  1. Don't the Jets have some pretty good young receivers? Are they going to let ARod push them into signing a has been and a never was to take snaps away from them?
  2. MLB Free Agency: Star players stay on the market for months, even past the start of spring training. NFL Free Agency: Every player is signed before they are even legally allowed to.
  3. Wouldn't it make more sense to get a 2024 first round pick? If Love bombs you can package both 2024 picks and move up to get the QB you want or if the whole team tanks be in a spot to draft that guy without a trade.
  4. It's not like the NFC North is chock full of talent right now. The Vikings won with smoke and mirrors last year and have a merely average QB on the downside of his career with a terrible defense. The Lions appear to be on the rise but who knows who Jared Goff really is. And they too feel like a team that really overachieved last year and I could totally see them only winning 5 or 6 games next year, getting Campbell fired, and starting over again. The Bears are the real wildcard long term. They've got the cap space to go crazy and Fields could be something special, as long as he stays healthy but that coaching staff looks like they're determined to end his career before it even starts. Unless Love is a total flop I don't think the Packers are destined for disgrace the next few years. More likely they're a team that's good enough to win the division most years because of the weak division but ultimately lose in the first round.
  5. There's a lot of difficult conversations you have to have with your children - death, sex, drugs, etc. and you're never fully prepared for how to handle it. My 6 year old asked me to explain to him what space is. That was by far most the difficult conversation I've had so far.
  6. Wasn't Favre's situation all about him going back and forth on retiring? I don't remember there being talk about him going to another team until he wanted to come back after retiring and the Packers had already moved on. That was 15 years ago so I could be wrong.
  7. Carr to the Saints. Which proves, if anything, that the salary cap is pointless and only an idiot front office can't figure out ways around it.
  8. This doesn't seem at all like a situation where the team desperately wants to keep the player but the player wants to leave. If Rodgers told the FO to trade him to whatever team he wanted I don't think they could pick up the phone fast enough to get it done.
  9. You could pretty much extend all of their top prospects for less than it would cost to sign Burnes alone.
  10. I have no idea why the Packers want to deal with Rodgers anymore. Just trade him and move on. It's not like he's 30 and has a decade left to play. He's only playing for another a year or two anyway so just go ahead and get a head start on finding your next QB.
  11. What about Willy makes people think he's a top flight SS? I mean he's certainly good but in no way do I see him as a guy you pay up to hold on to.
  12. Your best return is going to come from teams that are desperate and don't care too much about the future like the Padres, Mets, and probably Phillies. What that return looks like I have no idea. I can't see the Orioles giving up their top prospects for anyone at this point in their build/rebuild.
  13. Watching spring training games and everyone is bundled up in jackets and hats because OMG it's 60 degrees outside! I get it but still.
  14. Anyone use any of these meal kit services? Do they really eliminate "food waste"? I'm not sure what's so hard about eating your leftovers. From the bits you see in the commercial they look like they create a lot of real waste with everything wrapped in plastic. And I'm sure they are shipped in some sort of insulated container with cold packs that probably often end up in the garbage too.
  15. Do we really need another "article" about this? The horse is beyond dead.
  16. I did it once in my life about 10 years ago. I got the job. Maybe it made the difference but I doubt it. Haven't done it for any of the hundreds of interviews I've had since.
  17. The answer to that question is always because people are lazy or stupid. Or most likely a combination of the two.
  18. Paul T Goldman on Peacock. I've seen the ads for it for a couple weeks and thought it might be something good to have on in the background every now and then. Yesterday I started the first episode while I was on the treadmill with the intent of just watching that one. I wound up finishing the series in bed last night only taking a break to eat dinner. I don't even know how to describe it. It was the most engrossing thing I've ever watched.
  19. I had one at 22. Being younger didn't make it any easier. My body does not handle any kind of drugs well so not eating for 24 hours before or whatever it is and then not being able to eat for about another 24 hours after because neither my head nor my stomach was interested or willing to tolerate food made for a horrible couple of days. The day after I had it my boss sent me home from work. I never once complained about how I was feeling but after being there a couple hours they took one look at me and said go home.
  20. So based on this, is this a correct statement: Less than one month from the start of spring training games (some of which will be televised) and a little over two months from opening day, some teams don't have anyone to televise their games? I can't tell if that's the case or not but if it is, what a cluster...
  21. Or both Stearns and the Astros are willing to wait out his contract. The Astros just hired a GM. They could hire Stearns as the POBO next offseason.
