  1. So the Braves sent a utility infielder to the D-backs and got Bronson Arroyo and... Touki Toussaint. The D-backs sent a high-ceiling arm just to dump Arroyo and get a utility infielder. WHAT I guess it's time to ask the D-backs about Braden Shipley or Archie Bradley?
  2. So out of those late round guys, if you had to pick only one, who would you sign?
  3. I know that for Medeiros the Brewers also guaranteed to pay for his college education. So perhaps that could work on some of the guys?
  4. I'm guessing they'll take Luken Baker soon?
  5. Ray Montgomery at this point: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  6. So the Brewers picked Hooper. I'm pretty certain he won't sign, but it doesn't hurt to try. Assuming they were picked in the same spot, I wonder who would be more difficult to sign- Everett or Hooper.
  7. Well, Monte didn't commit to playing baseball full-time until last year, so of course he was going to be raw. Combine that with the fact that he's facing pitchers who are MUCH more advanced that what he encountered in high school and you have a guy who looks lost at the plate. I'm not too concerned about Monte right now- we just have to be patient.
  8. I think Gio Brusa is still available.
  9. Did Donny Everett get drafted yet? I know he's a tough sign with his commitment to Vandy, but would be an interesting pick nonetheless.
  10. YES Orimoloye is gonna be a project, but he is tools galore.
  11. Perhaps they're forseeing someone falling to them in the 4th round?
  12. But wouldn't Matuella have even less leverage next year? After all, he is going to be a college senior in a very deep 2016 class.
  13. My thoughts on the draft: Trent Clark- At first I wasn't particularly impressed, but after reading more scouting reports I'm cautiously optimistic. He's no Mike Trout, but he seems to be solid to above-average across the board with no glaring weaknesses. That's a quality pick at #15. Nathan Kirby- A while back he was considered to be a top 5 pick, but his command abandoned him and he eventually became injured. If he regains some of that command and stuff, he can be a solid #2/3 starter, and at #40 that would be an excellent pick. Cody Ponce- Huge arm with secondary pitches that could potentially be at least average. I'm a sucker for big fastballs and Ponce has be intrigued with his fastball. Overall a good value at #55.
  14. IIRC you prefer hitters with good hit tool over hitters with good raw power but questionable bat, correct?
  15. He seems to have a really good hit tool, but average in other areas.
  16. I don't know much about him. The little I read about him isn't particularly awe-inspiring.
  17. If the draft goes where it has always gone for the Brewers, they're gonna draft someone who we never anticipated.
  18. While there's talks of the Brewers going for a below-slot deal, there's also a report about the other end of the spectrum. https://twitter.com/nickjfaleris/status/607997267065249792
  19. Or it could be Daz Cameron. Rumor has it that he could slip to the Astros at 37. But maybe even the Astros will pass on him at 37.
