It’s so nice to see a first round pick do so well right out of the gate for once. I hope he continues doing well.
  2. narwhalattack
I’m gonna guess the latter. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to settle for less.
  3. narwhalattack
So the Cubs would have to hope that he’s worth it for the entire contract

I wonder what it would take to get Stroman. I'd imagine it'd be a king's ransom.
  5. narwhalattack
    Oh the suspense
  6. narwhalattack
I do wonder if the fact that Manaea is a "tweener" makes him slightly cheaper, although perhaps his youth will make him quite expensive.
  7. narwhalattack
Do you know if it’s just Domingo or Domingo+?
  8. narwhalattack
    Well that was quick.

OOF that stings. I was hoping they’d keep one of Brinson and Harrison. Oh well, at least Yelich is more of a sure thing and will be controlled for the next 5 years. I’m not too bummed out about Yamamoto and Diaz, but Brinson AND Harrison stings. Granted, neither are guarantees to reach where Yelich is right now, but still hurts to see some talent leave.

I hope the contract’s big enough to hinder them in the long run.
  11. narwhalattack
I expected this to be the outcome, yet I'm still a bit disappointed.
  12. narwhalattack
It could mean that he's at least considering it, although I doubt the Brewers are in the lead.
  13. narwhalattack
    Who's in that crop?
  14. narwhalattack
Beat me to the punch by mere seconds.
  15. narwhalattack
It would take a king’s ransom to get the Brewers’ attention
  16. narwhalattack
I wonder who told him to change his approach. Did he make the change himself, or was it encouraged by the coaching staff?
  17. narwhalattack
Technically, that move was to make room for RHP Hiram Burgos, up from Biloxi. But lookie here. If not a misplaced entry by one of the affiliates, RHP Corbin Burnes, who already skipped Wisconsin, is double-jumping from Carolina to Biloxi to Colorado Springs this year. Wow. Wasn't Burnes drafted last year?

https://twitter.com/CaliKusiolek/status/896921868640239616 Phil Bickford sitting between 85-87. Doesn't sound too good.
  19. narwhalattack
He had a great stretch from 2014-2016. Perhaps he'll find his form again.
  20. narwhalattack
I'd have to imagine we'll be seeing a stream of senior signs pretty soon.
  21. narwhalattack
Wow, they're going nuts on the high schoolers this time around.
  22. narwhalattack
Enlow and Heatherly come into mind.
  23. narwhalattack
So when's the 3rd round gonna start tomorrow?
  24. narwhalattack
Heh, it seems that Rule 1 of Brewers drafts is that they'll never take who you're praying for.
  25. narwhalattack
Based on the discussion from the previous draft thread (and tip from colbyjack) I think we are banking on Heliot Ramos being available at #34. Huh, another guy I don't know much about.
