  1. For me, I started with whatever book came with my guitar. That taught me a good chunk of open position chords. Every time I tried to take some sort of formal tutorial I got bored real fast. I have no interest in becoming a "legitimate" musician or anything so music theory and stuff like that doesn't hold my interest at all. I've taught myself by learning how to play songs I like and I've certainly picked up a bunch of the technical stuff by doing that. There's probably rudimentary stuff I don't know but there's also stuff I do know that's way beyond my ability because I've just learned whatever I found interesting. Overall I feel proficient enough for what I want to be. I don't have anything specific to recommend but I'll just say if something isn't working for you don't be afraid to try something else. Unless you're trying to be a classically trained or professional musician there's really no right or wrong way to learn.
  2. Par for the course.
  3. Milner is basically Claudio's replacement. I'm not expecting it, but if he's good enough that he turns out to be Claudio's replacement, that would be nice. I guess I meant that more as who they are than what they'll do. They're both junk ball, sidearm lefties. I assume Milner will be in the bigs at some point in 2021 but I don't know if he'll be as relied on as Claudio was.
  4. Because it's collusion. And it goes against being a fan, that wanting your team a fair shot at winning a title in a given year. So if Giannis recruits a few of his really, really good basketball player friends to come play for the Bucks and they win a title together you wouldn't like it because it wasn't fair to the rest of the league?
  5. Milner is basically Claudio's replacement.
  6. I have a Fender Squire which was the first guitar I got in high school. From what I understand it's bargain basement entry level. It's served me well but I think the wiring is starting to go somewhere. It cuts out and has static and I'm pretty sure the pickup selector doesn't even do anything anymore. My son likes the whammy bar so that's a plus. Then I bought an Ibanez Gio from a friend who had bought it from their cousin. It is by far my favorite guitar I've ever played. It sounds good enough and loud enough for me and I can play for a long time without any wrist or finger soreness which I can't say about any of my other guitars. I have an acoustic/electric I got for Christmas like 10 years ago. It's an RW Jameson whatever that means. This is my second favorite. I have actually never changed the strings on it which I guess I'm supposed to have done probably 100 times by now. But it still sounds good and stays in tune so why mess with it? I think the pickups are shot but I never use it electric anyway. My other acoustic is a piece of crap I got at a garage sale. It is terrible. It doesn't have a name on it I assume because no company would every want to put their name on such a crap product. I tuned it once and it stayed tuned for about 5 seconds. I let my kids bang on it. I bought the bass to mess around with during the apocalypse. It's a Glarry. It's good enough for me. I would say the Ibanez is the loudest. It came with a nice, large amp which I blew out a couple years ago. I've always wanted to get a new one but I don't see any reason to spend a couple hundred bucks on something that will have almost zero purpose for me. When I want to play electric I plug into my Macbook and use Garage Band through headphones. And if I want to get real crazy I hook my laptop up to the stereo in the basement and jam out while my 4 year old bangs away on his makeshift drum set.
  7. I'm not saying any of those guys are bad, they are all clearly starting QB's for just about any team but nothing about them is Hall of Fame worthy. I'll give you that Wentz looked like he might be on his way to being a superstar early on but for whatever reasons it just hasn't happened. But if we're talking Hall of Fame we should be talking elite. Maybe Wentz finds it again and becomes elite but neither Goff nor Carr is elite especially when compared to their peer QB's. I can't ever see those two being considered a top 5 QB at any point in their career.
  8. I have 2 electric guitars, 2 acoustics, and bought a bass when lockdown started. I enjoy playing but know next to nothing about the technical mumbo jumbo and whatnot. As long as I can make loud noises with it it's good enough for me.
  9. This is why I can’t stand LeBron. He’s taken the path of least resistance to all of his titles. Do you think he goes back to Cleveland if the Cavaliers didn’t have 3 of the last 4 #1 overall picks? How about the Lakers if they didn’t have 3 consecutive #2 overall picks? He’s like the aliens in Independence Day. He consumes all of a teams resources in pursuit of a championship and then moves on. Here’s to Giannis winning one in Milwaukee as a true alpha. I don't understand the hatred for players building a "superteam" to win a title. Isn't that what we want out of our athletes, to win? Unless they're cheating why does it matter how they do it? It's a lot better than when in MLB when the top free agents sign a ridiculously huge contract with a crap team after talking about how much they want to play for a winner.
