  1. Trent Grisham's minor league numbers were worse than that before he made an adjustment in 2019. I'm not saying Taylor just needs to make an adjustment, but it does happen. I don't think he is the next Grisham, but I wouldn't rule it out completely just because it's a rare event. At this point sending him down makes sense and as soon as he's needed he will likely be back, but it does raise a question about how the Brewers are spending their payroll. Could Taylor provide close to what either Garcia or Bradley are providing for $10M a year LESS so that the Brewers could spend the savings on a relief pitcher or a better IF backup than Robinson. Or a 1B that hits above the Mendoza line. Basically an upgrade at any one of several positions. So far both of them are brutal for the investment and it looks like we will be stuck with Bradley for another year unless he gets hot.
  2. Thanks, I tried googling for exactly that and didn't get it. Does anyone know if any of these Draft "Experts" ever get hired by a NFL team and get taken out of the public domain like multiple Baseball Analytics guys? It seems if any of them had sufficient knowledge that complements or supplements any teams current personnel they would get hired. Walter seems to be closer to be admitted to an alzheimer's unit than getting hired by a NFL team.
  3. Do you get released from a Futures/Reserve contract? He spent 21 days on the Saints practice squad between 12/25/20 and January 18, 20201 being waved once, resigned then released before signing a Futures/Reserve contract on January 26, 2021 with the Bills. Why would the Saints even bother with him if they didn't want to bring him to camp? I guess the Saints were trying to appease Rodgers in the hopes he would add them to his trade wish list...
  4. Well said, this is pretty much where I'm at. What I don't get is that if all players have to do is get mad enough to perform at an elite level then why can't they just play at that elite level every year? Too lazy? Not mad enough? It just seems odd every time an athlete has a great season on a "he had something to prove" situation why doesn't someone ask what the $30M per year actually buys? Just an average performance (for that athlete)? You somehow have to pay extra or get them mad to get that elite performance? Really? That's an adult or a child?
  5. I've had it for about 9 months. I've only gotten about 35Mpbs not the 50 they advertise, but overall few issues with outages or dropped signal (most streaming has been smooth). There isn't a modem/router based speedtest like I can do with Spectrum, but even my 200Mbps advertised Spectrum line comes in at 150-160. You probably cant stream 4K to 3 devices, but it should handle most streaming needs depending on your circumstances.
  6. Is Davante Adams a WR Weapon? In 2 games Adams missed during 2020, Rodgers threw for 610 yards and 7 TD (305/game and 3.5 per game). In the other games (with Adams) Rodgers averaged 263.5 Yds and less than 3 TDs per game. So if Rodgers needs those "weapons" why was he able to so easily perform without his #1 WR and "Weapon"? Both of those games were early before the so-called " Until Rodgers clicked with Tonyan"...
  7. Exactly. I stated it before, but if Rodgers wants to finish his career in Green Bay he only needs to sign a team-friendly extension. If he wants the biggest money for the longest time then he'll be gone after 2021.
  8. I guess teams now need to carry a >90 ft tape measure and 2 yard sticks to show an umpire how his decision isn't possible based on the rules. Run the tape measure from 1st to second and put a yard stick on either side. McCutchen would have had to be on the infield grass to be 3 feet off a straight line. HE NEVER TOUCHED THE GRASS...
  9. Actually that could be the best thing for the Packers. Drafting top 5 for a couple years will give you the opportunity to find that franchise QB if Love fails and if they still are 4-12 with a decent performance from Love they can use those high picks to add a couple of elite players at other positions or trade down for more picks to add starters at multiple positions. The thing I always wondered is how the Niners could be so bad some years to get such high draft picks to pick up players like Bosa? The Packers play to win, other teams play for draft position. There's nothing wrong with a few years of prime draft picks.
  10. I liked his comment: "Despite adding two blockers in the first four rounds, I don't think they did enough to improve their collapsing offensive line. " What collapsing offensive line? Then this part: "They largely failed to address needs; they reached on players; they allowed the Bears to land a franchise quarterback; and they drove Aaron Rodgers out of town. How is that not worthy of a failing grade?" What? They drafted a Center who is projected ready to go as a starter Day 1 which allows them to Slide Jenkins into the LT spot until Back returns. Allowing the Bears to land a franchise quasterback? Does he think teams can veto other teams picks? He thought the Packers should have traded away multiple 1sts/early round picks to get into the 7/8 range to get ahead of the Bears. Anyone who makes that kind of statement has NO credibility. An internet troll has more credibility... Drove Aaron Rodgers out of town? Idiot...
