  1. Toby, does FO include popups? Some pitchers always induce weak popups that are hard to quantify. I prefer GO pitchers, but am not averse to certain types of FO pitchers
  2. AT&T stated they have a lot more in the pipeline, but they wanted to be able to deliver a product they could guarantee. I'm thinking of switching for my second home. I currently deactivate DirecTv for 6 months a year, and this is a lot more cost effective
  3. not sure all the complaining. Carter was far and away better than Fielder, while Gennett is far better than Weeks.
  4. Given that Thorny had an amazing half season and his elbow is held together by duct tape and chewing game thanks to a PRP injection, I think this is the epitome of selling high. I like the haul.
  5. Nice to know we have some control over our destiny. If we go 4-0, we'd gain a minimum of 1 game on the Lions. Lions face cowboys, giants, packers, and the bears.
  6. Not at all a Bucky fan here (as hoops fans here know). But isn't Wisconsin pretty marginal and one-sided at offense this year? They happened to win some great games due to efficiency, but I never heard Badger fans really talking about how good the offense was this year. This was more of a defense-heavy squad. Of course, I could be wrong
  7. Really hoping for the Saints to win this weekend. Stafford has been awesome in the 4th quarter much of his career, and this year has been an extension of that.
  8. I like this creativity as well. The indications from writers is that the Brewers anticipated Carter's arbitration price tag going to as much as $11-12 million. I understand why they made this move, although I hope the new CBA doesn't magically do away with pitchers hitting
  9. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/reports-nfl-will-propose-formal-developmental-league-in-2017-163617861.html looks like a developmental league may come back. Looks like I can read minds
  10. I've been noticing a lot of people lately in Arizona that stop at stop lights, but leave 1-2 car lengths between them and the crosswalk. I hate that this time of year the snowbirds migrate here from cooler climates. When they're driving around, 50mph roads start moving 40, 45 move 35, etc. And grocery checkout lines are awful. I need my local store to bring back the self checkout line, as I'm tired of people paying with check or cash.
  11. Years ago, before Chip Kelly started at Oregon, statisticians figured that teams should nearly always go for 2 (except late in games when 1 is needed) and should nearly always go for it on 4th and short past their own 40 or so. The increase in expected points from resulting TD's would offset the occasional points given up I'd let Cobb go and try to restructure Matthews to a lower salary. Cobb can't play outside and isn't fast enough or elusive enough for the slot. He's really a good 4th receiver or weak 3rd. One side note, those two lobs to Cook were the first two times all season that I saw Rodgers put air underneath the ball and led his receiver.
  12. Just amazing the injury luck. I'd love for the NFL to adopt the MLB injury/roster policies. The guys are just too big and strong today, so injuries are worse. -Eliminate practice squads. Give teams a 65 man roster. -50 gameday active players -introduce a DL (like 60-day DL), where players must miss a set number of games (minimum of 2 or 3), but can allow the team to sign a replacement player to the roster -invest in a real minor leagues. Make it 8 teams (4 NFL teams per minor leaguer squad) in the US and Canada. Each team gets 8 players for the team, with the rest of the spots filled by the NFL personnel/scouting department. \
  13. If Wang were still throwing 94-96, I'd say he's a lock. But reports this year were of him in the high 80s. That's just not as sexy
  14. MrTPlush, one reason Wisconsin typically out-rebounds opponents is because they shoot so many long shots. It's not always easy to anticipate the long rebounds. One thing I don't hear the Wisconsin fans mentioning is that Creighton is a very fine team. They're well-coached, nationally ranked, play in a tough environment, and are in a strong conference. It's better to lose early than late, so this is a good learning experience for the Badgers if they allow it to be.
  15. LouisEly, that's funny and crazy at the same time. But anything diet isn't good for you as well--it has a sweetener and those are reported to be worse than real sugar for people. Brewing green tea on your own would be best. It's much cheaper than your store-bought tea, and better for you. I love that CVS doesn't sell tobacco products now, but they sell candy, soda, ice cream, and alcohol.
  16. The difference so far is Marquette has been on the attack. Perhaps it's the personnel or the increased experience, but this team has a different look so far. Instead of waiting for the play to develop, we have guys that can attack and create
  17. Is there anyone in the minors to carry on the knuckleball tradition? Wakefield had a long run with the Pirates and Red Sox. Sparks had a long run. Dickey is having a nice run.
  18. I hate the Cubs. More than that, I hate the fair-weather Cubs fans I know. They never watched or listened to games until the last 36 months. In fairness, 2 of my favorite ex-Fall Leaguers were the key Cubs--Zobrist and Montero.
  19. The Cubs throw a game 5 no-hitter, but lose the game to clinch the Indians' series! Here's to another 100 years of no championships!
  20. Actually, not sure of age, but last year they had the 2nd fewest games played of any team in the country
  21. night shift is a very nice feature I've enjoyed since it came out last spring. older devices than what 1992casey said also can utilize it. I use it on my iPad Air 2 and my fiancé on her iPad Air
  22. splitterpfj, best of luck to Tyler. His numbers have been strong. Unfortunately extended spring training and an injury likely put him behind the 8-ball with the organization's high draft picks.
  23. Toby, I know it's a different regime, but Scott is probably there for the same reason Bausher, Wolfe, etc were.
  24. Adam, that depends on what route they took. Was this a repair or a removal? We don't know that. Dwayne Wade's issue has had lasting effects
  25. I think Marquette should make a nice run this year. Duane Wilson and JaJuan Johnson made huge progress last year, and I'm pegging both for Blue-like breakout seasons. Cheatham can't really break out since he was one of the best freshmen in the country last year. I really want to see how Rowsey does. Remember, Nova is always really talented and they basically run a 4-wing offense (3 true guards and a super athletic small forward). Marquette should be fine this year in a very tough conference. I'd love to see Cohen grow as well.
