  1. come on Prince, how about a nice double
  2. holy cow...great AB there, and on a 3-2 pitch. Let's pile on now, let De La Rosa or Capellan just finish it
  3. I would guess Cappy in the 8th, then Wise and Turnbow.
  4. someone should point out to the announcers that last year's sign that Cappy was dealing was when he alternated changeup away, fastball in to righties, and they couldn't touch them. Of course, his pattern never received press, and was rarely mentioned, but anyone watching Cappy enough saw his pattern to righties
  5. As much as I like pitchers bunting, Cappy is a weapon at the plate, and I am not sold on that call. However, Clark once again hit the ball well only to get out
  6. wow, after defending the umps last night, that was iffy there. Looked like he picked off Wilson on the last attempt, then looked like he struck out Casey on the 1-2 pitch at the knees.
  7. Was correct on about 2 of 6 predictions yesterday, calling Hardy and Lee homers. Today I'll call Fielder, Weeks, and Lee homer
  8. Prince using a different bat, not the reddish one
  9. wow, well, called Weeks, Hardy, and Lee homers. 2 of 3 is a good start. come on Prince and Rickie
  10. way to go Geoff. I've bashed you a lot in the past, but you're getting a free pass for a while. Your comments have been encouraging about your approach.
  11. as I said before, I'm pretty sure the calls were correct. There seemed to be a gap between JJ's foot and the bag, although I'd like to think he had the play and the ump just blew it. On that one Cirillo was almost on the grass.
  12. He sure knows how to play to the crowd. I just hope he's around long enough to win game 7 of the series for us
  13. come on Rickie, get into scoring positon
  14. Perez with a true Randy Johnson like outing. I don't think he hit the glove once. Not only that, I doubt he came within a foot of his target more than a handful of times. That strikeout/WP to Jenkins was what, 4 feet away from his target?
  15. The umps are blind... clancy, I am tempted to agree. We have like 1000 new camera angles, yet none show how close his foot came. Still, I have to defer to the Fall League's Questec meeting when we heard that MLB umpires miss strike/ball calls less than 1% of the time. They're right more often than their counterparts in the other professional sports.
  16. wow, nice drive for Clark. Too bad they didn't put the picnic area in LF, cause he'd have two jacks today
  17. you mean 1.000 for Carlos. Prince on pace for around 650 K's
  18. well, Perez looks unhittable against lefties, almost dropping down w/a rising fastball. But righties are getting good looks. Anyone have the righty-lefty splits from last year?
  19. vamac53, my feeling is that if it's not the pitcher's fault off the bat, it should always be ruled an error. I don't care about excuses for a mistake, the pitcher should have been credited with an out
  20. nice half inning. Got out of a pair of jams. miscues by Lee and Davis didn't cost us. Come on now, let's get some runs boys
  21. okay brewerjamie, I'll join with some predictions. Brewers win 8-3 (Dbacks, my other team, win 11-4). Clark reaches base on a solid single in the first, scoring on a JJ Hardy hit-and-run. In the game, Lee, Weeks, and Hardy all homer. Jenks with a double. Polish wins the race.
  22. great to hear about Childers, as he was a personal favorite for a long time. I may have to tune in to that game to see if he throws
  23. All indications from Melvin/Ash comments show that Parra will be starting in Extended spring training or A+. Narron had Tommy John surgery around 10-12 months ago.
  24. I doubt it. I don't think he'd be that much better than a guy like Helms at 3B, judging from the few times I've seen him. He's not all that big. I guess I figured 5'10-6', maybe 180-190 lbs, so that's why I was wondering about his range.
  25. also, in a pinch can he play a passable SS? He seems at least offensively capable to be better than many backups.
