    I highly doubt both Singleton and Tellez are on the opening day roster. This is most likely just insurance in case they find a deal for Tellez or he gets hurt in ST. Is it a good use of a 40 man spot? I don't know.

    Who wants to waste their time on a cover letter, ever? ? It's a job with our city's rec department. I'm somewhat familiar with the department and who my supervisor and some of my co-workers would be so I'm not really concerned about any issues working with the department. This is probably just some lazy HR mistake. But since this is going to the HR person I want to give them what they want. Not that I know what that is.

    I'm in the process of getting my things together to apply for a job and the job posting says they want "a detailed letter of interest". Not having a clue what that is I googled it and everything I see about letter of interest says that this is for when you aren't applying for a specific job whereas a cover letter should be tailored to the job posting. But in this case, there is a specific job. So...what do I do?

    Drew Carey is part owner of the Seattle Sounders. I'm not sure how much he contributes/contributed to their financial success. If anything I think it's more of a PR. Although he really does love the sport and the team.

    A player shall be considered a rookie unless he has exceeded any of the following thresholds in a previous season (or seasons): 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues. 45 total days on an active Major League roster during the Championship Season (excluding time on the Injured List) Looks like he had 46 days in 2021.

    Funny things happen when you live and work in a small community. I was hired in April. The guy who hired me had offered me a different job at a different place about 7 years ago but I turned it down. I was hoping he wouldn't remember me and that I did that and take it into consideration when making their selection for this job. I don't know if he did or not but it never came up. Since then he's retired. Funny enough, his replacement had rejected me for a job during that job search 7 years ago. The job I'm currently hired for was supposed to be temporary and in my first meeting with my new boss he told he's going to try to get me hired permanently.

    So basically he could be a good hitter if they change everything about his swing? My comment isn't about the Brewers specially but I see way too often this line of thinking in baseball and I doubt it turns out well very often.

    I don't think there's any "punishment" involved here as they're only investigating whether or not he used corporate funds for hush money. If it's proved he didn't he may not get back his CEO job but I think it's certain he won't be giving up or be removed from any creative control.

    I'm pretty sure he's only stepping down from the business side and will still control the wrestling product. So what you see on TV won't change at all.

    I would say patience is a problem in MLB in general. When Moneyball led to everyone taking walks and working the count it made sense. The goal was to get a starters pitch count up so you could get to the bullpen which, at the time, was full of inferior pitchers compared to starters. Nowadays, relievers have better stuff than starters so forcing them into the game isn't really advantageous. There's also the fact that pitchers in general are just better than they used to be. Taking that first pitch fastball over the heart of the plate for a strike does the batter no favors when it's the best pitch they'll see.

    I find the whole shoot/pipe bomb thing to generally be eye rolling cringe but hot damn MJF. He's like if Ric Flair and Roddy Piper had a baby.

    Watching old Nitro it's apparent how terrible and pointless interviewers are today. Mean Gene and Tony Schiovane would carry on a conversation with a wrestler and try to engage with them and lead them where they need to go. Nowadays it's "So and so said something about you last week. What do you have to say about that?" And that's all they contribute. You could get rid of them and no one would even notice.

    If this is what they deemed an appropriate punishment they should have banned him for life. I don't know what sort of evidence the league has that makes them think that a 2 year ban fits the crime but not kicking him out for good. This seems like a "we don't have any real proof of anything but we need good PR" suspension. I suppose it doesn't really matter since unless something drastically changes with his accusers no MLB team is ever going to sign him again anyway.

    I knew before applying that more than likely both jobs would have interactions with each other at some point. I had orientation for the job I accepted this morning. My first day is Monday and we will be meeting with Job B. I still haven't heard anything from Job B but I guess they're going to find out I accepeted a job elsewhere on Monday.
