Please catch fire Middleton. Good start, though I'd kill for some boxing out on the defensive end.

After yesterday's game the 10 win streak was on the "the lead" stories on their ticker, so it's not been completely ignored.

It's really crazy how we aren't attacking the paint like in game 5. Does this team have amnesia?

Not watching, but I'm guessing Hader was once again getting loose, only to have the Brewers offense put it out of a save situation [sarcasm]Is Hader the league leader in I'm warming up for a save...oh I guess I can sit down now?[/sarcasm]

2 games to win 1. I'm still feeling pretty conflicted on our chances overall, but nice to not quit at least.

So how much did we raise the Cubs bullpen era this series? Are they still in first?

CC is playing 10D chess. Not only did he know his offense was going to erupt so it didn't matter who he started, but he picked a starter he knew would give the Cubs a huge lead first just to twist the knife that much more. Simply genius. Also this thread has been fun to catch up on once I got home after the 4th inning

If they are going to hit shots like that I don't think it would matter if we do get giannis back. Yeesh

Bud should have called a timeout quite a bit ago.

I don't know why I expected we could have nice things.

Checks clock. Awe. Checks clock. Awe. Checks clock. Awe.

Playing Collins at the 5 seems like a bad idea, so I like it for them.
  13. young guns
I mean you knew they would do it, especially with how much it's being talked about by the media. Only down 5 after 1 is pretty good.
  14. young guns
One would expect them to come out with fire after being embarrassed. Just gotta weather the storm and stop playing like crap and we will be fine.

The Cubs play on Sunday Night Baseball in LA tomorrow night before flying the red-eye to Milwaukee for the series opener on Monday. The Brewers also currently have Peralta-Woodruff-Burnes lined up and listed as their starters for that series. The Cubs don't have their starters announced but it seems like it would be a mixture of Hendricks, Arrieta, and Davies. This series is ripe for us to take 2 of 3 . Also was at the game yesterday. The crowd was great. And Yelich made great contact on 4 of his 5 at bats. Could have easily had another home run and an extra base hit You spelled sweep wrong.

I was hoping with the Sunday game they would schedule it a little earlier in the afternoon. I don't want to wait.

    A balk was called.

Question because I'm not sure, but how many players have sat on teams with national title hopes? I'm not too surprised when a player sits out generic bowl game, but I can't remember anyone sitting out a semifinal or national title game.

Cubs with a 4 pitcher no hitter against the dodgers last night. Davies threw 6 of the innings with 5 of the 8 walks allowed.
  20. young guns
    What a discombobulated effort there.
  21. young guns
Yeah that's who I want taking that shot...
  22. young guns
If Middleton wants to get it going that would be fine with me.
  23. young guns
Much better closing out the quarter.
  24. young guns
I imagine the response would involve some sort of veteraness and less pressure on the young player, though urias was batting leadoff when Wong was out so who knows. Maybe some sort of superstition about vogey liking the 2 hole or something.

I wonder, if Ashby wasn't being groomed to come up as a reliever later this year, if he would be getting the call to replace Anderson.
