  1. Bickford is just as likely to be horrible next year or the rest of this season as he is to continue his success. Such is the life of relief pitchers, as we have all witnessed the last few years. I'm not going to even be concerned about him until he can replicate what's he's done so far over at least another season.
  2. Am I remembering correctly that the wrestler who was Isaac Yankem is Cain? Kane, actually. Cain killed his brother. Kane just trapped his in a funeral parlor and set it on fire to try to burn him alive. But failed.
  3. If the writer knows how to trick a computer into sorting your resume to the top of the pile it's probably worth it.
  4. Agreed. It was an extremely satisfying finale. Satisfying but corny. The last 5 minutes was basically a rehash of the last 5 minutes of The Office.
  5. There are putting on some really solid stuff and Baker is overall one of the best heels they have.
  6. Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa put on one of the most brutal matches, men or women, I've ever seen.
  7. I thought all the hype about Shaq wrestling in AEW was pointless and an unnecessary publicity grab for a C-list celebrity. But man I've got to give the guy credit, he took a sick bump through a table and looks just as good in the ring as any of the random giant, roided up guys WWE tries to put out there.
  8. Ya, I couldn't believe when I read that either. Also couldn't believe it's been 6 seasons already. I guess that's still a pretty long run.
  9. Yep ... should probably serve as a warning to those pushing for the Brewers to trade Hader. They'd probably be lucky to get 1-2 prospects back the caliber of Diaz and Harrison, let alone a Top 25 MLB prospect like Brinson was at the time. Ya, nothing's a sure thing but Hader has a lot more value now than when Yelich did at the time. Brinson was the only "top guy" we gave up. Diaz was well regarded and Monte and Yamamoto were essentially lotteries. I'd expect at least two "top guys" in return and certainly higher level prospects overall.
  10. Let's look at it this way. Say the trade never happens, forget about not having Yelich, we could be getting next to nothing production from guys who were supposed to be our top prospects and the future of the club. Would have been interesting to see how Huira/Diaz worked out with both being 2B. Maybe Keston gets moved to first sooner. Maybe Isan gets moved to 3B or the outfield.
  11. At what point do we run out of comic book stuff to make movies and shows about? It seems like everything is either comic book related, remake of 90's sitcom, or let's see how crazy of a concept we can come up with and go with it.
  12. https://www.ringsidenews.com/2021/01/28/brodie-lees-wife-opens-up-about-his-final-days/amp/ Brodie's wife recaps the events that led to his death for those interested. My two takeaways from it are how incredible AEW was to the family doing everything they could to get him help and help out the family. And also how incredible that he was essentially dying for two months and the whole company and all the wrestlers knew but not a word got out. That's amazing, not just in the wrestling business, but in the world today for something like that to be kept quiet.
  13. Exhibit A for why this site needs a "like" feature... This is nothing new. It happened already in the late 90's and has no doubt been happening ever since.
  14. Watched them make Detroit Style pizza on Cook's Country a couple weekends ago. It looked bad and pointless. Basically bread with sauce.
  15. I have some reservations about Bitcoin, but I’ll bite here. Part of Bitcoin’s appeal is that there is a finite supply. There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoins. Meanwhile, countries print new fiat money every day. Even gold, which has a fixed supply on Earth, could hypothetically be mined from other planets or asteroids some day. So it's basically a collector's item?
  16. Sting's AEW debut...chills, goosebumps. Total mark out moment for me. I saw a post about it on Facebook before I could watch it but it still got me.
  17. Can't remember where but I read it but the Marlins contract ended too and they are looking into streaming services for their broadcasts.
  18. I don't know if you could find any two shows more on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm a huge fan of Schitt's Creek and I thought the first couple seasons were the best. They focused too much on "heart" and relationships toward the end and lost the comedy aspect of the show.
  19. AEW Dynamite One Year Anniversary Show: - Britt Baker was cringeworthy before her injury. Since then her stuff with Tony Schiavone and Rebel/Reba has been great. - Only Chris Jericho could put over a steak dinner like it's the main event of Wrestlemania. - Cody vs Orange Cassidy was an amazing match. I had it on in the background while I was doing some work and after a few minutes I stopped working and was glued to it. About halfway into it the ending was rather predictable but there were still moments where you believed the outcome could be different. - I can't buy Lance Archer as any sort of monster - not with his blue eyes and kind face. Jake Roberts is great on the mic but does nothing for him. I like Jon Moxley but he's done absolutely nothing since he won the title like 9 months ago. He's their World Champion and he has one week feuds that go no where. They do a couple weeks of build up for his match with Archer and it lasts like 8 minutes with nothing other than a table spot happening. The feud with Eddie Kingston looks like it could be good though.
  20. Seems like all these streaming services are going the way of cable companies with price increases and limited selection.
  21. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hollywood-charges-forward-production-plans-virus-surge-1303906 Pretty sure production has started in most places. You know, as soon as people start realizing they'll be losing money all the talk about "stay home, stay safe" and whatever goes right out the window.

  23. I believe that match was during the leadup to Flair's retirement where he had to keep winning matches or be forced to retire so he was pretty much running the mid-card gauntlet.
  24. Honestly, I have come to quite enjoy AEW! I can always count on Chris Jericho for a good laugh!! Two words, Pineapple Pete!! :laughing I gave up on WWE about five or six years ago mostly due to not having time to watch it. I'd still read about what was going on and try to keep up with it but it turned into a horrible kid's circus show and I totally lost interest in it. I've seen every episode of AEW since it started last year and it's light years better. I will totally acknowledge it has flaws. Some of their promos and video packages are so eyeroll and cringe worthy and most matches evolve into a bunch of jumpy, flippy, divey moves but it's actually wrestling matches and wrestling storylines.