  10. I think it's entirely likely there are 4-5 QB's from what was a terrible 10 year period who get in. I've always thought Luck would come back after taking a couple of years off. I think Matt Ryan and Stafford have arguments. And there are quite a few guys who are just getting going from that time frame. New England has draft picks and more salary cap room than just about any other team. Dak is certainly off to a very strong start. Goff is 25 years old and when you take away his Jeff Fischer season, he's put up pretty big numbers. Carson Wentz looks awful, but he was easily on a HOF trajectory coming into this season and I'm not writing him off at age 28. Hell, even David Carr is now in a situation where he could thrive. They've given him a ton of weapons, he has a nice body of work before Gruden got there and he's still got potentially 10 years left. I think there's a good chance you get at least 4 QB's from this group that makes it to the Hall, not just one. And given many others are still on the right side of 20 and have put up big numbers, it's way too early to write off many of them. If Goff, Wentz, or Carr even sniffs the Hall of Fame it is officially a joke. These guys are barely even top 10 QB's right now. They would have to have one hell of a finish to their career to become even reasonably justifiable members.
  11. I barely follow the NBA but I never understood why the Bucks had "show they wanted to win" to get him to sign (not to mention don't they have the best record in the NBA the last two years, what more can they do?). If he wanted the most money the Bucks were his only option. And if he truly wanted to go somewhere else for whatever reason he could just force the Bucks to trade him and still can at any point like pretty much every superstar player does.
  12. I guess this means Tim Dillard is coming back to the Brewers organization.
  13. 6 feet is no longer the magic number.
  14. Won't make a difference in the results. And if guys are afraid of getting hurt swinging the bat they should probably start working on that now.
  15. I don't care one way or another what they decide but for MLB to not give them a definite answer this far into the offseason is asinine.
  16. The White Sox look primed to be the next team to correctly do a rebuild only to screw it all up the first time they look competitive.
  17. That's what the Wisconsin State Department of Health Services Secretary said today. I doubt there'll be many people attending games at Miller Park in 2021. No way they'll be at full attendance at any point.
  18. It's not did they "work" to stop the spread or not. It's was the spread that was stopped worth the other costs. Killing the economy, killing small businesses, keeping people from going to the doctor for other health reasons, mental health, lost classroom time for kids, etc. I don't have the answer because it's not a black and white answer. It's a million shades of gray and anyone who claims to have an answer made up their mind well beforehand. I don't remember who said it but I think it was some health official in New York said if we prevented one COVID death then it was all worth it. Sorry to sound cold hearted but that line of thinking is flat out stupid and goes against all logic.
  19. I guess it depends if you want to compare the current group of QB's to other QB's currently in the Hall of Fame or only to their peers. I think it should be only to their peers. In that case Brady, Rodgers, Ben, and Brees get in. The other guys that age don't. I don't think you can have that many guys playing the same position at the same time be Hall of Famer's without devaluing what exactly a Hall of Famer is.
  20. You can't compare military personnel to the general public when it comes to following orders. You can make all the quarantine, social distance, whatever rules you want but John Q Public (and apparently a whole lot of the same people that are making the rules) is still going to do whatever they want.
  21. It was almost exactly one year ago that I read an article about hundreds of people getting sick from a mysterious flu in a Chinese village. I figured I would never hear a word about it again.
  22. Relievers are so crazy inconsistent year to year and even within a season, then factor in coming off TJ, that I'm fine with trading Corey for anything instead of paying him $5M. Use that money for a bench player that can hit his weight. For once, let's dump a reliever before he Turn-blows a season away.
  23. Has he ever said that people shouldn't have parties? I really don't know. If he has, then he's a turd person. If not, then he's not a hypocrite and that's my problem with these people. If you tell me that getting together with my family for Thanksgiving is a danger to myself and others and I should not do it for the greater good of society but then you go ahead and do it yourself you've put yourself above everyone else and decided that rules don't apply to you. Or you don't believe a word you're saying and are only saying it for personal or political gains. Either one is a bad look but is really just par for the course for what we have for "leaders" right now.
  24. Do you have a suggestion as to how? Remove them from their positions as I said. If you want to make the rules you need to live by those rules as well. Unfortunately, that describes about 99% of those in government so it will never happen.
  25. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/12/03/austin-mayor-cabo-coronavirus/ All these people who have been doing the very same things they're condemning the general public for doing need to be removed. I've made clear I generally don't care one way or another how people are living their lives during the pandemic but the hypocrisy needs to be called out and those people need to be held accountable.
