani thinks all of his finances are taken care of, money people have an answer even if they might think it's foolish, but respect their clients presumed wishes, and mizuhara now has unfettered access to this account.
