Based on what I am seeing, I would've been fine with Zimmer and Mejia instead of the other two or three. Not thrilled here I must say. Usually I am the optimist, but a feels more like the Mets Gomez deal than the Astros Gomez deal.

Color me unimpressed for the three in the title. A year and a half for Lucroy should net you one of Zimmer or Frazier. The fourth piece needs to be Mckenzie.

Been a fun day. Started with dreading me finding Nimmo in our lineup, been excited about Frazier or Zimmer and now am dreaming of Benintendi. Love the deadline. Wish we were in a place where we were adding but still love it nonetheless.

Amen. Being in SoCal, I would imagine I see him play and hear way more than you guys do. He is a cancer and pretty much an idiot. Adrian Gonzalez tried to take him under his wing and teach him about being a professional but that apparently didn't stick. Honestly, I would trade Carlos Torres for him straight up with the idea of flipping him but not much more.

Austin you may be right but no for me, way a deal gets done with Clevelan without Zimmer/Frazier as the headliner. Mckenzie and Mejia should be in as well. Like I have posted earlier, a Lucroy and Smith for Zimmer, Bradley, McKenzie and Mejia seems right to me.

In my mind, Mejia better be the third piece. One of Zimmer/Frazier One of Bradley/McKenzie Mejia Add in Smith and you get another SP (Sheffield)

If it is the Mets... They can start with Conforto, Dom Smith, D'Arnaud (only because they insist on moving him), Cecchini and Szapucki for Lucroy and Smith. If they don't like it, fine. Brewers FO can leak that D'Arnaud failed a physical and has a degenerative back problem. Someone else said it earlier, but Mets hate is growing exponentially by the day.

For me (caveat with for me), I do a deal for the following: Lucroy and Smith for 1. Zimmer or Frazier 2. McKenzie 3. Aiken or Sheffield 4. An Isan Diaz-type lottery ticket If I am the Brewers, Lucroy alone requires 1, 2 & 4. Adding Smith requires 3.

If the deal is Lucroy and Smith OR Jeffress for Benintendi, Kopech and Swihart....I am in.

I MIGHT consider Pinto or Pina to the Mets for D'Arnaud. Straight up.

The guy...especially if for some reason the Nationals offered Giolito for Lucroy. Bottom line is the Brewers rarely develop top of the rotation SP. If Giolito were on the table for Lucroy, I would gladly do a one for one.

I think this is the best the best case scenario for the Brewers in a Lucroy deal. I would expand this however and give up Jeffress as well for all 4 (Brinson, Tate, Matuella and Taveras).

He would hang up so fast you wouldn't even hear him laugh. I am sorry, but we just aren't going to get a prospect that good for Braun barring a complete utter maricle. I think Lucroy has tons more value than Braun and Robles is a huge dream to get. Though for Licroy maybe not impossible. Regarding the money I think $20mil will make a lot of teams happy. That way the contract is small enough to where if his injuries tank his production it won't be a big burden on the payroll. Or God forbid he gets suspended for an entire season(saves the money, but not the prospects they gave up to help them win games). OR make them feel better if his production naturally falls off in a year or two. People have to understand that paying him a big chunk of money and giving up prospects is not attractive to any team. You then have risks on the financial side and on the prospects you just sacrificed. It all depends on how desperate a team is and how the market shakes out. I always look to Cole Hamels who all the experts said the Phillies needed to eat money, but in the end I don't think they did and they got quite a haul. Honestly then, I would just hold onto Braun if we can't get two legitimate prospects in return for him. I realize there are injury risks and PED history with him that teams may want to stay away from, but the guy is still one of the best RH bats in baseball when he is healthy - and despite his indiscretions, he's been the face of our franchise since he came up about 10 years ago. I don't think we should give the guy away for an Adam Lind like deal where all you are getting back is a couple of lottery tickets. I think we should expect to get a couple of good prospects in return for him - guys that have a good shot of at least being MLB starters/contributors for us. I know it isn't my money, but I'd be willing to eat about 20 mil in the deal if it brought back two legit prospects in the deal. Our payroll isn't going to be high the next couple of years, and we were going to have to pay Braun that money anyway. But, if we can't get a good package in return for him, then let's just hold onto him. Either he ends his career as a Brewer, or maybe some other team gets desperate in the offseason or next July (if Braun is putting up great numbers again) - and then we can have this same discussion all over again. This is a pretty good summary of my feelings on the subject as well. For the record I don't want to move Braun. Period. However, if the Brewers decide to and the packages offered do not bring back prospects that are on par with his production, then I would much prefer to keep him and watch him end as a career Brewer.
