  1. The Heading for that graph is: What Team Do Cubs Fans Dislike The Most? I guessed that the Astros dislike has something to do with the whole cheating scandal that engulfed the Astros before the 2020 season, but maybe I'm wrong...
  2. For many (even those raising prices) i’ve noticed a reduction in portions too. At first I thought it was coincidence, but after multiple visits the reduction is real. Not that i need all the food, but for many places we’d get 2 meals out of a dinner and now its closer to 1.5 (and we’re loosing weight so its not our thinking the meals are smaller because we need more)...
  3. You’re waaaaaay off the mark here. Is it possible you both are wrong? SBNation did a poll/article last year asking the question of Cubs fans, Who is the Cubs biggest rivalry? The results: Cardinals = 90% Brewers = 7% Is 7% caring? Is that the percentage of Cubs fans going to AmFam-alama-ding-dong Field who got driving tickets during their trip? They didn’t ask an questions about intensity of the rivalry so i guess there’s the tiniest of possibilities that the 90% who voted cardinals are only slightly anti-cardinal, while the 7% who voted Brewers the rivalry consumes their souls and every concious minute such that they walk around mumbling, bah bah bah brewers...
  4. Rodgers is coming off an MVP season. Why wouldn't he have job security? Sure, the economics of his contract are such that moving on from him after 2021 is better than now. But what organization is so stupid to dump the franchise QB, playing at an elite level, who is a first ballot HOF candidate simply because they CAN. He already has job security as long as he performs. The whole Jordan Love situation is just personal for Rodgers. The team put a backup plan in place in case Rodgers decline was real. And at his age they will continue to need to have a backup plan. That's what good organizations do, they setup backup plans in case the basket with 99% of their eggs goes up in flames. Are we really concerned that the Packers leadership is so stupid that they would trade Rodgers after 2021 (if he has another great year) simply because they CAN? Nothing I have seen from the Packers leadership indicates they are that stupid. Shut up Aaron, put up another MVP year and everything will be fine. Seems Rodgers would prefer to take a trip on a ship that has no life boats because then he knows the ship won't sink because life boats are clearly for companies that build bad ships... Forget the airbags on the cars too, just a fake ploy by bad car companies to sell a crap car...
  5. Doesn't help his case when Taylor returns from a handful of days raking at AAA and immediately breaks out of his pre-demotion funk with two bombs off pitchers that baffled Hiura. At this point a T-ball would baffle Hiura...
  6. Pointing out that the narrative, that Rodgers believes and his media friends like to peddle, that the Packers leaders and decision makers haven't provided the resources for Lord Aaron (perfect title) to win multiple Super Bowls doesn't mean that it is a criticism of Rodgers. It's just pointing out that the narrative is false because there were multiple opportunities for Rodgers to make the play and put his team closer to, or into the Super Bowl. There's plenty of what-if's to go around, but somehow Lord Aaron has been given a free pass, while everyone else has the fingers pointed at them.
  7. When has the Packers plans been supplied to any media? Any scuttlebutt is coming from the back end of the reporter. Rodgers camp/Rodgers would likely think that the Packers would call Aaron's bluff so that's consistent since they are the ones leaking all the rumors. Rodgers is under contract. He can choose not to show up for his job and he will get fined. If he wants to sit out 2021 then the Packers can either trade him or let him sit and play without him. Personally I would prefer if they just let the other GMs know that they will entertain offers and go from there.
