  1. Are we sure there aren't any comp picks that would slot in before the Brewers?
  2. This guy makes me sick. I wouldn't mind seeing Garza being booed out of miller park at the start of next season.
  3. Segura has been very good lately. Hope he carries this into 16.
  4. Is Jungmann on any kind of innings limit? He's at around 160 IP this year, including MLB and minors, which exceeds any prior year for him. Without being shut down he's on pace to get close to 200 IP.
  5. The camera angle didn't show much but it seemed like nobody was backing up Santana on that inside the park HR. Braun never even came into the picture.
  6. I don't think anybody is anticipating "greatness" from Davies but he has had a decent season in AAA and minor league career and is worth giving a look. Timing makes perfect sense as the Brewers are in need of a starter and they don't seem to have any better options. I don't see how this has any connection to being "anxious about showcasing the deal on Parra to justify dealing Fiers." That seems like a weird train of thought. Maybe offer up a suggestion of which starter should be called up instead of this almost conspiracy like theory.
  7. Between Peralta and Cravy the Brewers might as well just put Lohse back in the rotation to ride out the year.
  8. Yes, good one. Davies seems like the next best option.
  9. Looking a little deeper minors stats I suppose there isn't much choice. They could go with Burgos, or go back to Lohse. Might as well give Cravy a long leash, I suppose. It's too bad to see that Thornburg and Hellweg seem to have regressed severely after being bit by injuries.
  10. I'm all for giving young guys a chance but Cravy does not seem like he belongs in the rotation or has any chance to be there long term, so whats the point? No other options, I guess? This is the battle for the bottom. Brewers proved to be better than Philly but can they match up against Miami.
  11. He is also a California native and has spent the majority of his career there, so perhaps this is right where he wants to be if he is not in a head coaching position elsewhere.
  12. baseball stats scenario question: Jungmann leaves game after 5 2/3 with a runner on first. There was a fielding error during the inning. The error was from a previous batter. The runner on first singled. If that runner scores, is Jungmann charged with the run?? I thought pitcher is off the hook if there are two outs and there was an error in the inning. "BA" said he is on the hook for the run and that's what got me wondering if my understanding is wrong.
  13. I just took a look back on the bfnet reaction to Hardy for Gomez and how much this trade has exceeded expectations for many: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=20772 On top of two all star seasons from Gomez, the JJ Hardy trade could continue to reap benefits for many years to come with the new wave of prospects.
  14. Phillips is #21 on the mid season top 50 which is a good indicator where he will be going into next season. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/midseason-top-50-prospects2015/ Domingo Santana was in the mlb.com top 100 going into the season and is on other top 100 lists.
  15. How about Wheeler for Gomez?
  16. Good trade. May this be the first of many trades for the brew crew in the coming week. I hope to see someone else gone tomorrow.
  17. Who would be the Brewers #5 pitcher if Lohse and Garza are traded, dropped, or demoted after July 31? I would like to see anybody but them in the rotation. This team is becoming surprisingly exciting to watch.
  18. I just think it would be a nice to have a top 5 pick and good for their future as these picks seem to have a much higher likelihood of success than say, pick #12. That doesn't mean I won't root for them to win. I will enjoy watching an improved team. In fact that is what will keep me watching.
  19. Seems like the brew crew have been playing pretty good lately. I guess in the second half they will be greatly improve, providing more entertaining play, while also playing themselves out of a top draft pick. As long as Logse and Garza are in the rotation the team has significant limitations.
  20. 6 man rotation seems like the best idea all things considered.
