  1. Good call, dead Simmons. I wasn't sure what you meant by this in a 2-2 tie game, but you got it right.
  2. The curse of the 100 pitch limit strikes again. Dodgers have been struggling all season with the 8th inning. Grienke was rolling - a 2 hit shutout through 7. But OH NO! He has 102 pitches so Don puts in J.P. Howell who promptly blows the lead. You just need Grienke to go one more inning to get to Kenley and the game is over. I can see maybe in the regular season stressing the 100 pitch limit but in the playoffs down 0-1. Stupid Stupid Stupid.
  3. I was really impressed by the Royals last night maintaining a 2-2 tie for six innings and then pulling out the victory in the 11th. And their Wild Card win was one of the most exciting baseball games I've ever seen. I am rooting for them big time. Aoki made a couple of amazing catches last night and had a huge smile on his face; he was having a great time. I miss Aoki. Lorenzo Cain looks real good too. Let's go Kansas City Brewers!
  4. Way to go Logan Schaefer : i certainly wasnt expecting him to come through with the go ahead RBI there
  5. I don't know why I'm bothering to watch anymore but here I am with the game on - and 1 of only 5 posters on bf.net. Go Brewers. Just win 8 in a row and the playoffs are yours. Yeah right.
  6. Pirates announcers heavily suggesting he deserves to be canned. Could see it that Broxton was about to blow the lead again.
  7. I agree. This looks more like an A ball stadium than AAA.
  8. Martinez just walked two batters and the bases are loaded. Take a pitch!
  9. I just read a report that the Giants might stick with the Grizzlies. City of Fresno's mayor is involved however, so it might just be politics. It may be two weeks until we hear a decision. http://www.mercedsunstar.com/2014/09/15/3850467_giants-grizzlies-fresno-remain.html?rh=1 I live in CA now and I would check out a game if the AAA Brewers come to Fresno, so I'm hoping for this to happen. But I got a feeling the Brew Crew land in Colorado.
  10. Pitching probables for rest of year are up on ESPN: http://espn.go.com/mlb/schedule?date=20140915 STL 9/16-18 Tues: Peralta vs Lynn Wed: Fiers vs Wainwright Thurs: Lohse vs Miller PIT 9/19-21 Fri: Gallardo vs Locke Sat: Garza vs Volquez Sun: Peralta vs Morton CIN: 9/23-25 Tues: Fiers vs Cueto Wed: Lohse vs tbd (possibly Corcino per Reds rotation) Thurs: Gallardo vs Holmberg CHI: 9/26-28 Fri: Doubrant vs Garza Sat: Turner vs Peralta Sun: Wood vs Fiers
  11. I see no issue at all with ESPN making note of the Brewers epic collapse. Going from first place to going into a tailspain and losing 12/13 in a row is very noteworthy.
  12. Why was Logan Schaefer just batting with bases loaded and 2 outs in a 1 run game? Isn't it September callups with a deep bench? They decide to stick with the worst hitter on the team!!! Do they want to win?
  13. Sure would be nice to see the Brewers win tonight. I am starting to lose hope and don't want that to happen. GO!
  14. 14-12 bringing the season down to the final weekend and possibly requiring a play in game. 3-4 vs St. Louis and 11-8 vs everyone else. Broxton will be a big help Nelson will be useful out of the pen Offensive rebound starts this weekend vs the cubs some SP strugles require adjusting of the rotation and 100 pitch count standard
  15. Last year they went 13 - 14 in August. This statement by Rock County isn't exactly a prediction, but if it's meant to be then he got it right. Several posters including me predicted the Brewers would come in around .500 and that would put them in the thick of the playoff race come September. And that's where we are at now, so let's just hope that this weekend was the rock bottom low point of their losing skid. And in September they have a good month to make the playoffs.
  16. You have to pay each callup about $50,000 for the month in salary plus travel costs. Might sound like chump change in mlb but its enough to consider for guys who will never play.
  17. Totally agree, let him go into his next start confident. Send him out tired for the 4th time through the order, he gives up a couple, totally kill the mojo of his outing. It doesn't have to be like that. You could send him out for the 9th and pull him if a single baserunner is allowed before two outs are recorded. That's how I'd do it rather than living and dying by #100 pitches.
  18. Pirates are down 2-1 against the Padres, and they just failed to score in the bottom of the 8th with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs.
  19. There is a dispute over dodger TV rights making Dodger games limited even in the LA market. Most people in the LA market can't even watch the dodgers. Only people with Time Warner can get the new Sports Net LA and it's not even the primary cable company in LA and is not even available in parts of Southern California.
  20. I like it how we are in August and Wily Peralta leads all of MLB in wins. Havent heard people mentioning that at all.
  21. Last month I predicted the Brewers would go 16-9 and made a specific prediction that they would sweep the Cardinals July 11-13. Unfortunately they ended up doing the exact opposite of that going 9-16 and getting swept by the Cards on those dates. For August I will tone it down and just predict they go 14-13 which would probably put them right on the playoff bubble going into the final month.