  8. My comment was to Rodgers complaints about not being informed about roster and other player personnel decisions. I may have picked the wrong post to reply to. WRT drafting a QB to replace him, I firmly am convinced that for both the Rodgers/2005 draft and the 2020 draft, a QB was low on the priority list for the Packers. We have reports that Gute tried to move up to get 2 different WR in 2020, but was blocked both times/the player was selected prior to the trade partner. So they did have a plan for priority 1 and likely 2, and 3 and I would guess QB wasn't in that group. For both drafts, a player the Packers rated extremely high (Rodgers in 2005 and Love in 2020) dropped beyond any guess the Packers had coming into the draft. In both cases they jumped at the opportunity even though QB wasn't high on their priority plan. I believe there's also evidence the Packers traded up to get Love because Belicheck/Patriots were high on Love and trying to move up. It's hard to go into every draft and tell your MVP QB, or any other highly touted player, and say "we might pick someone who would be your replacement if the right circumstances arise and the board plays out in unexpected ways". There's no reason to create an issue when there isn't one. At this point, Rodgers isnt going to believe anything but he was disrespected, no matter what the evidence or the Packers claim. Just trade him for the best package after June 1 and move on.
  9. And if 12 doesn’t like the pick, then what? It doesn't matter if he likes the pick at that point. It's not his decision. You make your pick. But he can't come back later and say he wasn't informed. It's a catch 22 for the Packers. Inform him and ignore his opinion and he will complain that they don't listen to him. Don't inform him to avoid ignoring his opinion and he complains he isn't informed. Can't win on either as long as Rodgers wants to throw poo at the fan.
  10. Aaron Rodgers has NO bargaining power, that's why he's pulling all this crap through the media. It's the only thing he's got and that pisses him off so the leaks and BS will continue. If he had any leverage he'd use it.
  11. Has anyone posting here worked with/for a narcissist? I have. They are experts on EVERY topic. They know what's best for everything and even if you have 10 people in the room and 9 disagree with the narcissist they will argue even louder that they are correct. And if you make that decision against their input, you better believe it will be revisited over and over again even if it wasn't a mistake. If it was a mistake, oh my god, it will never die as it will be brought up over and over again. Sound familiar. Trust? The only person a narcissist trusts is themselves and they will trust others only as long as they agree with them 100% of the time. For Rodgers, he trusts his representation because they will agree with him that water is dry, the sky is orange and his crap tastes great. Put a narcissist into a "democratic" or management structure where they are only 1 of many voices and they will be unhappy no matter what. They want to be GOD, EMPEROR, and the only voice in the room. The breaking point was Jake Kumerow? The guy who can't keep a roster spot on any team? That guy? That's the type of decision a narcissist will argue about while the rest of us realize he isn't worth the ATP... And a narcissist will argue about the most insignificant decision as much as the most significant decision because everyone is supposed to ALWAYS do what they want. Because they are the smartest person in the universe and the center of the universe. Sure, a good manager might try to placate them until they realize that they are a black hole and no matter what you feed the beast, they just grow bigger and needier and require more and more and more and more and more. There is no throwing them the entire carcass and expecting them to be appeased. They will just complain you didn't do it fast enough. You didn't ask them if they were happy. You didn't stroke their ego every second of every day. Cut bait and move on. There's no winning with a narcissist who feels slighted. It is a never ending downward spiral...
  12. Maybe the Packers gave their permission for Rodgers to discuss his contract needs moving forward so that when the Packers announce the trade of Rodgers to the Broncos on June 2nd there wont be any issues.
  13. If only it were that simple just to plug one players WAR in and draw a conclusion. I’ll be willing to bet the difference between Urias and Adames will be offset by the difference between Lindbolm, Yardley and Rasmussen and Feyereisen. They’re deep in the bullpen but it’s a gamble that they have a better chance to win counting on Lindblom, Yardley etc and adding a better shortstop Urias amazingly has been the better hitter this year (89 wRC+ to 77 for Adames in almost identical PA). The disturbing trend for Adames is that his GB/FB% has cratered to 0.63 for 2021 while his career (including 2021) is 1.43. He's struggling big time with the current baseball environment of doctored balls and high strike calls. He's also having the hightest K% for his career so whatever he is doing to adjust to the current batting environment are failing big time. Sure he might get straightened out like all the other hitters under Haines, but he could continue to struggle as much or more than Luis. Then the only win is the difference in Defense. I am less negative than others on the trade, but it isn't a help for 2021 move at all and with the status of the bullpen any gains wil be offset by more innings from the likes of Yardley, Boxberger and Lindblom. The pen outside of Hader (and possibly Williams, but he is looking like 2020 was a mirage) is pretty meh to pretty BAD, Rasmussen was looking better after a rough start and Feyereisen was likely better then any other reliever (outside of Hader/Williams), the idea that the bullpen doesn't matter is interesting given the need to limit IP for the starters...
