  1. Yea Boomer, that's my point. They would not do better than Giolito.
  2. This is off-topic (sort of). If you think the Brewers looking for a few prospects for Lucroy is crazy have a look at this: I guess they aren't gonna trade him then...
  3. Well the Giants just gave up the 91st prospect for Eduardo Nunez.
  4. His OBP and defense are murder. Even with that power, his oWAR is 1.4 and his dWAR is -0.3. Clearly the OF plan hasn't happened because of injuries to Flores, Liriano and Santana (All of whom were better all-around outfielders than Davis). The return for him was not bad. This was a case of Davis being grossly overvalued by Brewers fans. Both Nottingham and Derby will be useful players going forward.
  5. LouisEly, I'm guessing Burnes is high because a lot of scouts like him; he was #39 on mlb.com's prospect list so I'm sure he was true fourth rounder, though I do appreciate your point and agree with you.
  6. Here is an example: "Adam Brenner@BrenBren2424 @MarcCarig we never play Flores anyway so maybe a trade of d'Arnaud, Flores and a prospect not named Rosorio or Smith for Lucroy could work" Delusional.
  7. Mets fans may be more delusional about their own players than any other team in baseball.
  8. I wish they would've given Woodruff one more inning.
  9. Clancy, my point is you do not know what a number 2 starter is. I don't get the fascination with Suter. Do you not see what has been happening to Fiers this year? In no universe is Fiers a number 2 starter. Neither Suter nor Fiers have a plus pitch and most true number 2s have multiple. ERA in the minors is not the only metric to measure a pitcher's future. Ability to strike out batters and throw quality strikes (which judging by his atrocious Opp AVG isn't great). This is not to say that I'd think Suter has earned a chance to pitch in Milwaukee.
  10. As much as I would love that, there is no universe where Suter has a number 2 ceiling. His milb career So/9 is 6.9. His H/9 is 9.1. Not walking guys does not a number 2 starter make. As well as not a single prospect watcher call singling him out as a prospect period much less a top prospect.
  11. I get that Bregman is a very good prospect, but to not trade for him straight up for Sale would be a huge mistake. Sale has had great peripherals his whole career, so it isn't like he is a smoke-in-mirrors guy. Remember Pomeranz just went straight up for Espinoza so that needs to be taken into account. Edit: Not to mention Sale is essentially signed through 2019 (17: 12mil, 18: 12.5mil, 19: 13mil)
  12. Don't forget Jake Drossner as a LHSP. Definitely a project, but going into last year's draft his scouting report said three average pitches topping out in the mid-90s which is great for a LHP. I know the command/control has a ways to good but I'm intrigued. Also, take a look at his starter/reliever splits.
  13. I said I thought Montgomery should get an A if he signed Clark and McClanahan and I am quite stoked that they were able to get them done. These guys clearly had a plan and executed.
  14. The Brewer PD account announced Brown as a signing and Callis had reported him as a slot signing so that was my assumption when I calculated the total.
  15. After the Ray signing, we can still spend $1,108,915 before we incur a draft pick penalty. I am a little optimistic that we can sign a couple of guys from the later rounds.
  16. I'm not trying to be a contrarian but Flores' numbers on offensive are putrid. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/florewi01.shtml
  17. Yes and if any proposal includes Wilmer Flores, you hang up the phone. Not because of the crying last year but because he is terrible. Likewise for the Mets, Matz is probably a non-starter in any trade. He is a local kid who could be a star.
  18. After the signings that have been announced so far, the Brewers are $265,000 under slot. As an aside, if we sign our top ten rounders, I give Ray a B. If we get McClanahan OR Clark, B+. If we get both it's an A. I also think Morrison would be a very solid signing.
  19. Christopher Crawford ‏@CVCrawfordBP 1m1 minute ago Coronado, CA Sorry, that was the #Brewers who got Burnes. I should have guessed. They've had the best draft of any team and I'm not sure it's close.
  20. I could get on board with Joe Wentz in the 2nd. Though I do not know about his signability.
  21. I'd be all for Garrett, unfortunately the Brewers haven't been connected to him at all.
  22. Why not bring him up? I don't believe he should go to CS either but how much more can he do in AA?
  23. As others have stated, Adambr2, you are absolutely correct. People see Braun's contract as a hindrance but if (and yes it is a big if) keeps that average above .300 it is below market value. People seem to think that Braun is really old but he is only 2 years older than Cespedes and he was consider one of the bigger free agents this past off season and Braun has had a much longer track record of success in MLB.
