  1. I know Arizona is very high on Daulton and the price would be expensive. They are preparing him for the outfield as well so he may not be that blocked in Arizona.
  2. Why? Tucker and Whitley have struggled at the Major leauge level big time so far with some whispers that Tucker may need to overall his swing to have a chance to succeed in the Majors and Correa has had way to many injuries for his age. Myself I would rather have Yelich.
  3. With the Farm system SD has and there willingness to spend in FA I would think that would be very attractive to Maddon, kind of like when he came to the Cubs with a loaded farm club.
  4. I see this a lot, but it actually has little to do with expanded roster. In fact, he actually crunches playing time. Grandal catching every day, no rest for any of the starters really. Uses the same, top 7 or 8 relievers over and over. Hes not using 35-38 guys, he's using 25. And really, 20 as much as humanly possible. September has been about the 3 pitching acquisitions, Suter and Hiura coming back, and the team as a whole putting their game face on, and that part is definitely due to CC. To your point on Grandal CC really has had little opinion but to play him everyday there is little depth behind the plate right now. And with Yelich out Granddals bat has been a must as for the starters they have taken there normal starts however CC has gone to the bull pen even more then he had in the past and the pen is still be fresh . I n the end i could find stats to support my post you could find stats to support your post but instead let’s just enjoy the ride and agree to disagree.
  5. You can say what you want about Craig Counsell from April to the end of August about over or under management but when September 1 rolls around there is no better manger in baseball at managing expanded rosters ,no one.
  6. Color me not impressed Cubs got better Cards are surging and we get two starters with plus 5 eras two lottery ticket bullpen arms . ( and the worst farm club in baseball) looks like our one year window is poof.
  7. Don’t think we have up much ,but don’t think we got much back either totally stood pat . Got getter done with what we have
  8. No....so many were sky high on Corey Ray after last year too...what happened this year?? If Grisham can get you a controllable starter, you do it every single time. You can always find OFers. Don’t sell Ray short yet he’s had a lot of injuries this year the talent. Still there he has to start staying healthy and limit his is Ks.
  9. I’m a little concerned with a pitcher who at the college level has to use deception to be effective, not sure that will work in the majors with his arm speed.
  10. Hoping for more then a pitcher who projects as a 5th stater .
  11. Looks like the weakest affiliate of the Brewers at least to begin the season .......thoughts?
  12. I think there is to much emphasis being put on all in being all in or done now. we all know a team evolves from spring training to September and when the brewer brass states there all in ,in my mind means they will do what ever needed through out the season ,not just all in in February.
  13. While I totally understand the reasons for the call of going to a MLB wide DH rule it make prefect sense for today’s baseball, however the baseball purist in me and the love of the chess game the happens later in games in games with the pitchers hitting would hate to lose that part of the game.
  14. Would love to have him , a bull pen day off type pitcher that’s for sure ,just don’t think we have the Benjamins to make it happen ,but wish we could.
  15. I think we got a decent LOOGY but not liking the price we payed to get him. He’s young and has some control left but is he at his peak now ? In my opinion he may be . And I just don’t think that’s wroth the pick we gave up . I hope I’m wrong.
  16. We are the smallest market.......we can and do spend money.....we just can't compete financially with big market teams. These are facts.......you don't have to like them but it's silly to ignore financial realities. We have limitations that many other markets don't have so mistakes that we make hurt more. If you let that kind of rational run your team then you might as well give up. Before you start. If your not going to make a move or spend money because you might fail you have failed allready, and yes we are the smallest market but not the smallest revenue in MLB. The poster you're quoting LITERALLY said in the post we can AND DO spend money. Yet for some reason you decided to quote him.....yet ignore what he ACTUALLY said, then create a fictional argument that YOU could argue against, ie, that we're not going to spend money in order to suggest that the team coming off 96 wins and a game 7 loss in the NLCS has failed already if they're not going to spend money or make moves, something not one single person has suggested. Only that its' ridiculous to panic before the Winter Meetings take place because a couple teams have made big moves. We're supposed to try to be respectful...but it's not only disrespectful, it's intellectual dishonest to intentionally mis-represent what someone else says in order to keep throwing a tantrum because we haven't signed Bryce Harper or traded for the reigning Cy Young winner or other players of their caliber. What a shame that this board has come to this you take the time to personally attack me as not being respectful and undermining the post yet every word you said about my post was 100 percent false so false . The only post I have made on this subject is that if you fear fear it’s self then odds are you will not reach your goals ,however some out of that you get that I’m supporting large wild acquisitions this off season including but not limited to Harper. The exact things you claim I did you seem to have no problem do yourself . Next time please keep your comments to the post rather then personal attacks against a poster.

  18. A case of each team riding them selfs of excess they dont want or plays that had down years except the Yanks all ready have a way of riding themselves of Gray at a far less cost. So I can’t see the Yanks doing this .

  20. The one thing I do get tried of hearing is that we are the smallest market therefore we can’t spend money . I get it we don’t have the best tv contact compared to the big markets, however our gate revenue and sales is far from the bottom in the leauge .in a nutshell we have plenty to spend we just can’t spend stupid. To not spend because it may turn out to be a bad signing is not a wise move either. This GM has proven to find value in trades and FAs . We need to trust again that he will make wise investments.
  21. the answer to that is subjective at best lol
  22. Not saying he would be a bad choice, however isn’t he extremely old school ? Does he fit what our GM is looking for with his analects based coaching concepts? Huh? The Cubs got nothing out of Darvish and Chatwood, lost their closer for the last 2 1/2 months, and still had the 2nd best ERA in the NL and won 95 games despite their offense scoring 0 or 1 run in more games than any team in the NL. Pitching is pitching. Again I agree with you ....but will our GM ? He seems stuck on analects and I think that may show in who he hires.

  24. That’s very true if other clubs stay with the traditional type of rotations,However if this becomes the new normal most pitchers and clubs will be in the same boat. This is a copycat league and with Milwaukee and Tammy Bay have done very well with the 27 outs philosophy many will follow and at least for now save money doing it.
  25. The Pioneer leauge is a short season it’s not that big a deal in my mind ,playing in a triple a park with all the extras you will never see in any other park far out weighs any altitude issue .
