  1. I'm glad you guys appreciated it as much as I did. After watching that yesterday, I couldn't help but think of Game 162 of the 2008 season and the emotions that came out of me after that game. Crazy how baseball brings those things to the surface.
  2. Living in California, I think the only real place I ever considered not wearing Brewers gear was at Dodgers Stadium and this was in 2005, long before the Stow beating. I've worn my Brewers jersey yearly to Petco Park and Angels Stadium during Interleague and never had a single issue. Don't let the Stow beating or the overgeneralization about thug fans in California scare you away from supporting the Brewers. Typically, if you aren't the obnoxious fan and cheer at the appropriate time and not rub the opposing team's fans in it then you will be fine. I would find it highly unlikely you run into any issues. Especially in San Francisco given their overwhleming support of Barry Bonds who is a lot more suspicious than Ryan Braun.
  3. This really could go in the Random MLB topic but it is so good that it needs its own thread. I won't even give any of it away. Just watch and have a glorious day... "So real, it's unreal" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVGAfA15U1I
  4. Yes. That is evil. Plus I have Arnett targeted for Cleveland in my LaPorta deal Interesting.. I've had Arnett lined up for JJ Hardy for a year now. I change my mind...LiveforOctober I'm now standing in your line.
  5. If we knew what we had in Aoki already I would be more apt to agree with this. My fear is we deal Morgan, Aoki is not an adequate hitter in MLB and Schafer is thrust into the everyday lineup and CF sinks or swims with him as he will get most of the starts in CF. While I think he is ready for this, I am not 100% sold on the idea just yet.

  7. Seems like a lot of the FA pitchers to be are considering locking into deals now. The Greinke news about hiring an agent as well as a story from CSN Bay Area (link below) about Matt Cain and the Giants getting close seems to be drying up the market for FA pitchers after the season. Hopefully, Greinke and the Crew get this done before Opening Day. http://www.csnbayarea.com/blog/giants-talk/post/Contract-talks-dont-unnerve-Cain-in-spri?blockID=663992&feedID=2539
  8. Despite the fact this makes the Pirates better in the long term, I love this signing. Keeping a player with the talent of McCutchen in a small market brings a smile across this man's face.
  9. I agree. Those rankings are truly a waste of 3 minutes because they are based on absolutely nothing. There really aren't toomany "bad" uniforms in my opinion. I mean there are some tweaks I would like to see like the removal of all dark alternates but that is just my personal preference that isn't shared by many and certain teams scripts like the D-Backs and the Padres home script. As for the Brewers, I would love to see the Brewers adopt a home white alternate like the Yankees or Nationals home jerseys. The M with the barley on our hats is a classic logo in my opinion. Putting that on the left chest would look pretty sweet.
  10. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120227&content_id=26883238&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb Wow. He's a darn good catcher both offensively and defensively but that is a lot of cash for Molina. That is about $15-$20 million more than I would feel comfortable giving him considering he will be 30 in July.
  11. Even if he is more Kosuke Fukudome than Ichiro I think his signing will be considered a success. An average Fukudome season is .260/.361/.399. I'd take that right now for Aoki.
  12. I like the idea of Gamel in the #2 spot to see fastballs ahead of Braun. I don't know if Roenicke would consider this but it would be interesting to see a lineup of: 1. Morgan CF 2. Gamel 1B 3. Braun LF 4. Weeks 2B 5. Ramirez 3B 6. Hart RF 7. Lucroy C 8. Gonzalez SS That really lengthens the lineup to me. I know we bat the 2 lefties back to back but man that lineup looks good.
  13. Agreed. I actually am a Roenicke supporter but I agree that this could wait until the middle of the season to see how he has adjusted from some mistakes he made as a rookie manager. The lineup and his handling of it this year will be a big determining factor in what I think of Roenicke's adjustments.
  14. Now that Braun will not be suspended I personally would like to see the lineup look like this: 1. Morgan CF 2. Hart RF 3. Braun LF 4. Weeks 2B 5. Ramirez 3B 6. Gamel 1B 7. Lucroy C 8. Gonzalez SS Rickie would be a monster at #4 in my opinion. I posted in the 2012 prediction thread that I could see a Prince odd year production for Rickie. Given Braun's presence at #3 all season I will adjust my prediction for Rickie to .270, 32 HR, 105 RBI if he hits #4. He is our best option in my opinion to hit cleanup.
  15. FWIW...why did it sit in his fridge for two days? My local FedEx is open 7 days a week. So it was closed Saturday night. Why didn't he take it Sunday morning?
  16. If I recall correctly wasn't the test taken in St. Louis during the NLCS? I'm not trying to go all conspiracy theory here but you do have to believe Braun had been tested numerous times since 2007. All of a sudden during the NLCS against arguably our #1 rivals, he fails a drug test for the first time AND the sample sits in some guys refrigerator for 2 days? That doesn't sound right. Where there is smoke there is almost always fire.
  17. And here comes the spin from ESPN... karl ravech ‏ @karlravechespn Appears Brauns team won because a courier didn't take positive test to fed ex building thought it was closed Saturday night..protocol?
  18. Jon Heyman ‏ @JonHeymanCBS part of braun's argument was that the chain of custody was broken for 2 days, meaning the sample was left unprotected Seriously?? 2 days all by itself seems like an awful long time to this man.
  19. Jon Heyman ‏ @JonHeymanCBS Braun: "it is the first step in restoring my good name and reputation. we were able to get through this bec i an innocent ...''
  20. Tom ‏ @Haudricourt Ryan Braun has won his appeal of a drug suspension and will not be suspended for 50 games
  21. My sources are saying something similar. I have contacted ESPN to let them know.
