  1. Like the Idea. Perhaps expand it to a 4 team Brewers get Odorizzi Royals get Greinke Arizona gets Cain and Jeffress Rays get Escobar
  2. I think it would be unwise of Stearns to count on Nelson for anything THIS season. Torn Labrum's scare me no matter what the severity. It's not a given that even when Nelson can work himself back that he will be anything close to the pitcher he was last season. Santana and Phillips for pitching makes sense, I'm hoping they can keep Shaw's name out of the picture.
  3. Love the fact the we Brewer fans are getting greedy We have earned and deserve this !
  4. got home from work to see this. Happy. but part of me is sad. I was thrilled when Sterns got Brinson for Lucroy. As I posted in the trade proposal thread, I really wanted to see how this rebuild played out. 5 years of Yelich in his prime, My co-worked Mr. Huge Cub fan is... (lets just say, not happy) which is probably why I like this trade the most.
  5. If they were to acquire Yelich I will shut up and be very happy... But Stearns has worked very hard to acquire top prospects, I really want to see how this all plays out in the next few seasons. If they are trading Brinson, I would hope it were for front line pitching, and not Archer or some 2-3 year then watch them leave. A legit top pitching prospect. So I can only hope there are other move in the works. Brinson could just as easily be Yelich in a season or two.
  6. Tanking to me is doing strange things like putting a position player in to pitch in the 5th when only down a couple run against another struggling team. Double switching your best player early when your starter struggles. Or playing Yuni at 1st. Trading valuable players for past their prime Major League players or to the Mets for the remainder of Bobby Bonilla's deferred contract is Tanking, acquiring young talent isn't.
  7. With Cappy back, just need to bring back Overbay once more to pick a few base runners off at 1st for old times sake.
  8. I looking forward to watching Jimmy Nelson pitch 200 IN, going 14-10 on a bad team with a 1.93 ERA and winning the Cy Young. Carter making himself comfortable in Miller Park with 35 HR, Including a couple awesome rafter-scraping moon shots, and the young players taking their first steps in what will be the Brewers future 5 time World Championship dynasty.
  9. Jonathan Lucroy and Khris Davis are notable in their absence
  10. Serious question, if the Current team is set upon Tanking, who does everyone see as their main competition t word the bottom? Philadelphia?, Oakland, Seattle? Think I might enjoy watching the "Race" to ineptitude this season. Will still attend my usual 6-7 games this year As for the topic, I've at least heard of Nieuwenhuis, at this point it doesn't seem to matter anymore if the goal is to lose. Perhaps they could make this old guy happy and have this team sponsored by Chico's bail Bonds.
  11. Brewers pitching and defense make them a lot more competitive than anyone expected, + Wisconsinites loving any excuse to tailgate on a warm summer day = 2,703,256
  12. I would feel a sense of Deja vu, as I am old enough to remember the Braves lame duck season in '65. albeit through a 7 yr. old's memory. (I know, I'm old!) I would still pay attention, but I doubt I'd spend any money supporting a lame duck team. Back then we loved the players, felt like we belonged. there isn't the same sense of belonging these days. we were naive enough to believe it wouldn't really happen, at least I was. Now days I would have no doubt. Can't see a team playing a lame duck season in a small market like Milwaukee these days, they would find a way to play near there new market, even in outdated faculties.
  13. This looks like one of those games where Gallardo will have to win this by himself.
  14. After this, I can honestly say it will not bother me if ESPN ignores the Brewers and never covers another game.
  15. I'm predicting a Kurjian stumble and faceplant halfway between home and the finish
  16. They do have the best ERA and FIP in the NL ... and of course they do play on the east coast.
  17. Just got home and feel like I missed 2 games worth of offense already. Segura with 2 home runs? Edit: Darn.. I jinxed him. got under that one
  18. Lucroy up at the plate, 9th inning, 3 runs in, I hear you loud and clear LETS GO BREWERS!
  19. Ridiculous Gibson. the officials in NY spent 4+ minutes looking at it and decided he's safe. what is there to argue?
  20. Nice catch Herrera. Another nice catch. Clearly no one wants Herrera playing CF everyday. but nice to see him redeem himself a little this inning.
