  1. I saw on ESPN earlier in the week, a video by Julian Edelman that he put a 100k bet on the pats to play the bucs. And just like that 100k down the toilet.
  2. Yeah. I don't know ow if they are allowed to let the play stand if a whistle is blown, but I think it was the right call to let it be a td. I don't think the whistle affected the play. I'm behind in the game and the referee expert confirmed by rule the play should have been rerun due to inadvertent whistle.
  3. I feel like cinci is going to put up 50 on the Raiders. I also am fairly confident in Buffalo, tampa, KC, and slightly in Arizona. The sf/Dallas game is a complete toss-up to me.
  4. I know they’re establishing a rotation for the 17th game, but I still don’t like how the Packers conveniently drew the Chiefs @ Arrowhead for the first extra game (someone in the league office had an extra TV matchup mind). And now it just happens to be the defending #1 seed? It could have been Cincinnati. Don't look now but the Packers are also a #1 seed... Maybe it actually makes sense? I looked it up because I thought it was you match up 1-16 in each conference, but saw there would be some duplicate cross conference matchups. So, they have the rotation of playing all 4 teams from one of the divisions, and when they added the 17th game, that match-up is the equally ranked team from the division you played 2 years prior. Examples: in 2019 we played the afc west, so this year we matched up against them. In 2020 we played the ABC south, since we were the #1 in our division we play the #1 in that division, the titans. The 2023 schedule will have us play whichever team wins the afc north in 2022 (because we will win the division next year again obviously) and so on.
  5. Only a 10 day currently.
  6. I would imagine the NFL would step in for an overt collusion job, but I wonder what about if the game were close late or made it to overtime and they pretended to try. I'd imagine there's a little bit of the (I think its called) prisoners dilemma where you would have to trust whoever has the ball last to follow through and not try to screw the other over.
  7. I was told last Sunday that these Saturday games would have playoff implications. They kind of do, just for seeding purposes. There was only 1 game this week between direct competitors, and that got the Sunday night slot. In addition to that, I think there were only 2 other games between playoff teams, with the next closest being the ravens and steelers who both need the colts to lose to the jags to get in. So basically the pickings were slim for prime time games.
  8. At Ohio st and at Michigan st sounds brutal.
  9. NYT did a good job of making a flow chart for each team and where they will land based on the game results. Very well done. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/01/08/upshot/nfl-playoff-picture-week-18.html
  10. I think if bucks, cards, and rams all lose and Dallas wins, tampa would fall to the 4 seed, but I'm only about 80% sure. If just tampa loses, tamps would still have the tie breaker by beating Dallas. If bucs and rams lose, I'm not sure who would win between cards and bucs(I see rams haven't clinched yet, so I'm not sure what has to play out for the cards to win the division either). So basically a long shot for tampa to fall to the 4 seed.
  11. Stokes wanted no part in trying to tackle him lol.
  12. Chargers/Raiders is the only win and you're in type game so that could be a Saturday game. Other than that it's kind of wide open for good games. Maybe cowboys/eagles and 49ers/rams which would have 2 teams fighting for playoff positioning. Maybe the second 2 get the Saturday games and the chargers/Raiders get Sunday night? I think there could be a scenario where the loser of the chargers/Raiders game gets in as well so I dont know if that would make it less appealing.
  13. Lol, if they go 3 incompletions, which would be dumb of them, there enough time left for another score lol.
  14. Boom! Defense making early plays!
  15. David tyree now with the second best helmet catch in NFL history. Wow.
  16. Aaand they are indeed running it up. Good call lol.
  17. Because he's playing the jags is a good reason why not. He might only throw 3 passes. Me personally, I might be willing to take a chance on Huntley, he did look really good against us, or hill, Carolina has been bad recently, in that order.
  18. Admittedly I've only started watching at the start of the second half, but cinci doesn't look overrated to me. Though maybe it's because I was expecting them to get crushed.
  19. I think you gotta stick with Patterson, personally. If you're in PPR Williams could be a really good play, though. He thrived with CEH out earlier this year. I would bench Patterson personally(I am). Ever since halftime against Carolina his touches have been reduced. Only 2 targets the past 2 games. He was lucky to get a td last week to make it a below avg game as opposed to a second terrible one.
  20. Sad. Just a few days ago, I had been thinking about him and couldn't remember if he was still alive. I grew up with the madden games and liked him as an announcer on fox. He basically was football for my child self.
  21. Was it a penalty, probably(no idea on the ball tipped part I've only seen the play a few times) and I would be livid if we didn't get a call like that. However, I'm not complaining after calls like that which have gone against us in the past(specifically in the championship game last year before half) and I've seen worse not called this year as well.
  22. Read from packer news that he is vaccinated and they said this about his chances of playing.
  23. Snapper, I get the vacuum argument in most cases, but today, I’m not sure it impacts a lot downstream decisions. The Packers are getting the ball with roughly the same amount of time and field position. Only difference is Baltimore is up 3-0. The teams traded TD’s for most of the game and I doubt anyone felt compelled to kick or go for it later in the game as a result of that possession (except for the last drive). Sometimes it’s OK to take the points, especially when your kicker is Justin Tucker. I know it's our special teams, but its still rough to say that we would have started at roughly the same field position when we started at our 6 after the 4th down.
  24. He definitely got the hand on the back early, whether that should be a flag or not, I dont know.
  25. Wow, we have all of our timeouts in a situation where we could use them!
