  1. Lee is the man come on Geoff, you're due!
  2. He doesn't have the command to start and be consistently successful yet, as he'll only be able to go ~5 innings before hitting 100 pitches. He's going to be a fantastic starter someday, though. Hmmm...young hard throwing lefty, broken in via the bullpen. I'd say our "friends" in Minnesota have heard this one before
  3. So how many In-N-Out burgers is that? that might be a whole lot of 4x4's animal style. I deal in White Castles. I feel sorry for you Toby. Had them one time and I was thoroughly disgusted.
  4. you know, I don't mind his strikeouts swinging. But he strikes out looking way too much. Come on Russell, give yourself a chance
  5. Put one on for Russel "big boy" Branyan and have him give us a 2 run lead But the legend of Russell the Muscle would only grow if he were to hit a two run shot with nobody on.
  6. wow. I don't agree with running there, and I'm a huge advocate of steals. Although it appeared Brady's slide got his toe on the bag at the same moment he was tagged on the thigh. He was safe, but no ump will ever make that call
  7. Brady has got to be happy with the dribblers going for hits. Until his bat starts spraying liners, the HBP and dribblers will keep getting the job done
  8. Would you have put Neifi Perez in as a pinch-hitter instead of the other available options? I probably would have gone with Kelton to have the chance to hit the salami. However, he also might have been more likely to strikeout. Down a few runs, they needed a run. A DP or K (I would assume more likely with the slugger) would have killed the rally). Still, that is managing with the worst possible outcome. Batting Kelton looks at the best possible outcome. In the end, they tied the game, so whatever happened worked.
  9. the only second-guessing I have is because I said it earlier. Why when your started goes 5, do you go to a short-term option? Why not Obermueller, De La Rosa, or Wise to get you 2-3 innings? I just don't get why Maddux did that
  10. you guys are hilarious. His team just tied the game, appear poised to take the lead in this inning, and you guys are criticizing him
  11. Is it just me, or does Miller seem to be letting a lot of balls get by him thus far? yeah, Friday he dropped a few too. His arm and instincts have been great back there, but please start catching the fastballs
  12. Russell and Cirillo have been sharing ideas. Cirillo is gonna hit the homers now, and Russell will hit the singles
  13. that's the reason I'm sleeping better this year...Renteria made that offense run smoothly. Also, Lieber working a 1 hitter, 61 pitches through 6...a classic Lieber game
  14. Carlos Lee is just barely missing these pitches. He's close, and could be looking forward to meeting Miller Park
  15. Santos w/75 pitches already. I hope that when he takes the mound in the 5th that Obermueller or De La Rosa is up in the pen.
  16. Toby, I'd send everyone in two situations: -Maddux is on the hill -Piazza is catching
  17. The Hurricane must still be brewing for the 2005 season
  18. woah, looked to me like Junior's arm was in there before the fielder caught it. Ump made up his mind a bit early
  19. the Nashville gamecast shows Scarborough just hit a 2 run game-tying jack. Roids?
  20. well, Sheets didn't have his A-game. Curve looked like the curve of pre-'04 with no command. But need some offense boys
  21. I'd still start Cirillo since Zambrano has such filthy movement. Either him or Branyan is fine though. Here's to hoping Ben is pissed about how the Cubbies treated him last year and throws a gem. Although those flyballs in the 1st game won't cut it. Might need to rack up the K's
  22. I'll give some love to Housman and TBD
  23. prince and weeks with bombs....nice. yeah Scoop. Not sure the most encouraging news: -Krynzel with a walk, 2 doubles, 3 RBI, and SB -Weeks with 2-run homer (beginning to show the power we've all read about??) and RBI 2B -Fielder with his second jack in 2 nights; PCL, meet Mr. Fielder -Nelson with his a walk (didn't he have 2 last night?)
  24. i'm gonna listen to Li'l Ben -Capellan likely to miss a start because of a blister. -towards the end of his outing last night he started overpowering hitters --Stan Kyles In Progress: Nashville 14, New Orleans 4 --top 5 -Li'l Ben walks first 2 batters, then serves up a 1 out homer. -after 1/2, 26 pitches (12 strikes), 2 groundouts, one K-looking -bottom 1--Krynzel leads off second consecutive game with a walk, then steals second; Weeks 2 run HR to left -bottom 2--Orie leads off bottom 2nd w/solo HR; RBI 2b just inside 1b bag for Krynzel -top 3--Hendrickson retires the side in order; 6 consecutive put down -bottom 3--Prince with massive bomb to leadoff the inning, standing ovation; Krynzel 2-run RBI pure-hustling 2b; Weeks RBI 2b to complete batting around -top 4--Hendrickson with 2 K's, then a hit and a walk. had retired 8 in a row, throwing more strikes. -bottom 4--Nelson 2b to leftcenter gap -top 5--Meyers in for Hendrickson (4 IP 3 H 3 R 3 ER 4 BB 5 K) I'm gonna head out. As of now, Krynzel 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, Weeks with a double, triple, and homer. Fielder with the homer. Hart 1-5, Nelson 2-3 with a walk
