  1. phew. Davies should get through 6 at a minimum now and probably get into the 7th. Just need some more runs.
  2. Corey Ray led the Southern League in steals and homers last year.
  3. Has anybody ever led the league in steals and homers? I'd think not, but Yelich has a chance.
  4. Braun should destroy Pomeranz, but he's looked horrible tonight.
  5. Nice send by the windmill there. Belt can't really throw.
  6. NO! Santana is set to make $21M next year and $17.5M in 2021. Bauer is arby eligible and due a big raise from his current $13M contract. Both are too expensive for the Crew. Option year in 2021. Chacin, Anderson, Thames, Moose, Grandal and Gonzalez are all coming off the books next year (or could come off the books). Their contracts would decrease the prospect capital we'd have to send them...assuming the Indians are looking for salary relief. It's all part of the negotiations, anyway. Santana is having a career year. I'm fine with Thames/Aguilar for now...but I might not be in a month. Another switch hitter would be great. I've loved Grandal's ability from both sides.
  7. How about a package with Carlos Santana?
  8. It shocks me that Aaron and Eddie Mathews never hit 40 in the same year.
  9. My brain says no, but my brain is wrong a lot.
  10. Or K him I guess but....that was weird. After 30 secs of reflection...good move. Reddick vs Bregman/Brantley, go after Reddick. Still seems weird though.
  11. 17 pitches for Hader and he's out with an off day tomorrow? Esp. with 2 lefties coming up? At least give him Reddick...although it's too late for that. Seems odd.
  12. This is fascinating.
  13. I was pretty sure Alvarez was going to take that pitch deep. Would like that high FB to either miss the zone or just catch the top of it...
  14. Well...If Woody gets to take back those 4 2 out ABs Verlander gets to take out the 4 Brewer hits...which would then make Verlander's outing among the most dominant pitching performances of all-time. EDIT: Not among the most...I'll say the greatest pitching performance of all-time.
  15. Make a commitment to get all the way through season 1 of GoT. Takes a bit to get all the families and characters straight. I watched my first episode about a month ago. It's EXACTLY how I thought it would be, and that's not a compliment. I kept watching til the middle of season 3 because I wanted more of the characters (except for the Stark kids) to die, but they never did. Soulless fantasy porn devoid of any redeeming qualities. The sheer hollowness of substance in GoT is rivaled only by outer space and the bookshelves of 20th century philosophers. I've met strains of streptococcus that have more heart than any character in that show.
  16. When the same guys lead the league in drawing charges (and getting hit by pitches) fairly often, it's most definitely a skill. This just keeps getting worse and worse. It DOESN'T take skill to crowd the plate and lean over the inside corner and not move. It does take skill to beat a guy to a spot on the basketball court.
  17. Moving your feet and getting into position isnt skill? Hardly...that is really stretching it to call that a "skill". Yeah, this is completely ridiculous, and the analogy is not even close to being similar. The whole object of playing good defense in BB is to stay between the offense and the basket, then contest/block the shot and get a rebound. The best defenders anticipate where the offense is going and get in front of them to draw a charge. There isn't another way to play better D...that is the best possible defense to play and it takes a tremendous amount of effort, anticipation, and skill to do it well. Bunting is a choice that may or may not be the best play.
