  1. Right now Henderson is not on rehab. His rehab assignment expired, so he's just on the DL while assigned to rehab in Maryvale. I don't know why Lee16 thinks he's done for the season. Roenicke says he's throwing 94, so he's close. We haven't heard anything about Thorny, so we can't speculate. Sounds like nothing structural
  2. Mass, I forgot they changed things. The deadline to add guys to the 40-man used to be in late November. We used to see guys celebrate when they got the call about being added to the 40-man.
  3. I like that the AZSnakepit guy uses "The Uecker Line," as I've been urging people for the last 5 years.
  4. This trade doesn't make sense. We gave up a high draft pick for a defense-only OF.
  5. Parra is a below avg offensive player. Davis will start. We strengthened our bench here. Are the Brewers not as excited about Haniger as we thought? Seems we could have called up Gindl to replace Schafer and gotten a player more suited to our needs (decent defender, good offensive potential)
  6. Hey all. Some things have probably changed since I worked in the afl, but the requirements used to be only 1 kid from lower than AA and they generally must be from a nation with no winter league. Alcides went at 18 bc no Venezuelan team wanted him at that time. The brewers generally send guys coming off injury and at least one outlier (Bausher and other minor league free agents come to mind). Here's my guess: Zarraga Heckathorn/Wooten/Jeffress Nick Ramirez/Taylor green (in bid for last chance at 40-man) Richardson/kentrail Davis Bradley Blazek
  7. I'd offer segura, Davis, Taylor/coulter, ptbnl (thorny) for price and zobrist. Zobrist at SS, Gindl lf
  8. I'd like to know how Hector Gomez went from crappy with good defense in Brevard, crappy with good defense in Huntsville, to solid offensive contributor in Nashville. His best OBP with the Brewers had been .238, this year it's .305! If this is real, he could be another solid backup middle infielder like Josh Prince and Jeff Bianchi.
  9. First off, you say you're not good at salary cap construction. You know there's no salary cap, right? Gordon would be a great option. It would depend on if the Brewers feel he'll play better than Davis, especially given their price differences. I'd rather try to go after Tulo or a 1b given our needs there.
  10. In fairness, Hart is better than Schafer or Herrera. The goal is to have the best squad, and he'd add some depth.
  11. thanks for the condolences guys. Josh, I'm glad to hear he's whole-heartedly embraced the bullpen and--eventually--closing. He stuff looked awesome on Wed
  12. Josh, it was great to see Jeffress do well when I was at the game on Wednesday. Ironically, I was only in Milwaukee because I flew home to bury my brother (43 years old) who recently OD'd. I don't know if it's fair to say that JJ was addicted, but we know he has had many forks in the road and he's now choosing to take the road of sobriety (with drugs, not necessarily alcohol). I will continue to root for JJ as not just a Brewer, but also as someone who is now making better choices, just as I wish my older brother would have. One question...has JJ embraced his late-innings role, or does he have some desire to give starting another try? I think of guys like Adam Wainwright who had to become good relievers before they could become good starters. We already have Thornburg and Smith as guys that could potentially start one day, and I'm just curious of JJ's goals.
  13. sometimes the aging sluggers have a revival. Remember Big Papi being declared as washed up at least twice? not saying he'll be great. Bad defensively, but he's better than Prince or Francisco at first base. Also, I thought he was the same vs lefties as righties
  14. I was thinking he same thing. I love his power potential. If the Phillies would eat $15-19m each in 2015 and 16, this deal would make sense. Howard, at $6-10m sounds fair. I'd take Howard, Ramirez, and Reynolds manning 1b/3b for the rest of the season and next year
  15. good to see Komatsu back. I always like the OBP guys
  16. Bkrause2....the preferred term is "the Uecker Line".
  17. Has anyone claimed "DustinDeMuthcanrake" yet???
  18. -shirts untucked -home run celebrations -home run staredowns (note that due to creating this rule, the Cards are exempt and can stare as they wish) -lights played with to make hitting conditions unfavorable -Brewers are mean -Brewers won't get into old-fashioned beanball wars without Ned -Brewers praise Cardinals players and history while promoting their own players -Miller-Coors are better than Bud
  19. Rough to see that routine grounder. Scooter makes that play 99 times out of 100. Weeks??? well, what matters is he didn't make this one.
  20. In fairness, I loved it when Sheets did this to Bonds. It was the most obvious beaning attempts I'd seen until matched last night. Still, I thank Gibson for the win
  21. Patrick, it was mentioned in one of two places--jsonline or mlb.com. and johnbriggs, do you actually think a few (hopefully) decent starts in the majors would have increased Mills' trade value?
  22. Nelson 2014= cal eldred 1992
  23. Pretty simple. Signed as a minor league free agent, Mills had an opt-out clause that could be used if any team was to agree to immediately add him to their 25-man roster. Given the A's want him now, he could have opted out for free. Instead the Brewers likely got something for him. It's just based on the typical deal given to a minor league free agent
  24. well, we don't know how much cash the Brewers got. the JS blog just said that even if the Brewers got $1, they'd come out ahead of what they could have gotten.
  25. From the video, Medeiros' motion looks fairly normal. The name that pops to mind is Casey Fossum. But I see nothing weird about the motion
