  1. I think the real question is, does any Pirate take one in the back the next time they play? Hopefully Lohse will overrule Ronny and bring some "Cardinal classiness" to a pitchers meeting and make sure that Snider, Martin, or Cole gets one in the ribs.
  2. Can everyone please stop talking about him in rookie ball. The only reason he was there was because he was rehabbing.
  3. Didn't he refuse to play for team Canada in the WBC because they wouldn't let him play SS?
  4. Brewers fan were spoiled. Everyone since Vasgersian has been an incredible disappointment.
  5. If Ron would just stop treating Wang like some 12 year old who might have his feelings hurt if he gives up a run this wouldn't be such a problem.
  6. Good for him for being proactive with Henderson. Good for him for going with Gennett over Weeks. Good for him for sticking with Reynolds instead of platooning with Overbay. Someone, somewhere is encouraging him to do some things differently but his "style" still leads to way too many outs on the bases. If we're talking about the team's current record, it has little to do with him. The starting pitching has been tremendous and the bullpen fantastic. The offense has been great too. None of that has to do with Ron.
  7. I find Anderson to be pretty boring so I really haven't noticed any difference with Lepay. A little more dead air I guess, which is probably a good thing considering who else is in the booth.
  8. Might have been the ump, he was pointing at Cole or the mound right before everything started.
  9. If anything I would say PED use would increase the risk of TJ. Pitchers aren't meant to be muscular in their arms and shoulders. I wonder if it's become a matter of over-prescribing the procedure because of the number of pitchers who have successfully recovered from it. Teams might have come to the thinking that it's better to just have the surgery and miss a season rather than rehab or play at less than 100% knowing that surgery could very well just fix the problem.
  10. It's only going to be 2 or 3 games at most. Meaning Martin would probably not even play during the time he was suspended. Just stick with Bianchi as the emergency catcher.
  11. Until Gomez tells the pitcher to "suck it" while admiring his homeruns (or triples), the pitcher has nothing to complain about other than the fact that he threw a bad pitch. I can't understand how all these coaches and players take everything so personally.
  12. The bunt attempt was dumb but Bo Porter acting like an idiot was even dumber.
  13. Agreed. The lack of respect that Estrada gets on this board is ridiculous.
  14. "Maturity" and the ability to throw strikes don't really go hand in hand.
  15. Velez isn't Weeks, that's all some posters care about.
  16. I'd rather throw money at Morales than trade any minor leaguer for Davis. Good non-move, Doug.
  17. Exactly, so far so good. He's slumped badly in the past week...lets wait and see. Morales is looking better by the day though that could change overnight. Wait and see on Reynolds but dump Wang. Got it.
  18. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/04/jeremy-jeffress-elects-free-agency.html I have a feeling he will sign with Milwaukee. I have no faith that he will become anything, not even a semi-useful bullpen piece but we know how this club loves bringing back former players. It would be interesting to see if the Cardinals can actually get something out of him if he signs with them.
  19. Let's see what he's looked like after throwing more than 2 innings.
  20. Except for when McCann did almost the exact same thing a few weeks earlier to Jose Fernandez.
  21. It won't last as long as everyone thinks it will. Whoever Mark sells the team to (not saying it will happen soon, probably 10-15 years) will say that Miller Park is outdated and the team needs a new stadium to compete.
  22. Back to the stupid catch rule being changed...yes, it does include outfields as evidenced by this lunacy. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2029423-scott-millers-starting-nine-catch-this-if-you-can-indians-tigers-rays-rest?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=cnn-sports-bin&hpt=hp_bn15
  23. I think Roenicke just wanted to see how many heads would explode on message boards. I agree that Gomez isn't a leadoff hitter but who else on the team is? Ramirez led the team in OBP last year but you want him lower in the lineup. Braun puts up a solid OBP but same issue as Ramirez. With the team that the Brewers have I feel Gomez is the best option. He doesn't have a high OBP but he has the power to get an extra base hit and the speed to steal second if he only gets a single. He won't get many at bats with runners on base hitting leadoff which is probably a good thing for his horrible approach at the plate and penchant for striking out.