  11. Has eBay every tried to pull some weight with the Post Office and threaten to pull them as a preferred shipper if they don't improve their service? They won't get better pricing from UPS or FEDEX so the USPS knows it's just a empty threat. For all the complaints the post office gets about Chicago, the worst service I had was in Milwaukee where a package was mailed downtown and it took 7 days to get to New Berlin. Or the one that went from Oak Creek to NB to Milwaukee to Oak Creek to NB and took 3 extra days bounding around Milwaukee. Chicago is a pretty big issue as almost everything from anywhere else in the country or to anywhere else has to go through Chicago and can take a few days to get processed. The latest dodge from the USPS is that they will acknowledge they have the package, but they have not "accepted" it...
  12. As RRB and simba pointed out his defense is horrible. His defense is so bad if the NL had the DH Hiuira would be the worst defensive DH. I'm fine if the Brewers think he can fix his issues in Milwaukee as long as they put a big blackout on the screen so we don't see him swinging the bat or in the field.
  13. As Rodney Dangerfield put it so well in "Back to School", You got a C? A, B, C ... you're in the top 3!
  14. If we could send JBJ to Nashville I'd be all for that. Hiura's secondary stats area abysmal. He's near the bottom or is the worst hitter in MLB at contact on pitches in the strike zone. He isn't juast unlucky he is bad. Needs to get his K% down.
  15. It could be worse. He's only struck out once today and he's only accounted for 5 outs in 4 PA...
  16. To strike someone out they either have to swing and miss (look at the box score) or take a pitch as strike 3 (see answer to #1 - when you are knocking the snot out of the ball there's no reason to take a pitch).
  17. Hey Geno! I think of the movie Up! every time there's a Judge/Yankees mention. It's like someone yelled "squirrel" to them and like a perfect Pavlovian response they are all off chasing the story. Mike Trout will likely end up being the greatest player to play the game and he can't get any screen time from Aaron Friggin Judge or the Yankees 3rd string bat boy.
  18. Well in the middle of his life being harder, Gute did an excellent job in the 2021 NFL Draft. Maybe we should keep both of them so that Gute makes Rodgers better by drafting his successor every year and Rodgers can hold out every year and maybe even threaten to hold his breath making Gute's life hell. Anything to get an edge in the NFCCG is fine by me. If they both make each other better that's great. The downside is that it's much more likely that Rodgers can't function at his job sooner than Gute goes senile so it might be better keeping the surer thing.
  19. I'm getting tired of MLB.com and their fawning over the coast teams. Here's the headline on the main page: I guess losing a series 3-1 to a team that has 50% of the roster (hyperbole) on the IL including their best hitter and defender and TOR starter is funny for the Dodgers. If that's the cas then I want to laugh all the way to the playoffs because I'm fine with losing the 1 game by 100 runs as long as we win 75% of the games. The Brewers will have a 10-2 record against >500 teams after today. Let's see if there's any articles about their performance on mlb.com or just another article about how well the Yankees are doing if you ignore their first 2 weeks. Or those great Padres. Anyone see an article about Burnes streak on mlb.com. I didn't because it's clear mlb.com is headed toward ESPN v2 then an impartial site that focuses on good baseball. [/rant]
  20. If Rodgers really wants to play out his career with the Packers then he needs to sign a team friendly deal. At present the team is already looking at a cap nightmare for 2022. I understand Rodgers wants to be paid like he's the best QB in football, but he has been for a long time and the team hasn't been able to add the pieces around him to get back to the Super Bowl. Paying him $40M a season is going to limit what they can do in FA and likely prevent them from doing the extensions they have in the past to keep key guys. At some point, if winning a Super Bowl is Rodgers biggest desire then he needs to understand that he might have to leave some money on the table so the team can surround him with the talent. If it's all about the biggest/longest payday for #12 then the Packers are rightfully going to move on.
  21. I'm expecting him to find a way to strike out on 2 pitches. Would speed up the game at least...
  22. I'm disappointed he's only disappointed... I'm disappointed someone didn't dump their mint julip on him...
  23. On a separate note, I haven't seen it discussed, but I really like what the lions have done this draft. I predict John Dorsey is going to help that team more than any other person over the last 30 years (even Barry Sanders).
