  1. just a reminder tomorror starts spring madness good...tonight's crowd is absolutely horrible...they need it
  2. Brady Clark.. what a fluke last year was.. settle down. We all know his stats show it wasn't a fluke. Great job by Brady...it's good to see a sac fly for once from this team...a sign of things to come?
  3. that's the first time I've ever seen Rickie try to bunt for a hit, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a righty have a more perfect bunt, or beat a bunt by more
  4. that hurts a bit...Lee ran after it, slowed down at the last second to play it on a hop, and it must have skipped or something, cause it skidded right past him. ouch
  5. on the first batter (Freel), Fielder broke right to grab it, then stopped and ran to the bag. But by the time Weeks was ready to throw, Freel was practically on the bag. Just a soft bouncer hit right to the hole that froze our 1b just long enough for a speedster to beat it out. As for Hardy, he hit it 2 steps onto the track...not all that close. Lee's was hit hard, but came down halfway back on the track Small strike zone tonight. It especially is hurting Ohka, as he's thrown 4-5 at the knees that are called balls
  6. could be a rough first. Ohka seems to be throwing alright, but a seeing eye single, a single because of the confusion speed can cause although now a DP. They got the run, but I think we'll get a few
  7. I'm hoping Festa starts getting it going today. He was a fun guy to follow in Helena in '04, but apparently his skills can't handle A-ball.
  8. DHonks - If you were in my league I would gladly trade away one of my 5 closers for an OF, since Griffey is officially on the 15 day DL. can we trade leagues? I looked at rosters, and it's rough. I can't find someone with 2 closers.
  9. Pettitte going tomorow. Gotta say that I think Gross has earned a start, I just don't know where. Good job coming back. I had written this one off, and went to get some grub. I think they said Weeks has a 6 or 7 game hitting streak...I had no idea! and Fielder is now 19 for his last 33 if my math is correct.
  10. geez, you guys are rough. True, I do generally support the guys who produce results, but I never gave up on Neugy and Gold when many others did because of control issues. Rogers' night is impressive. He walked only 1 in 3 IP, struck out a whopping 5. And it's a step in the right direction. Now in the next outing, let's hope he goes 4 innings, 2 or fewer runs, and only 1 or 2 BB. Let's give him a few starts to find some rythym. I'm betting his line at the end of the year will look mighty impressive
  11. just checking, but didn't we open 4-0 last year, only to find ourselves several before .500 shortly thereafter? It happens, and it has happened before. No need to give up though
  12. wow, thanks Brian. I was very frustrated with whisky the other day. I've never rooted for someone to be booted before. But several of us tried to warn him, and he just got more and more annoying
  13. Doesn't Oswalt usually own us? I don't see that changing
  14. wow, Huntsville already in action, and against the Fall Leaguers. The top three in the order were on my squad. Elliot Johnson was the always rare "signed as an undrafted free agent out of high school". So he's beat some amazing odds in getting to AA
  15. what's funny is that assuming they can win Wednesday, if they can steal one tomorrow vs Oswalt, then it'll be a very successful roadtrip
  16. well, he hit it hard. nice try in the 9th Interesting to see Lidge throwing fastballs. Last year the scouting report must have been different, because I remember noting that against the Brewers he was throwing at least 75% sliders.
  17. wow, looked safe at 3rd...some luck
  18. we need Turnbow to learn to throw 3 innings if this is gonna happen again
  19. Peavey, I meant a tough play for Prince, because it was a long stretch into the basepaths. He should have been called out.
  20. can we charge an error to the ump?
  21. tough play, but I thought Prince had it for sure. Replay shows he knocked it out
  22. ours is up 34000 per game.. It's not just those cities. All cities not called Boston or New York struggle to get fans on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. It's like that in all sports. Heck, we had a tough time getting students to non-saturday evening basketball games at my university.
  23. wow, Nelson Cruz w/a 2-out, walkoff 2 run homer. And isn't it fun to see Matt Yeatman back?
  24. anyone else noticing Jeff Fassero is starting for the Giants against the Dbacks. With the Giants up early, maybe we'll see Fassero vs Mulholland for a few innings in a battle of 1993...err, I mean 2006
  25. darn, new I should have played Gross in fantasy baseball, just off a hunch. Come on Let's pile on
