  1. Maybe Lucroy called a bad game on purpose because it was Wainwright. Maybe it was Wainwright's fault, after all he admitted he threw Jeter meatballs. (that's so classy) Maybe Wainwright was actually the worst pitcher for the NL, since no one else had a problem pitching to Lucroy. Either way, Cardinals fans are the most miserable people on earth.
  2. ...they win more games than everyone else in the division.
  3. All the runs given up by the NL so far tonight have been from Cardinals pitchers. I hate the Cardinals and this makes me happy. That is all.
  4. Considering spending a year in the bullpen before being moved to the rotation is not uncommon these days, I'm not too worried.
  5. Can you make thread titles blue instead of red? This thread would make more sense then.
  6. Overbay hits the ball hard and Wang is costing us the season. We get it. Lyle has a sub .700 OPS. Reynolds is sub .700. Both could and probably should be replaced. Be careful what you wish for. Kendrys Morales OPS is .582. James Loney's is .706. Ike Davis' is .693. All three were presumably on Brewer radar, and a lot more expensive than Overbay/Reynolds combo either in players or salary. The fact is Overbay's line drive percentage is 23%. The league average is 20%. Overbay is hitting .405 with a 1.071 OPS with runners in scoring position and .333 with 2 outs and RISP. In high leverage situations he's hitting .394/.432/.576. How is that not a net positive? Remember I've never been a big Overbay fan, but I see those numbers, and I have to give him props. Since June 1st, Overbay's hit .292/.363/.431, an OPS of .794. I'm not making these numbers up. Look them up. Are there a lot of better 1B? Absolutely. Are there a lot of better 1B available in a deal? That's debatable. In the short term I don't see much out there. Rockies look at themselves as a solid team that was decimated by injuries in 2014. Morneau is under contract for next year. Unless they could get a major league ready starter for him, he's likely staying put. Wang's presence has affected the way Roenicke has used his pitching staff. He's gone longer with starters (heck nobody's got a longer leash than RR), and he's had to use the other guys a bit more than he should. Smith ended up being gassed. Thornburg ended up on the DL. Wooten and Kintzler have been been inconsistent at best. Wang has a 3.48 ERA at home. I can cherry-pick meaningless stats to make a player look good too. Overbay is toast and Reynolds is barely adequate. Time to find someone else to play first.

  8. In the last 6 months I know 2 guys who've had their marriages end because their wives cheated on them. One of those being a 20+ year marriage with 3 kids and who were a couple that acted like teenagers in love whenever I saw them together. Really makes me mad that this would happen to such a great guy.
  9. Disclaimer: I like Jimmy Nelson. I want to see him succeed. I am very confident he will be at least a decent low #2/high #3 starter in the bigs. They might as well just have started Estrada today. He could've done what Nelson did.
  10. I never understood the LeBron hate when he left. He took less money for a better chance to win a championship. Isn't that what fans want out of athletes, to put winning over money?
  11. Sounds bad, but how many of us would do it? I know if I was given that opportunity I would jump on it.
  12. Do you ever make a post that doesn't contain your distaste for Wang?
  13. I really hope he does a fantastic job but if he pitches like Marco who is the board going to hate then?
  14. As long as he doesn't roll back the clock 2 years.
  15. Had to make an impromptu trip from Green Bay to Oshkosh yesterday. That was my first time driving that part of 41. It was probably my worst driving experience ever. The road was full of idiots going between 60 and 80 MPH. Countless drivers going slower than me changed lanes only a few feet in front of me, including a few semis, causing me to slam on the brakes. Is it always this bad?
  16. The body issue always gets big press. Usually because of some female athlete that poses "naked" for it.
  17. I think we'll probably avoid the big cities. My wife wants to go to Boston but we'll probably skip Fenway if we do. Outdoors, hiking, small towns, beaches, it's all up for grabs.
  18. Bill Hall disagrees with you.
  19. You could hear the field umpire yell at Ron, "I said he didn't go!" and then he tossed him. Doesn't make any sense to me why he was tossed since he was talking with the home plate umpire at the time.
  20. Wife and I are taking a road trip to New England in August for our honeymoon. Any favorite spots or unique places we should hit?
  21. Many would argue, and probably be correct, that Yuni's "contributions" were a negative to the team. Driving in 68 runs, irrelevant. Led the league in sac fly's, big deal. "Manned" a key position, not really. And to answer your question, What has Wang contributed to them losing at a .390 rate so far? Zip, zero, zilch.
  22. Please tell me I'm not the only one seeing the incredible irony in this. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=29536&start=120 I'm glad I saw this post because I almost hit quote as soon as I read what Briggs posted. The contradictions here may make one's head explode.
  23. Agreed. I can't wait for the US to be eliminated so people and the media can stop pretending to actually care about soccer.
  24. Or just have the ability to play one position.
