  1. If Gomez does have a hip issue, I think only a minor operation would be necessary to fix that, considering thag Gomez had been able to play through it.
  2. But is the Mets' medical staff trustworthy? https://twitter.com/adrastusperkins/status/626607948563906560
  3. According to Ken Rosenthal and Andy Martino, Mets backed out due to concern regarding Gomez's hip. So who's right? This is all so confusing.
  4. Cardinals just lost Holliday so they could use him even more. Would love to get Alex Reyes OR Piscotty (if the Brewers think he can play 3B) and some of the Cardinals second-tier pitching prospects. I think it just makes it more likely that the Cards trade for Lind. I think they'll put Piscotty in the OF.
  5. If Nightengale is correct, then at the very least it's encouraging that the Brewers are still attempting to trade Gomez.
  6. There was the rumor that the Indians were very interested in Gomez. Perhaps they gave DM a last-minute call and one-upped the Mets?
  7. I think the PR [expletive deleted by moderator] will be worse on the Mets' end. The fans wanted a big bat, they heard they were getting a big bat, now they don't have a big bat. At least the Brewers aren't competing this year.
  8. It's not bad, but I would have liked to see prospects along with them.
  9. According to Jeff Passan, Lagares is expected to be part of the potential package.
  10. According to Joel Sherman, Indians are also very interested in Gomez.
  11. According to Joel Sherman, the Brewers covet Flores, but not as main piece.
  12. Who reliable said that? I don't know if he's a reliable source, but something to note, I guess.
  13. No deal close, according to Ken Rosenthal.
  14. There's conflicting reports now. Morosi says discussions between Mets and Tigers have little traction, while another person says Cespedes to Mets is imminent.
  15. Hope it's not Gomez. I just cannot get excited about any of the Mets prospects. Unless they traded Matz, but I think he's off limits. From what we last heard the Brewers were asking for a king's ransom for Gomez. I doubt that they radically changed their minds. Of course what we view as a king's ransom could differ from how they view it.
  16. Huh, if it's big enough to make the Mets fans happy, then the Mets better pony up.
  17. Apparently the Mets are working on acquiring a "big bat" and the rumor has momentum. It's also not Cespedes. So it could be either Justin Upton or Carlos Gomez, if I'm not missing anyone. (According to Andy Martino )
  18. http://milwaukee.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2015/07/29/all-questions-answered-trade-deadline-2015/ So depressing. I truly hope the FO isn't THAT delusional.
  19. The O's would have to add in Gausman as well.