  14. Haines seems to be working some magic. Instead of striking out on a swing and a miss the Brewers are now striking out on foul tips. Keep it up Andy! Sometime in 2023 they'll be actually putting the ball in play...
  15. The Reds could pitch an infielder and maintain their lead. Might as well save their bullpen for another day when they don't score and the Brewers have a chance to win...
  16. I believe there was a saber article a few years ago claiming their analysis put it about double AA level of talent/play. I can see a washed up 30+ former MLB pitcher having a field day in double AA and here we are... Did anyone in the Brewers org even look at tape and adjust for level of play when they thought let's sign Lindblom to a 3 year deal or did his agent pown Stearns with a fake other team bidding... Either way it makes Stearns look like a knob...
  17. Pretty bad. Thames was putting up 1.100+ OPS there. Thames put up over 5 fWAR in just under 1300 PA (spread across 3 years). For $17M in salary that's a steal.
  18. I believe that if Suter is in your top 3 relief pitchers then you have a very crappy bullpen...
  19. If Charlie Brown had to face the Brewers hitters he'd have multiple little league Cy Young awards...
  20. It's sad when your pitcher is likely the 4th best hitter in the game... And he's no Ohtani...
  21. I'm surprised it took until page 5 for someone to post from BTV... Yeah we *WON* another trade...
  22. I know that MLB has an issue and for me it's completely unwatchable baseball. Sure I enjoy a good pitching matchup, but we've had about 4 really crappy pitchers throw no-hitters this year and so many crappy pitchers look like Cy Young. That's not a good pitching matchup that's ugly baseball. If the game length is any indication of how MLB goes about fixing problems then heaven help us. There is a lot of data that the biggest contributor to game length is much longer times between pitches now than historically. What has MLB done? NOTHING at all, except make STUPID changes about the smaller contributors. And failed at that. Football is the best comparison to baseball for having distinct offense and defensive players and a series of attempts (downs in Football and outs in Baseball) to score. It's been ages since the NFL instituted a play clock, yet baseball continues to bore the crap out of it's fan base by letting all this crap go on. Is it really interesting to watch Ryan Braun go through his ritual EVERY pitch? Yeah, does the slowest paced major sport need to have even less action? Only if you want your fan base to shrink even smaller.
  23. Why does it have to be either? I think it's a some of both. I really wonder how good the information the batters are getting about pitchers like their pitches, tendencies, etc. JBJ is the best example of a hitter who is pretty much new to most of the National League Pitchers and sucking abysmally (Interleague doesn't acclimate you that well, especially when Boston's interleague competition is very different from the Brewers). Has he suddenly become unable to hit or is he getting really HORRIBLE advise about pitchers he's never/rarely seen. The thing that strikes me about the Brewers is the huge number of times they look at strike 3 or even lay off a really hit-able pitch as if they didn't expect it to be there. Players do a huge amount of guessing what type of pitch and where it's going before it even leaves the pitchers hand and when they are fooled or not expecting something and didn't pick up the pitch well they end up looking at the pitch or swinging with little chance of making contact. That points to some clear issues with advance scouting and getting the pitchers MO correct. To trwi's point about the age/quality of the recent signees, while that isn't a talent evaluation failure per se, it's a failure to account for the likelihood that those players are close to severely declining. That is still an error on talent evaluation and the whole Urias/Grisham trade says that there is indeed some really poor talent evaluation going on in Brewerville. Is that "sudden" or just regressing to the mean after a lot of good decisions early in Stearns' tenure is impossible to say now.
